Alright that sounds pretty good to me coach. Let's go out there and show them exactly who we are. I'll get us locked in shortly. Good luck this week coach.

Good I feel the same way...Now let's talk about something a bit more pressing. With Meek back in the line up, how are you feeling about this weeks game against Milwaukee? I'm sure Jackson will be looking to prove he was the better corner taken in the draft.

Thank you sir! I'm very happy that you are pleased with my work here so far and what we have achieved in this time. I plan on continuing our success and getting better as time goes on. Don't worry these people will be reminded that we are indeed not only the Kings of Music around these parts but we are the Kings Of Football as well!

1. What was your biggest takeaway from your game this week?

Biggest take away from this week's game was that Louis came out and was doing pretty well for us. He stepped up in a big way and we couldn't be more proud for what he was able to go out there and do against the Michigan Monsters. I think what we all learned in our loss was that we can't just let up off the gas because any team in this league can come surprise us at any point in time. We were well on our way to winning this game but we just let up on the pressure. We can't do that, we -just can't. We have to be a little more aggressive to ensure we come out with a W. With that said I'm happy with what were able to do but not too excited about taking a loss here.

2. With your record at mid-season, how would you grade the first half of Season 11 for your franchise based on your pre-season expectations?

We're sitting at 5-3 and 3rd in our division. I believe we're exactly where I predicted us to be actually. If you remember I looked at us and I said that we were probably looking at being the 2nd or 3rd best in our division. And we are. We're currently tied with 3 other teams for the the 3rd best team in the Eastern Conference. What did I predict we would be? 5th or 6th. Looks like so far we are a little better than that prediction no telling where we will end up being for sure since this has been sort of an unpredictable season. League rank I said we'd probably had the 10th best team. We're tied for the 4th best team in the league and might just end up being the 10th best team or better. With that said I'll give us a solid A grade. We've improved dramatically this season compared to last. Our fight and want to win was never in question. But we did improve in terms of talent and coaching. We look to continue our success this season and beyond. The Kings will be crowned champions in the future to come. That's our goal and we do not plan on straying away from that.

3. At mid-season, which of your players would you consider an underrated performer who deserves more recognition?

I think LiAngelo Jackson, LaVar Jackson Jr., Wilfredo Barrera, Jackson Havlock and Carlos Wright have been having great rookie seasons and deserves some more recognition around the league. Vincent Wright has stepped up in a huge way since Bishop went down, I think he deserves some more recognition. There's a lot of guys on this team I think more recognition. This teams wasn't taken serious coming into this season and now people or at least hope people know not to doubt this team anymore.

4. Three weeks before the All-Star game, who do you believe is a lock from your team to be selected for the game?

If I don't see Michael Meek, Christopher Sanchez, Matthew Grover, JVD, Mark Prince, Tony Stacy, William Donaldson or hell even Carlos Wright's name up on that damn list I'll know some BS is going on. Either 3 of our RB's could make an argument for the All Star game I think as well. But that's just me. Needless to say I love our guys and I want the absolute best for them.

5. With the trade deadline upon us, do you see your team as a buyer, a seller, or neutral?  ...and what is it you are looking for on the trade market?

As of right now we're Neutral. I'm pretty comfortable with who we have now. If my coaching staff thinks we can make some improvements in the trade market I'll take a look into the matter but as of right now I'm not interested in any potential trades.

Yes and no but I don't see an issue with it as of right now. Our guys play hard in the paint so far we have been able to succeed with our big men and compliments well with our back court. If anything needs to be addressed, we will address them accordingly when we are capable of doing so.

I felt we played well these last two weeks. It's pretty clear we missed out on Smallwood against Jacksonville I plan on meeting with the coaching staff to talk about that and to hear the status of his well being. Drew continues to progress as we though by providing a spark off the bench.

We plan on keeping up this momentum of success in the coming weeks as we continue to prove the Swan are an elite team in the league rather than a team to point and laugh at.

Any questions?

It's complete fucking bullshit coach.....Son of a bitch...I'm sure Louis is up to the task but we both know he isn't Michael. I think if he makes smart decisions on the field along with us focusing a little more on our rushing attack we might be alright. How you feel about our chances against these Monsters?

1. What was the major takeaway you got from this week's game? What did your team do best, and what do you need to do better?

Biggest take away was us making it out with a win. Biggest take away was our QB getting hit with some unnecessary hits that has him out for a couple of weeks. Not something I'm too pleased about it....I don't know what the hell was going on there but I know I shouldn't be looking at a damn injury report that says Michael Meek out with a Sprained Knee cause of some d---Never mind. What can we do better? We played a good game but we're gonna have to improve in certain areas that much is evident. We're playing hard as we should and despite losing Meek I'm sure we're gonna continue to keep up the good work. We have some tough games ahead of us and we're gonna have to play our best defense in all of em.

2. Did you fall in love with any players from the showcase?  care to share who?

I wouldn't say we fell in love with some players but we do have our eye on some. That's all I'll say for now.

3. Which player are you most concerned about on your opponent's team this week, and why?

Just hoping we can stop the run as much as possible to be honest with you.

4. Talk about anything that stood out to you in the news, how do you feel about the possibility of a 53 man roster?

I'm feeling the same way our players are when it comes to be pissed the hell off about the Tulsa players. Other than that I love the idea of the 53 man roster. It helps teams have more flexibility since I'm hoping the cap goes up because of the roster extending. It also gives more players a chance to play and get paid rather than sitting in free agency hoping to get picked up.

5. Talk about the upcoming game, what is one word you would give to your team this week, and why?

Fight. Fight to defend your kingdom. The Monsters are on their way to Music City ready to wreak havoc on us. We can't let that happened. We may of lost Meek for a couple weeks but we still have an outstanding offense and defense that can get the job done. Louis knows he has to come out and play his butt off. He has shown he is capable of playing quality football for us when he got a chance to be in so we're hoping for more of the same with him stepping in for Michael for the time being. We believe in him and believe he will fight right along with us to get this win this week.

I agree coach. No point in rushing him into the starting line up.

I see we got Week 3 off but we got a busy week in Week 4. How are you feeling about our match ups there. We're pretty familiar with Olympia already I think we might already know what we need to do against them but besides them we have Fort Worth & Jacksonville.

That is the goal but we're not in a rush to thrust him into the starting line up right off the bat. We had us a good start these first two weeks and we're taking a step in the right direction that is something I'm at least happy about. When will make Drew the starter? I'll leave that up to my coaching staff on when they feel the time is right and they feel is he comfortable enough to do so.

« on: February 17, 2019, 01:08:14 AM »

For sure. It was a great win for our club, harder than I thought it would've been but still we got the win. Only thing I want to know is how can we defend better on the run. I've noticed that's where we are struggling at the most of the teams we face. It was certainly the main ingredient to our demise against Miami and Alabama.

27
General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM: MUSIC CITY KINGS

1. Talk about last weeks game. (typical what went right / wrong depending on a win or loss)

Helluva game. It really went down to the wire, had me on edge for a bit but we really brought it home towards the end. As for negatives I think it's pretty clear we need to do better on run defense. It'll be something we'll try to address in the next week or two.

2. What are your thoughts on Hilton Keegan and others skipping this Rookie Showcase and committing to either the XFL or AAF?

I think it's a bit unfortunate for talents such as themselves refusing to join the best football league available to them. If they think this route will be better for their careers more power to them. I do think they are making a bit of a mistake though.

3. What are you hoping to gain from this weeks Showcase?

We're hoping to identify some quality talent in this showcase that we may want to keep an eye on up till draft time. As good as we have been this season I still feel as if we are a work in progress and I'm looking forward to seeing if any of these players standout and can provide a spark in the coaching staff's eyes.

4. What did you schedule for your players during the bye week? Training or a week off?

We gave the guys some time off in terms of anything physical. We assigned some film study to help them improve on their own games as well as studying up on future opponents. This game is as much mental as it is physical. It's important we exercise our minds.

5. Talk about anything else on your mind in reference to the league/sport.

I'm keeping a close eye on that Bounty-Gate situation going on over in Oakland and Tuscan. It's not something I take lightly. Hoping some truth comes out whether or not something is going on fore sure or not.

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?

This week was a bit similar to what happened last week down in Miami. We started off good taking the opposing team's defense by surprise. Then I think their defense just got us figured out and it went from there. We played okay defense but no where good enough to get the job done. Second week in a roll the run game has been our kryptonite. With not being able to stop the run it just opened up the passing game for them. We ran into "The Terminator" also known as Jamie Ortega. This was a game where Ortega shine yet again not a lot more I can say than that. Just a hard week for us every step of the way.

2. Talk about the news that caught your attention this week...

I think this Tulsa news is pretty damn huge to say the least. If they do end up taking the deal and moving up to Canada then I think that's gonna be huge for that franchise and the league. I'm looking forward to seeing if that happens or not. I know the games up there in the winter are gonna be cold as all shit thought unless they plan to build a damn dome or roofed stadium.

3. Now that you have completed your first round of divisional games, how do you rank the teams in your division and who do you believe will be the biggest threat to your goals?

I think the standings we have right now are pretty damn accurate. Miami and Alabama are true some top tier powerhouse teams in this league and they exposed us. We started out the season 3-0 but man going up against those guys exposed us. It proved to me we made the right moves this off season but we are still long way from where we want to be. We have put the league on notice but we have yet reached out goal into becoming the powerhouse team that we hope to be. We will win some games and might even make the playoffs. Against those powerhouse teams though? We will struggle. That much is clear. We'll figure things out and make the right adjustments in the coming weeks and hopefully by the time we meet Miami and Alabama again we'll be more than ready for em than just knowing how much of a threat they are.

4. Talk to us about your upcoming game this week.  What will be the key to victory as you step out of division for the first time this year?

We're going across the country this week to meet up with Tucson. They're a new team that's growing just like we are. They aren't where GM Kirk wants them at the moment but if anyone knows Kirk he'll get that franchise off the ground in no time. What we're gonna be looking to do is dusting ourselves off and getting back to what we do best and that's play good, tough Kings Football. The Music is still playing people, it hasn't ended just yet. Turn up the volume, huh?

Princess, if you don't mind can you get Drew Leventhal on the phone please in regards to his client William Rodriguez?

---

Mr. Leventhal, I'm not going to waste too much time here. As you know our starting SS Mr. Bishop suffered a brutal injury that's gonna put him out for the remainder of the regular season. We're hoping he'd be able to make it back in time for the playoffs. With that said we placed him on the Determined To Return list which opens up a roster spot for us. I wanted to call and see if your client Mr. Rodriguez would be interested in joining our Kingdom for the rest of the season to be a member of this strong defense and help us continue to prove people who may doubt us wrong every step of the way. Perhaps this can be a way to display himself to our coaches and other GM's in the league that they they shouldn't have left him to be available still in the first place if he's able to get himself some PT.

With all that said I'm gonna be offering Mr. Rodriguez a $250K contract to play for us for the remainder of the season. If you have counter offer I'm all ears but for right now that is where I'm at.

If we can limit Ortega in anyway possible, do it. I'd like of us to show that we still have us defense that this league should be worried about by any means.

How about on the offensive side of the ball. How do we match up against their defense? I know they've been impressive on that end as well in terms of the linebackers.

Ortega is a machine. An absolute machine. Better yet, he is a monster. How do you prepare to take down a monster? Well it starts with what's inside of you and that's your heart. The grit in it all. You have to be mentally strong to know what you're up against before you can even start to have the confidence in doing so. We have confidence that we can be a challenge for Jamie but we know it's gonna take a lot more than that to stop him from well..Being him. We have to try and limit him as much as we can. I'd like to take one element out of his game to disrupt anything. We have some of the best defensive minds in the league here in Music City so I trust that we will be prepared to do so. It's gonna be up to our guys to get the job done and execute. We'll be ready for the man who just may be the MVP this season. We're gonna give it our all to stop em and let him hear that sweet sweet music.

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?

We knew we were heading into a war down in Miami. We knew it was gonna be a tough ride but I don't think we expect it to be as difficult as it was. To put it plainly, we got ran over. There's no sugarcoating it. Our offense was falling falling apart as we weren't able to get all that much done despite having a huge scoring drive in the start of the game. I think we may have been a bit too confident after that and forgot who we were up against. It was a difficult go for us. We knew this game was going to test us as much as our next game against the defending champs is going to be. This is a game we needed to win before facing off with Alabama and well...We failed. Sorry I'm just a bit deflated by this as much as anyone on the team especially with the loss of Bishop for potentially the rest of the season.

2. Talk about the news that caught your attention this week...

The only news the remotely caught my attention was our injury report....Losing Bishop is a huge blow for our defense along with our team. He's a leader of this team and it's tough to see a guy of his caliber go down. I was just talking to him last week about how much we loved having him here so this news is heartbreaking to say the least.

3. One Quarter of the way through your season, What have you learned about your team so far, and where do you see your season going?

With one loss on our record we're certainly pleased with where we are. Yes we had a ugly loss this past week but all in all we are standing 3-1 right now. Compare that to last season and I'd say we've made great progress and will continue to do so going forward. We still look forward to proving those who doubt us wrong every step of the way no matter what.

4. Talk to us about your upcoming game this week.  What will be the key to victory?

We're going up the defending champs this week. If going up against Miami wasn't proof enough we need all hands on deck to win this game and to even hope to make the playoffs I don't know what is. This will be yet another hard game for us and even hard with Bishop going down. With that said, it is next man up! Luckily we have us a great SS that was the back up for Bishop in Leon Vitale. We trust that he is ready to step up to the plate and provide us with some great plays to help us win this next game as well any the future games of this season. Keep in mind despite Charles not being able to be on the field for us his presence will be felt. He'll be there on the sideline rooting us on and helping coaching staff get our secondary prepared and ready. Like I said before he is a leader on this team and we don't expect anything less from him or any other captain on this team. We are Kings. This Sunday we plan on protecting or kingdom. We know it's gonna be a sold out game as well so we are expecting to have our fans help in causing some disruption. Ortega is gonna be quite the force to be reckoned with....We'll be ready for em.

No problem. I'm not gonna take up too much more of your time I know you need to go get ready for practice. You need anything just let me know, alright? Thanks for coming up Charles.

Princess, is there anything else on this week's agenda I need to take care of before locking in?

And we're more than happy to have you back home, Charles. Now I know it's early on in the season so I'm not gonna press anything on you I just want to let you know now we'd like to have you stay here with us for the long haul if you'd at all be interested. You don't have to tell me now and I know you may want to wait until the off season which is all good with me my man, I just want you to know how we're feeling about having you here.

Charles is good to see you. You had one helluva game this past Sunday. Been watching your show too, seems like you've settled pretty well here in Nashville am I right?
