Thank you Mike.  You have my word that I will only  move him if he will start for the other team.

Ms. Dossey can I speak with Alberto Kidwell please.

Alberto, I hope all is well.  I wanted to reach out to you to see if you can come to training camp and work with our receivers? I will pay $750K for your services.

I am being honest with you.  I assume the GM in question is trying to sabotage me.  But again, I have not had trade discussions with anyone.  With that being said, I was going to speak with you this offseason about John's future.  I wanted to let you know that we will be going in a different direction at quarterback and John will not be our starter.  With the guaranteed deal it does me no good to cut him, so I will not do that.  But I have respect for John and want to see if he is open to a trade as opposed to being a backup on our team?

No, I do not.  At the time I felt like our offense needed something different based on how we were playing.  Despite our astronomical amount of drops, I felt John was still struggling this season so I made the switch.

General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : OAKLAND SILVERBACKS

1. Discuss your final game... what could you have done better to stay in the playoffs?

10 first downs, 7 penalties, two turnovers, and 7 minutes less time of possession.  It's hard to win a football game like that.  We didn't run the ball well, our defense was on the field for too long, we had too many dropped passes, we didn't protect the quarterback good enough.  If we would have done those things, we would have put ourselves in position to win the game.

2. What was the most memorable win of the year for you?

Beating Long Beach both times.  Any time we can stick it to GM Girlie and the Mermaids it is memorable.

3. Which loss stands out or stings the most?

The loss to Lincoln.  I believe so much in our team and our talent, but we've hurt ourselves more than the other team actually did.  It stings like hell and I know it does for our players too.

4. Do you think you could have done anything differently this season to better your standings?

During the season...no.

5. Who was your teams MVP this year?

Alfred Glass

6. How do you grade your coaches performances this season?

B+.  I believe our coaches did a great job of getting our guys prepared week in and week out.

7. Grade your own performance, how did this season compare to others?

B.  We have made the playoffs both seasons that I've been here, but we've also been knocked out in the first round both times.  I think overall, I've done a solid job, but there are areas of improvement that we need to build on.

1. With the playoffs starting this week, what is most important to you?

That we go out and play Oakland Silverbacks football.  If we do that then we should take care of business and win.

2. For this team to make a run in the playoffs, who needs to step up the most?

Our receivers.  We can't move the ball on offense if we can't catch the ball.

3. Can your team go the distance and win it all in Vancouver?

Yes, we can.

Ladies and gentlemen, I will be making a statement, but will not be taking questions. With that said here we go...

It is no secret that the past few weeks our team has been inconsistent and struggling.  However, the game of football is hard, tough, full of sacrifice and so much more that is required of our players.  We are fighting for our playoff hopes this upcoming week, but I want to make sure everyone in the football world knows that as the General Manager of the Oakland Silverbacks I have never been more proud of a team that I have been a part of as this one.  Despite the tough times and losing streaks and win streaks and all the other emotions experienced throughout a HIFL season, our guys have gone out every single day and given their all to each other, this team, and our city.  I sit here before you and want everyone to know that I am proud to be the General Manager of the Oakland Silverbacks.

---

We can only take care of the things we can control and that means taking care of Tulsa.  Anything special that we need to do or change, or do we just continue how we have been and know that we are the better team and should win if we execute?

1. With two weeks remaining in the regular season, what is your approach and why?

We have two must win games to make the playoffs so it's a no-bullshit approach to the final two weeks of the season.  We have to take care of business and I will lead this organization in that manner.  Taking care of business.

2. There is a rumor circulating that the new Collective Bargaining Agreement that is being finalized between the league office and players union will significantly change the HIFL for years to come.. What is one thing you would want to see added and one thing you would want to see removed from the league if you had the power to make it so.

I would like to see players pass a resolution to officially boycott GM Kirk and GM Gooch.  The two whine more than a 13 year old school girl and throw accusations aimed at other teams around as if they were passing out skittles.  I'd like to see an increase in roster size as well.  I believe that is much needed.

3. If your team had news this week, discuss it and your game this week, if you did not have news, how much stock do you put on these final two weeks when it comes to building momentum for next year?

I'm not concerned with Botts.  Carr's tweet did catch me by surprise, but at the end of the day he is a competitor so I get it.  We have Tuscon....it's a must win game. Period.

It's frustrating, but time to move on to San Antonio.  Is this a game where we move Glass to strictly defense to let him focus on Simon?

Welcome back coach.  Sucks to lose that game.  Our offense did well moving the ball, but got blanked in the second half on the scoreboard.

46
General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : OAKLAND SILVERBACKS
« on: May 14, 2019, 08:06:36 AM »
1. What was your biggest takeaway from your game this week?

Despite not scoring in the second half, I was pleased to see our offense move the ball through the air.  We have struggled with the pass game all season, but the last two weeks we've been able to get some traction and move the ball through the air.  I think this is a big key to any playoff success that we have.

2. Talk about this weeks game and what it will take to win.

We have the division champs, which will be a big test for us.  We beat them earlier in the season, but they've have been on fire ever since.  They have a lot of weapons, so we are going to have to control the clock to keep the ball out of Daley's hands and we are going to have to pressure him big time.

3. Talk about anything you would like from this past week.

I'm sure GM Gooch cried when he saw the butt chug.
