Ms. Mera can we get back with Jon Rudino on the line.

John not rushing anything just checking how the job search is going and seeing if anyone else has left the impression that Lomg Beach has?

Well now that I know your open to this position. Lets talk specifics.  This defense needs a lot of work. It lacks an identity so what would you wish to implement here in the LBC?

An ideal defense for me is a 3-4 team that can attack, but plays a more balanced game, the sport is evolving so a team needs to be as frightening on the attack from the nickle as they do the base set, so athletic DE's who can be OLB's in the right formation is key along with strong corners on the outside.

Philosophically I agree with you Coach. And let me add to it. With the way other leagues have been handling defensive rules speed is going to be the key especially at those end positions.

Now for what im looking for. This defense wont change overnight it will take at least 2 drafts and some luck in free agency to turn it around.  This means im looking for a long term commitment to see it through. So im looking at 3 or 4 years.

Is that something you could agree to?

I wouldn't sign for anything shorter than 4 years, it will take time like you said, I want to see this defense become the most feared in all of football. Let me scout the players and get the guys I want in the system and you won't regret it.

I've got 3 other teams on hold waiting to sign me, I think we can do better, even though this is a home coming, a 4 year commitment is going to take more than that.

I'd hate to dissapoint those other teams.  Fair enough I'll give you my highest offer available and not beat around the bush.  Our Head Coach is making 4.5 Million and I am adamant to respect the hierarchy of that and not pay someone else as as much or more than him.

So my offer for you is 4 years 4.25 Million.

Hello GM Pancho, Sir Curry has asked me to inform you that we have a $10MM budget for scouting this off-season, this is all covered by him and will not affect our budget for the rest of the season.  Please remember this scouting money is for both the college draft and free agents, plan wisely.  If you need a refresher on how much scouting costs, it is on page 9 of your GM handbook... http://espnsportssims.net/index.php?topic=1155.msg28962#msg28962

Please be advised, scouting trips are unavailable due to the college season being over.

We are required to attend the combine before we can do any interviews or workouts after the combine, if you have any questions please feel free to ask, I'll be at my desk fixing my hair.

Having returned from the combine and seeing the unprofessional attitude of some of the General Managers; GM Pancho feels compelled to act.

Ms. Mera can you take a letter and send it to the Alabama Nighthawks.

Dear GM Reya Serra Janason,

I feel compelled to write this letter because I know what it's like to break into the boys club that is known as general managing a professional organization.  I've seen my fair share of ridicule thrown my way for the color of my skin.  It hurts.  It hurts a lot.  And when you think you've done enough in a league to earn their respect it never quite seems enough.  I've even dealt with agents that found it a point to use my heritage as a laughing point as if we had some sort of friendship established that this was okay.

I understand your friend Paxar wanting to protect you.  Having a friend like that will be more important than you may even know.  Let her know that I did not take it personal.  Had my sister been in the same situation I fear she would have done much worse.

Understand that in me you have a friend.  A confidant but also a competitor.  I wish you look ... but not too much luck.

Also Ms. Mera ... here's that 20 I owe you.  Looks like you were right.  He's not Sting.

Ms. Mera can we call in Coach Ginobili?

------

Coach I just wanted to run something by you.  Looking at our staff I feel we are really stacked at our receiving core.  So stacked that I feel we are losing out on talent because we can't get them any playing time.

What do you think about converting Lynwood Hunter into a RB to be able to sub him into packages on the field and get him more playing time?

I thought so but it's always good to get the affirmation of someone with a knowledge and experience of the game as you do Coach.

I'll make sure to speak with Lynwood after our conversation ends but I had a second question to run by you.

Are there any players on our defense that didn't get a chance to start?  Coach Seau and I were talking during his interview process and I wanted to know who hasn't gotten a chance to show what they have.

Now before you start, let me introduce myself.  I'm Eli Harris.  I don't play games, I don't do bidding wars, I simply give our asking price and I will hear one counter offer. I have a lot of work to do around the league today, so let's get this done.

Leake is looking for 4 years, 4.5MM and 1MM in PR

Your going to be given an opportunity to start in training camp.  You were taken in the 1st round for a reason.  But you've got to show that your capable of that responsibility by taking care of your conditioning and how well you adapt to the position.  DE isn't the same as LB.
