Thank you for all you did for the franchise. I will always be proud of what we accomplished. Best wishes to you in your new journey back home.

"Mrs. Snow, thanks for the opportunity to continue the legacy of St. Paul. GM Gooch really built a solid foundation and I'm excited about the chance to see if we can't break through the proverbial glass ceiling."

"As I get caught up, and comb through the roster, is there any particular player that you want to see re-signed? Moved/traded? I'm familiarizing myself with the roster but wanted to check and see your feelings before I moved forward with anything."

Hello GM Rebel!  It's great to have you here and hungry to help us win!

I would love to see Daniel Maxley kept on our roster, or Waylon Hagan, but with Hagan's refusal to be franchise tagged and the consequences that would come with such a play, and with our overall budgetary restrictions, we're going to have a tough time keeping either I fear.

One option is to trade highly sought after LB Stephen Leake, but he is just as impacting for our defense as Hagan or Maxley, so I feel we really just need to decide which part of our defense is our primary financial focus.

We have a handful of players we can not trade without getting them to waive the no-trade clause in their fully guaranteed contracts, Carr, McCaffrey, Afamasaga, Love, Faamaona, and Craig Schwartz.

"Thanks for your advise, Mrs. Snow."

--

"Elsa, could you get John Carr and Mike Maker on the line for me, please."

--

"Gentlemen, it's good to see both of you. I wanted to let you know that St. Paul's headed in a new direction w/ a new GM and a new coaching staff. John, I can't tell you how much I respect you and what you've done in this league. I thought you deserved to know before the draft and UFA begins that we're going to go in a different at starter at QB as well this year."

"And because of that respect, if you no longer want to be in St. Paul, I'd be glad to do my best to accommodate a trade to your preferred destination."

I appreciate you being up front with me.  I would accept a trade anywhere that plans on me to be the starter. The only team I'd veto no matter what, is Long  Beach.

I figured we'd be slapped with a tag instead of even negotiating a long term deal.. That's fine, we'll sign the tender and finalize the deal, but we'll need a $4.8MM Signing bonus to finalize the deal.

I'll do that, but we'll have to sign the Franchise tag first, and to do that we need that 4.8MM in Signing Bonus on the deal.

I'll send you our destinations right now.

PR CAMPAIGNS

1. Alesana Tuilagi - "Moso's Footprint" - $500k
The giant Samoan comes with heavy fanfare -- one of the best athletes in the entire world. In Samoan lore, the giant Moso stepped from Fiji to Samoa in one single leap. There is a 1x3m hole in the shape of a footprint at the base of the Fiji mountains. Much like Samoan lore, Alesana enters the HIFL hoping to leave his mark in the league and in St. Paul.

$250k: Commercials all over the midwest region from Tuilagi's storied Rugby career. Clips of him crushing a homerun for the Samoan national team and working with NBL legends Rikishi Uso and Amini Fatu. The commercial ends with Anderson Ginobili going through QB drills at St. Paul's practice facility. It ends with Tuilagi holding a football out with one hand, crushing the air out of it, and cracking a trademark smile ... the screen fades with a voiceover: "The Samoan footprint leaving a legacy in St. Paul."

$250k: For every home game, 20 lucky fans (with at least 5 coming from Samoa) will be selected to sit in a special section behind the end zone. Every time Tuilagi scores a touchdown -- on the ground or through the air -- the section will preform a special football themed Haka to pay homage to Tuilagi's heritage.

2. Adrian McCaffrey - "Catch-22" - $500k
The definition of catch-22 is: "a situation presenting two equally undesirable alternatives." It defines McCaffrey perfectly ... run or pass, Adrian puts defenders in the impossible situation trying to defend him from taking one to the house. Also a representing his #22 jersey.

$250k: The entry lobby to St. Paul's stadium will have a larger-than-life statue of Adrian McCaffrey smack dab in the middle -- everybody who enters the building through the main gate will have to walk past. On one side, he'll have the home jersey and on the other our away jersey. On one side, kids can challenge a virtual McCaffrey to a race and the other can catch passes from a slowed-dance jug machine manned by a St. Paul employee.

$250k: For the first home game of the season, each fan will receive a St. Paul blue #22 towel with a McCaffrey stamped signature to twirl.

3. Stephen Leake - "Plug the Gap" - $250k
"No leaks on St. Paul's defense with Stephen Leake roaming the field."

250k: Stephen will become a spokesperson for the GAP. Commercials, ad campaigns, and a pop-up GAP store inside the Lynx stadium.

4. Douglas Markham - "X Marks the Spot" - $500k

250k: Acquire the rights to DMX's "X Gonna Give it To Ya" song. Every time Markham gets a sack, the song will play throughout the arena. A section of the arena will be given foam X's for each home game and will hold up in unison when Markham makes a big play.

250k: St. Paul and Douglas Markham will partner with Minnesota based Buffalo Wild Wings to create a new "Lynx" sauce: a BBQ sauce blend selected by Markham and will be used on all advertisements and menus for the upcoming season.

5. Mikel Moore - "M&M" - $500k

250k: A new St. Paul inspired M&M color will be added for the season.

250k: "Mikel's Manor -- M&M Lane" You've heard of Revis Island ... welcome to M&M Lane. This side of the field is occupied by Mikel Moore and he'll decide if you'll be welcomed in.

6. Su'a Fetu - "Malietoa" - $250k
"Maliatoa" is the Samoan word for Warrior King or Great Warrior. The Tongan warriors would chant "Malie To`a, Malo e tau"... or in English: "great warrior, thank you for the war". After every big play, the chant "Malie To`a, Malo e tau" will resound throughout the Lynx arena.

MUSICAL LICENSES

1. "Let's go Crazy" by Prince (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXJhDltzYVQ)
Minnesota's own, Prince, lends his high energy in this song to help get the crowd up-and-moving before their Lynx come out of the tunnel.

2. "I Believe" by KB (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvROpq_UkXc)
Song will play at the beginning of the second half. Playing off USA's soccer run several years ago, the "I Believe We Will Win" chat over KB's beat will signify the the action is ready to continue and the Lynx are ready to close out the game!

1. Use three words to classify how your off-season went, and explain.

"Reset, reboot, and reload."

"St. Paul is used to winning ways -- there's no doubt bout it. GM Gooch did a tremendous job with this franchise and shaping it for the future. Unfortunately, we had to make some extremely difficult decisions this offseason: seeing a number of pretty good players walk out the door. However, with our new coaching staff and an infusion of young talent to our roster, we're fairly excited about what's to come here this season. We're pretty excited about the young QB we've got ready to unleash on the HIFL and in continuing in St. Paul fashion -- a stout defense that's ready for the challenge."

2. Coming out of training camp, where do you rank your team in the division, in the conference, and in the league?

"We have high expectations. Our owner demands excellence and we're going to do our best to achieve that. I'm expecting us to compete for not only a division crown but a conference championship. There isn't an easy win in this entire league ... we don't go in with the mindset that we have the ability to take anybody lightly. Every win in the HIFL is earned and not given.

3. Do you have any position battles planned for the preseason?  Which jobs are up for grabs and what do you hope to gain from the preseason games?

"We've got a lot of young guys on the roster and guys competing to replace some major names on our defense. We're excited to see what they've got. We'll talk to our coaches and see what they're thinking and get after it in the preseason."

"Any questions?"

"With the departure of Coach Joan Swope, Daniel Maxley, Waylon Hagan, and even John Carr..

Are you concerned expectations will be too high for this team that is under new management in so many different areas?"

"We're aware of the expectations placed upon us. I'm confident that our guys will answer the challenge at the end of the day ... we're ready to compete. These guys are tough, physical, and playing with a chip on their shoulder. I won't speak for all of them but I think they're a bit tired of hearing about all the guys who have left and are ready to go to war with the ones who are here. I think we're going to be just fine."

"Obviously, the biggest one is quarterback play. How did Tuilagi handle the pressures of his first camp behind center? We knew he was athletic, and had all the ability in the world: but how'd he make out?"

"I have no doubt about that. I hate to see us go conservative knowing that we've got a couple guys who could break one at any moment -- but should we lean run dominant at the moment? We know what McCaffrey can do, but I think we've got a few other playmakers on this team and I don't want to stifle that. What do you think?"

I am fine with leaning towards the run, but I definitely prefer a passing attack or even a close balance.  Even in Lincoln with two talented running backs, I do not like to forget the air assault.

"I've got no problem with that, coach. I'm happy to see us air it out. I'm going to make my rounds, I'll get back with you soon."

"Coach Woods, please."

"Coach, it's a privilege to have you working with our team this season. I appreciated your assessment on Tuilagi and hope that between you and coach Ginobili, he'll be up to speed in no time. You mentioned OL in your review that Torres was slowing down on the offensive line. Do you think he'll be serviceable this season or should we begin the process of looking for an upgrade immediately?"

I think he should be serviceable unless we have the money to go out and get one of the better free agents like Sapp, Wentworth, or Hardwick.. Those would all be longer term options who are also better players overall, but if we aren't willing to pay them we might as well not bother.

"Amber Molina, please."

"Amber, I made a huge mistake in not filing the paperwork for Douglas Markham's contract. Can we rectify that with an additional $2m in bonus money? That would bring his total deal to three years, $2m per season with $2m bonus."
