Let's do it then.
---
Demi, let's do this.

Primary WR: Ponder
4-3 in all situations except 3rd or 4th and long.

Shane - wanted to let you know where going to put some extra weight on you this week. We're going to pack the box to stop the TE's and run game and leave You vs. Hodge, best on best, out on the island. We brought you here for a moment like this; you up to the challenge of locking down the best receiver in the game?

Sounds good. I'll put that in the strategy settings before we lock in. Anything else? I want to speak to Shane.

Then we go with Ponder as the primary. He'll need a big game for us. The only other thing I can think of is do we want to play more 4-3 against their 2 TE looks. It means we stop the run a bit better I think but Hodge might destroy us. I like it - we paid a big price for Shane for a game like this, do you think we're okay with him out on the island.

Understood. I figured we were going to move on that but I didn't want to force feed Ponder against Botts. I don't mind making Zeller the primary if you want but do you think Mackey could torch Dennis Nelson?

1. Talk about the win.
We played well enough to get the win. That’s what’s important this time of year. It’s not about dissecting what went wrong or what we did right, but about gutting out sixty minutes of football and coming out with the victory. I’m proud of our guys for fighting and pulling it out at the end. That’s a good Oakland team.

2. Who was the most vital person to your victory?
Steph Shelley. He’s matured a lot over this year and this game really showed it. He did a great job moving the ball around and making sure he protected the ball. I also want to give a shout out to Robert Ponder. He’s got some mighty big shoes to fill this playoff drive and he balled out in a big way for us.

3. Talk about your opponent, what do you have to do to win?
They’ve got a good offense. We’ve got to hit Bloom early and hit him often. It’s going to be a real test for us.

Then let's do it. The guys know what's up. I'll let you fire them up.

Ponder to WR1
Saunders to WR3
Zeller to WR4

Primary Receiver = Saunders

LOCK IN

Good. I think the changes worked for us on defense. San Antonio's the bugga-boo but right now the focus has to be on Oakland. We've kicked the shit out of them twice but Pitts going down hurts as he's had some big games. I was thinking of using Ponder outside, Saunders at the 3rd wide receiver and one of Zeller/Smith as our #4 over Hanlon. Thoughts?

Polling Place / Re: S10 AWARDS - HEAD COACH OF THE YEAR

Shaun Saint, hands down. He turned a team that missed the play-offs and had problems executing at key times to a top squad. Everyone shit on Vegas at the start of the season and we had the best record in the league for most of the season.

Also - zero MVP candidates when each of the other teams have one. That's a good coach.

I chose Robles but that's because I'd have taken Daley over Patton. You look at how much of a difference there is in San Antonio this year and that too me shows how valuable Daley is.

GM Greenlight deserves it. He turned an Eddie dumpster-fire into a playoff team.

1. With the playoffs starting, what is your number one priority as the GM?
Win.

2. Who was your regular season MVP for the league, and also on your own team?
Team – Gordon Goulet. Dude had a monster year on defense and is the pre-eminent line backer in this league. League – Curt Robles.

3. What is the biggest match up this week for your game ?
Our front’s ability to get after the quarterback. Oakland’s done a good job of keeping the QB clean. We dominate the line of scrimmage, we win.

4. What will it take to advance to the next round of the playoffs?
Win.

Yeah - we played 'em good for 3 quarters though and made some evaluation possible but I think it's now time to take care of business against San Antonio. I don't think there's much of anything else this week outside of re-setting our lineup.

General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS

1. Talk about this weeks performance from your team.
I think we struggled on third down and committed some uncharacteristic penalties. We stayed healthy though and that’s important heading into our matchup with San Antonio this week.

2. With the playoffs coming up, what do you hope to achieve in this final week?
I think we want to win the football game every week. I think a famous football coach once said something to the effect of “you play to win the game”.

3. Who scares you most in the current pool of playoff contenders, who do you hope misses out on the playoffs?
We’re not scared of any team in this league. If we play our game we’re confident in our abilities to come out on top.

4. What do you need to do to win this next game?
We played them to overtime earlier this season. I think it’s going to be a tight game and it’s going to be who makes that one extra big play. We focus on our assignments, we take care of our business we’ll be there at the end of the day.

Well - shit. What's your feeling on this outside of the impending Q-Score bump? I mean - in many respects if it's you there's not much I can do to avert it but I'll do what I can to help. You'll have to face the music as it were but we've employed a PR firm in the past who can probably help prep you if that's something you think would be of benefit as well.

I think the first thing I want to do is commend you for keeping it all quiet this year. That takes a hell of a man James. Thanks Gordon, thanks Coach. I’d like to address the entire team first out on the practice field.
---
Guys, I know it’s rare to see me come out here. This is your guys’ turf, not mine, and you’ve got a great coaching staff who gets you prepared out here to succeed on Sundays. That being said I wanted to come down here to let you know how proud I am to this point of what we’ve accomplished and my confidence in what we’re going to accomplish the rest of the season. Outside of this group there was a lot of doubt at the start of the season at what we could be. Nobody outside this facility predicted us to be what we are now. The way we’ve come together this season is amazing. When I look around I don’t see divisions, I don’t see people out for themselves. I see a cohesive unit. I see the BEST TEAM in the HIFL.

We’ve had a ton happen to us this year; we’ve had guys come home, become Superman, or take that next leap on the field. We’ve had guys that have been here since before me, guys who joined us after camp, and guys who came in at mid-season. We’ve had injuries and weather and all those little things beyond our control. We’ve had the media circling this team like hawks and all of that has galvanized us; has made us a stronger team, a better team. We’ve got the number one record in the league, we control our destiny because we’re not just the best team on the field, but off of it, and that’s a testament to the character of each and everyone of you in this room.

That’s going to carry us through the next six weeks of work that it’s going to take to be Impact Bowl champions. That bond … that “brotherhood” that’s built up over the last sixteen weeks of the regular season, through camp, through OTA’s, through everything – that’s going to be the reason we’re champions. Stand together. Stand united. Remember that too a man this team has your back; if you need something, look to your left, look to your right, those guys have your back. Look at coach. Look at me. We’ve got your back.

I feel it in my bones. I feel it in my heart. We’ve got something special here guys. We’ve got six weeks of work. We’re going up against some good teams but man, they don’t know what they’re coming up against. Let’s do it. Let’s shock the world. Let’s prove everyone who at the started the year counted us out wrong.

GM METRO PAUSES THAN LAUGHS SUBTLY TO HIMSELF.

I normally end these sort of things a certain way; I can’t tell if it’s ironic or just fitting on this team this year. I wasn’t going to say it but man …

LET’S FUCK ‘EM GOOD!!!

Cool - I'll let you get at it. I'll send everything final down at the end of the week. I'll talk to Gordon now and then the team after practice.
---
Demi, can get me Gordon Goulet.
---
Gordon, you're having a hell of a year this year. Pro-bowl, looking like a sure fire All-Pro and the leader of the best defense in the league. This week we're going to let that wrist heal a bit this week but after that I'm hoping you can make a big move for us. I hate moving you out of the middle of the defense but we've got a big gap at strong safety and with the teams we're looking at facing come the playoffs more focused on moving the ball through the air we'd like you to fill it. Coach said he'll have you working with the DB's over the next two weeks to get ready. I know you're up for the challenge.

General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS
« on: September 18, 2018, 03:01:15 PM »
Sounds good. Are you comfortable with the secondary as is. I'd love to keep Hickey off of IR in case he's capable of playing come late in the playoffs but don't want to leave us extra thin all over the place.

28
General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS
« on: September 18, 2018, 11:54:16 AM »
Ok - I'll talk to Gordon after we're done to let him know. Anything we can do this week with his training to help him out for that given he's not going to play this week with the injury? I'm thinking we'll let Milligan play in the Nickle this week against Tombstone and then spring this on San Antonio. Shift to the 4-2-5 to at least get Nutt on the field.

29
General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS
« on: September 18, 2018, 06:45:41 AM »
Then I think we need to do it. I'm more worried about our cover ability in the Nickle - Shaq and Joseph can step up at the second level and we have to hope our front four can get pressure. Do we want to go with a big bear front by putting Nutt at OLB and Marshall in on the line in base or do we want to put Jorge in and keep Gordo in the middle? Basically does Jorge have the tackling ability to be passable at strong safety, or maybe Mullins deep and have Jorge out wide?

30
General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS
« on: September 17, 2018, 10:11:44 PM »
Who's got the better cover skills, Milligan or Gordo? I'd trust our other line backers to clean up and we could bring some extra heat as well.

31
General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS
« on: September 17, 2018, 09:38:02 PM »
Cool - on to the Hickey scenario. What do you think of Milligan. He's probably our best option in the secondary but could we get fancy with how athletic our linebackers are if we wanted? Is there enough speed where we could run a 4-2-5 Nickle with one of them playing strong safety and then go to a bear front when we're in base.

32
General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS
« on: September 17, 2018, 09:22:39 PM »
Shelley sits for Izzy
Smith and Kendrick at Tailback
Ponder/Saunders/Lovell as our 3 WR's
Marshall in for Mayo on the line.

I also think we put Beck in for Gordon regardless given his injury status. We'll need to spend a bit of time looking at what we're going to do to cover for Hickey being out as well.

Well - that's news to me then as well. Good to see Punters are people too. In some respects though I wish I could go a season without punter drama - between Keyser wanting to be a place kicker and now this. That's my problem though - not yours. Thanks a bunch Larry.
---
Demi, I'd like to speak to Coach Saint now. If you could get let him now. Thanks.
---
Coach, my apologies for last week and the beginning of this week. My thanks for how you've handled this as well while I've been dealing with the Kardashian garbage. I've got a good handle on it now but there's some ... sensitivity around things right now. I'll want to speak to the team early on this week after a practice if that's ok. Beyond that though - I think we should talk about the next two weeks. I hate to look past Tombstone but at the end of the day I don't see San Antonio losing to Long Beach and that makes it moot. We go to San Antonio for the #1 seed.

With that in mind I was thinking of going with the #2's this week and playing fairly vanilla. Protect us against injury wherever possible and make sure our guys are 100%, or as close too, against San Antonio. What are your thoughts?

I understand - that'd be dirty pool. I'm going to do some more leg work on it this week. I can't promise you anything Jarrett because too much of this is out of my control but I'm going to do everything possible to make sure shit doesn't happen here. That I can say. We'll chat soon.
---
Demi, can you let Coach Saint know that I'm still caught up in this Kardashian bullshit and that we'll talk soon. Then can you get me Larry Wilkinson please?
---
Larry, I can't say enough how much I appreciate all the work you've done on this Kardashian file for us. I just want to cross reference some of our information against your observations. You said there's been a number of players that have been out with Miss Kardashian - I've confirmed; Shelley, Corbett, Pitts, Nutt, Barclay, Carrier, Barkley, Mullins - is there anyone else on your list? It may have been a low-key occurrence given I don't believe this name has been reported and I think TMZ has been all over this.

I know - I'm working on it Jarrett. It's been a crazy couple of weeks with all this stuff going on but I've been proud of how you and the rest of the team have handled your business while still pumping your Q-Score's up. Is there anything else you can add on this Kardashian saga - I know there's been a ton of smoke and mirrors involved but anything might be something at this point.

1. Talk about this weeks performance from your team.
We took care of business. It was a complete team effort in all three phases of the game. We’ve set ourselves up so that we control our destiny going forward in so far as the division and the conference.

2. Talk about your team's news this week.
It’s been a recurring theme over the past couple of weeks. My answer does not change over time; our players are entitled to have a personal life. They are football players, yes, but first and foremost they are human beings and are entitled to enjoy their time away from the gridiron the same as everyone else does. Sure, there are rules that we hold everyone accountable too; that their activities do not jeopardize their ability to perform on the field and that they meet the acceptable standards of conduct we expect out of a contributing member of society. Beyond that they are free to do as they please.

3. Talk about at least two other news stories of interest.
I think Carmine Barone’s comments in Milwaukee carry truth to it – that’s a team that is growing together and has a number of exciting young players. The other thing I think of note, really amongst a multitude of the games this week, was veteran players stepping up to keep their teams playoff hopes alive. We’re all too familiar with Curt Robles but Gio Hill had a hell of a game too.

4. What do you have to do to win the game this week?
Play Scorpion’s football.

I'm just saying there's so much bravado around this scenario. People are looking at making a buck and getting the publicity and there name out there by being seen with this Kardashian girl. You told me you were sure it wasn't yours and I originally left it at that but thinking back I maybe should've pressed a bit more. How can you be sure it's not yours?

General Manager's Office / Re: TEAM : LAS VEGAS SCORPIONS

Well - that's a good thing in this scenario. Honestly, I know it's a little weird having this discussion with another dude but don't sweat it. You left after you freshman year of University and have been super focused on making it big in the pro's. I'm not going to do the wait until marriage bullshit but it comes eventually. There's a ton of talk out there dude, in the locker room, on the internet about players and I'm telling you a lot of it's bullshit. It's a lot easier to talk the talk in this scenario than walk the walk. Take care David - putting in the good work and results will come on and off the field.
---
Can you get Shaq back in here please.
---
Shaq, I know we had a quick talk about you being worried this Kardashian kid is yours. When you're saying your confident it's not your's - you weren't bullshitting me were you? Call it a gut feeling but as I've gone through this week and I've been thinking about this team and how cohesive we are as a unit that I don't feel like that kid could physically be yours. Is that the case?

David Nutt please Demi.
---
David, wanted to see how you're adapting to life in the pro's. I've heard good things coming up from the practice field and you're taking advantage of opportunities on the field. I know earlier this year there was the incident and you wanted to handle it yourself and I've not heard anything since so I want to commend you for that. With this entire Kardashian deal on the pregnancy front I hadn't heard from you and so I wanted to touch base. I'm not sure if you've seen her or what not since that incident but if there's a chance your the father I wanted to let you know we can provide support or I can back right off again if you want to continue to handle your business, or good for you and your bank account - you're not the father.

Joseph, how's it going. You've had an awesome year on the other boundary from Shane. I think we got a really good shot this year and you're a big part of that as long as we can keep our focus. This entire Kardashian drama - I heard that there's some worry in the locker room about what it all means and I'm trying to do my best to get to the bottom of this to try and get everyone's mind at ease. What's your thoughts on the matter?

Understood. That's locker room talk but I'm also cognizant of the fact that there's some bravado involved in conversations like that. I know in my personal experience that there's been times that I may have exaggerated a little bit in that regard, pulled a "Michael Lane" as it were. Any chance that's applicable here?

Yeah - shit. That's probably what I'd be saying too. I empathize with you man. There's enough songs out there about this scenario coming to fruition. Let me keep working through this and we'll see what's up but I understand it's a lot on your plate.

John Pitts please Demi.

John, it's been an awesome season so far and you're a big part of that. I sleep better at night knowing we've got you on the outside lighting corners up in the passing game. What's your take on this Kardashian affair? I know there's worry in the locker room about who's the father of her kid.
