You've been banging them in all season Roman, yes it hurt the team, but overall, you have aided us on path toward the playoffs. Keep that in mind this week.

Selina, pass this note to our coaches, thanks.

S10 WEEK 17 - PLAYOFF CONTENDERS

1. Talk about this weeks performance from your team.

This is why we love football isn't it? After the disappointment of last week's draw there's the high of doing the double over a division rival. I don't share GM Eli's hatred of the state of Michigan, nor GM Kirk's hatred of Powers, but it's still a very satisfying feeling this week. People have accused this team of being boring in the past but this week surely puts that to rest. We came back from a blocked punt and lost fumble in the first half to win this one in what turned out to be a real thriller. The coaches did a great job planning for this game and they deserve a huge amount of credit for that. I challenged Coach Thompson to turn yards into points this week and he did a great job. Of course it's the players who go out there and do it. I was very pleased to see our defensive rookies making crucial tackles and TD saving PDs and to see Alfred showing them the way with his 5 vital PDs. Against a QB like Hill the secondary has to be sharp and first to the ball every time. We saw what can happen when that doesn't work but through the game we were able to frustrate Michigan's pass attack.
Special mention this week has to go to King Carmazzi though. He stepped into a tough situation when Corey went down but he came in and led the team brilliantly. Some of his passing was a joy to watch and he even managed to gain as many yards on the ground than the entire Michigan team. It was an excellent performance he should be very proud of.

2. With the playoffs coming up, what do you hope to achieve in this final week? (tailor to fit your current playoff scenario)

Obviously I hope to secure our playoff spot. It's in our own hands at least so now we need to deliver. With our injuries this week, though, what I would like to see is the replacements step up to take their chance. Carmazzi and Dodds did great things this week and showed glimpses of their potential but that was one game. They'll both be starting this week in a high pressure situation and I want to see them thrive on it. It'll cause a selection headache for me if they do but that's the kind of headache you want.

3. Who scares you most in the current pool of playoff contenders, who do you hope misses out on the playoffs?

St Paul is the obvious answer. Their roster is worth over $20m more than ours and that's enabled them to pack that defence with studs throughout. It's very difficult to compete with an uneven field like that. As for who I want to miss out, Alabama. Simply because that guarantees is a place in.

4. What do you need to do to win this next game?

We need to stay focused and to play each snap as it comes. We can't be looking to the future or watching what other teams are doing. Win and a playoff spot is ours. Everything else is a distraction.

1. Talk about this weeks performance from your team.

We went out there and handled our business. Warriors came in there looking for a fight and we gave it to them. We didn't give up we fought to the very end and was able to pick up the win. Strong defensive game this week and helluva game on the ground. Once again I am proud of the group of men we have on this club. I like seeing the vibrant growth of this team and organization and excited for the future.

2. Which player on your team do you have your eye on in this final game, and why?

Every. Last. One.

I'm not going to sit here and single out any player. I've been looking at every player in each game since I've got here. Getting know them on and off the field and monitoring their growth and development. Just cause this is the last game doesn't mean I'm looking at just one player or this process is gonna end. I'll tell you one thing....Montero is proving to be a player that people should keep note of going forward.

3. Talk about the playoff race, who do you think will make it, who is going to join you on the outside looking in?

Think it's gonna be a tough one to see who makes it in and out to be quite honest. Our conference is pretty competitive so this weekend is gonna be huge to determine whose in or out. My predictions to make it to the bowl game is Vegas vs. DC. Not the popular vote but that's what I'm feeling as of right now. I think Miami might be in for an upset...Not counting this weekend's game against us, haha.

4. What do you hope to see from your team in this final week of the season?

"I thought the same, I'd be lying if they didn't have me worried and thinking back to our earlier match-up in KC. But now we're one step away from getting a chance in the playoffs. Don't think we need to change anything for Portland, we stick to our bread and butter. Agree Coach?"

Kansas City shellshocked us early, but I'm happy with how the defense rebounded late.. We showed some character.

SEATTLE LUMBERJACKS
PRESS CONFERENCE

WEEK 17

1. Talk about this weeks performance from your team.

"Resilient. Kansas City kicked our butts in the first quarter, but credit to this coaching staff and to our players making making the adjustments necessary and dominating from the second quarter on. Impressive run game, impressive run defense. If we can keep playing like we did over the final three quarters today, we can beat anyone."

2. With the playoffs coming up, what do you hope to achieve in this final week?

"We need to take care of business against our rivals in the PNW. We hope to achieve the first of many more trips to the postseason for this franchise."

3. Who scares you most in the current pool of playoff contenders, who do you hope misses out on the playoffs?

"I don't think any team scares us. We've beaten every team in our division, we know how tough those teams in Vegas and San Antonio are. But we're confident that we can beat anyone. We obviously hope it's Oakland that misses out on the playoffs, because that mean we're in."

4. What do you need to do to win this next game?

"We need to keep our composure and take it one play at a time. If we play like we have pressure on ourselves, it opens up the potential to make mistakes. If we just play our game, our style... we should leave Portland with the franchise's first postseason berth."

All fair points. Do me one favor, please do not vacation in vacation isle. I really you want you back in one piece coach....

all jokes aside, I want to thank you for sticking with me through all the early season drama. Getting this team ready and fired up for every game. Thank you and the rest of the coaching staff. Now let's go and end this season on a high note.

Same as last week.

No tweaks, its not the time to get cute.  We know our team, we just have to hope Keenan can handle his first true clutch-game and get us to the #1 seed.

Agreed. We can make a statement with a win this week. We've made our way this year by basically lining up with what we've got game in game out and rolling with it. I'm thinking we go with what brought us here and don't change anything, but I was curious if you had anything you'd like to tweak this week...
