Spring training is still to come, training camp is really just the guys coming back from the offseason and getting them back in a good routine for the upcoming season. Everyone you wanted us to focus on took to the training fairly decent. Some better than others, but that's how the dice rolls sometimes.

Hello GM Franchise, I sure was not expecting to talk to you again so quickly. According to league records, you locked in $2.5MM over reserve roster budget. We once again are forced to fine you another $2.5MM on your reserve roster budget. That means you will need to cut $5MM of reserve roster cap before re-locking in. If this happens again, the league punishment may be more severe. Please be careful.

ďNot the best start, but I was slightly expecting that with all the new faces. It takes tike to build that trust and chemistry with one another. Iím not too concerned as itís more about gaining momentum by mid season and finishing strong. We head to Lincoln this week and I think weíre more than capable of snatching a win there. I donít feel the losses are due to a broken system or being in the wrong scheme. Just struggling to put it all together right, but I have faith that itís coming. You agree Coach or do you feel some tweaks are needed?Ē

Guys did improve during camp, don't let the color on the sheet keep you from thinking that. As for leadership, we have vocal leaders on the team, you just didn't name them captains.

SEATTLE LUMBERJACKS
PRESS CONFERENCE

SEASON 11 - WEEK 3

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?

"Man this was a disappointing loss as I no doubt believe we're a better football team than Kansas City. The two turnovers turned out to be the difference in the game, but we're a much better team then how we played. I think we still did really well offensively moving the ball and defensively, we limited Mariota to throwing on us a ton, but they kept the ball moving with their run game too consistently. We'll revenge this loss when we meet them in KC later this season."

2. The XFL and AAF have been very quiet since their championship games received very low viewership, do you believe there is room for that many professional football league's in America?

"I think there is room to coexist with the HIFL, but not to be a competitive league in terms of rivaling HIFL. This leagues come with the mindset of trying to take what the HIFL has, instead, they should work more towards with working with them then against them."

3. Talk about something going on around the league this season that has interested you in one way or another.

"How about Luis Gustafson? Incredible performance that shows just how versatile of a player he is. A really nice draft find by Charlotte a few seasons back."

4. What do you make of the incredible season Jamie Ortega is having this year, first place in passing and rushing TDs, as well as rushing yards all while only having one interception on the season.. is that MVP Caliber in your eyes, and if not, who is your early favorite for league MVP?

"Right now, Ortega has the numbers. But Meek has done a pretty outstanding job in Music City, leading them to a undefeated record through 3 games. But... it's been 3 games. Way too early to be asking this type of question."

5. Talk to us about your upcoming game this week.  What will be the key to victory?

"Lincoln is as tough of a football team in this league as any. I'm not sure who will be the quarterback for them against us, because I think I heard some rumors of it maybe being Aaron Kitchen. I'm not sure there, but either way, we'll need to play aggressive and control the clock to even up our record at the quarter-way mark."

About spring training.

It wouldnít let me sub in depth as manager switched it back to starting lineup. So as of now, looks like only starters can be manipulated. But I havenít tried that yet so not 100% there either.

Thanks for being patient as we treat this season sort of like a BETA run.

The same as when you left, we werenít sure what was going on so missing training camp hurts a bit. The players are all a little confused but theyíll be happy that youíre back. Now they are ready to get after it in spring training.

I think we're going to need to rely on our pitching to carry us this season. We obviously have Cruz, but we'll need some bats to get hot and help Cruz carry the load.

We play 12 games, so you can just state how many games you want certain players to play. If you want it against specific opponents, you can annotate that as well.

I think the team is going to be a work in progress, but we have a great piece to build around in Wolfe along with some solid complementary players. As for spring training, I think it's easier to just roll with our starters and maybe toss some of our reserve guys in there a few games too.

I'd probably start Smith at SS and Estrada at 2B instead of starting Thorp. But that is things we can plug and play with in spring training. Outside of that, it's pretty close to how I'd have it set-up.

I don't think so boss. If we had an arm we wanted to see in action as starter then maybe I'd expand my starter rotation to 4 or 5 arms instead of 3. But I'm not sure we have that arm in Tyler Davis. So whatever you want to do in terms of spring training, I'm with it.
