Hey Tyson this is Rex Evans, general manager of the St. Paul Lynx. I was just curious to know a little bit about your experience. Did you play pro ball? What kind of achievements have you had as a coach? What kind of defense do you like to run?

I'm rambling, I apologize, just a bunch of questions floating around my mind.

Back in Season 1 I was drafted in the 18th round of expansion.  I was the starting SS for Orlando for Season 1. I played all 16 games, made 50 tackles and had 1 sack and 1 INT for a TD... The next season I was cut, signed by Lincoln and cut again before the season started... never played again.  Been coaching as a coordinator for Siena ever since. I run a 4-3 that plays conservative coverage instead of blitzing.

Sorry that you didn't get to play longer in the league. I'm going to keep your name in mind. I like everything you've said, but I prefer a blitzing 4-3 rather than conservative. We might be back in touch though sir.

Is Atreyu Seau available? If so could you ask him the same question and then patch him through for his answer.

I coach both 4-3 and 3-4 defenses, either one is fine with me.  I was a top flight Linebacker, and I pass that knowledge to my players. I like to attack attack attack with blitzing packages from whatever formation I am asked to run. I retired after season 1, I played for the Mermen, but it was after a nice long career in another league where I am more than likely a hall of famer.

I really like the sound of that Atreyu. Were you looking to become a Head Coach or a Coordinator? I think you'd be perfect to slot into the our DC spot, but I don't want you to miss your chance at an HC position.

I have only been coaching 3 years, I would spend some more time as a DC if you're offering a competitive contract.

I'd be looking for around 4-5.5MM to be a coordinator, I still feel I could get a head coaching job.

Like the name says, I like to get after the quarterback, I run a 4-3 scheme with lots of blitzing, I was a college scout for 10 years, been coaching for the past 3 with the University of Tennessee as their DC.

No problem Mr. Evans, I'm a former pro QB, pro bowler actually.  I won a championship early on but now I specialize in improving QB play.  I like a balanced attack though, just because I focus on the QB doesnt mean he needs to pass all the time.  I can also work out of any scheme and be fine..

I'm liking what I'm hearing. Do you have defensive experience that would open you up to being a head coach as well or are you solely focused on offense?

Alright thanks for letting me know. I like what you have to offer, Dallas. But I'd like to look around to try to find my head coach before finding my OC if that's okay. If you get another OC offer elsewhere, I'd love you to give me a chance to counter. We'll be in touch.

Hello sir, I'm Brian Smith, 2 time pro bowler in the HIFL in my only two seasons in the league.  I was drafted by New Jersey #2 overall.  Ran for 3342 yards and 17 touchdowns in that time. I retired at 27 because I saw my best friend's son in college blow out his knee in a bowl game and he hasn't walked right since, and I didn't want that to be me, so I left the game as a player and have been an OC for the past two years.  When Jersey lost the team to the Chinese ownership group I decided to opt out of my deal and now I am pursuing a head coaching job.

I am a run first kind of coach about 65/35 split, but I also believe in an aggressive defense that can disrupt the game.  As a former running back I know that when the defense hit me with a brain jarring hit, I didn't want the ball again for a few plays, so if we do that to the opposing team we win the mental battle.

Wow, you just impressed the hell out of me Brian. My name is Rex Evans, general manager of the St. Paul Lynx and I just happen to be looking for a head coach. I loved everything you had to say except one detail. Would you be open to narrowing that run/pass split a bit? Maybe more of a 55/45?

I am a strong believer in the passing game. I like to spread em out and throw the ball.  It can be from the shotgun or from under center, but using the QB to not only win games but shatter records is what I love to see on the field.

I specialize in passing, but I am not saying I won't do something else, I'll still work to improve the quarterback's abilities.  We could always do a 1 year deal as a trial run.
