Understood coach, we could shoot for 55/45 if it makes you more comfortable.

I'm willing to compromise Coach, so we can try 55/45.  I will let you get back to practice.

Ms. Dossey, can I speak with James O'Rourke please.

James, we missed you on the field this past week.  How is the hamstring feeling?

Don't push it too hard, we don't want to risk further injury.  Keep working with the medical staff and we will re-evaluate you before the game.  I will let you get back to it.

Ms. Dossey, Talon Wilkinson II please.

TWII, 3 sacks through the first 3 games, you're off to a great start.  You're adapting to the pro game wonderfully

I bet so.  Keep up the good work.

Ms. Dossey, Craig Schwartz please.

Craig, a big game this past week, but unfortunately we fell short.  How do you feel about our defense so far this season?

Yeah, we do.  We will only get better.  I will let you get back to practice.

Ms. Dossey, John Young please.

John, you've had a pretty good start to the season.  But I wanted to touch base with you and encourage you not to get down about the dropped balls thus far.  We just have to keep working and it will translate on game day.

Your speed is definitely a sigh to behold. I see plenty of big of big games in your future.  Just continue to work hard and the issue will get corrected. Go ahead and get back to practice.

Ms. Dossey, let's go ahead and lock in.

Set pass/run ratio to 55/45

Set blitz ratio to 40%

Position Training

-5 hours for John Young
-5 hours for Tim Collier
-3 hours for Dak Prescott
-3 hours for James O'Rourke

Lock in

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?

-Well to be completely honest, that game was a complete and total shitbomb.  Not much went right and a lot went wrong. Couldn't pass the ball, couldn't catch the ball, couldn't convert on third down, bunch of penalties, turnovers, and had trouble protecting the quarterback.  Our defense is solid and kept us in the game and our kick return game is arguably the best in the league.  That's all I have to say about this game.

2. Which of your division rivals has surprised you the most so far this season?

-Our division doesn't get much respect because we don't have the big flashy numbers.  However, we all have tough defenses and that's where our bread and butter is. If I had to pick a team I would say Long Beach.  I believe they are a good quarterback away from making a big leap.

3. With where you sit in the standings, do you feel it is a true reflection of your team? Where do you feel you should stand, and who on your team is most responsible for your current standing?

-For now, I think it's a good assessment.  I'm new to the team, we have a whole new coaching staff with new schemes.  I knew it was going to take our guys some time to get settled in and really gel.  But I really like our team and think we are moving in the right direction as a franchise.

4. What has been the biggest challenge for your team so far this season, and who would you say was your teams' most improved?

-We just can't seem to catch the ball.  We've had 20 drops in the past two games.  That's unacceptable and something we really need to address.  I'm new to the team so it's hard to say who is the most improved, but I will say that I am impressed with Roy Roberts.  The guy is a tackling machine and as a rookie he has handled things like a true professional as we have asked him to play different positions already.  Very impressed with him.

5. Talk to us about your upcoming game this week.  What will be the toughest thing to prepare for this week?

-Tulsa is coming to town and we expect a fight.  They have a very good run game and we are going to have to stop it if we want a chance to win.  We need to get pressure on the quarterback and limit how many times their backs get to the second level.

Understood coach.  And yes, the drops are killing us.  I believe we could be in a lot better position if we can just catch the ball and keep drives going.  I'm at a loss for words at the moment, I'm not sure what we can do to improve.  Is there anything you can think of or is it something that we just have to pray gets better as the season carries on?

These are young kids at Wide Receiver... it might not be a bad thing to get on their asses with a fiery speech.  Not "Hall of Champions" or anything overboard, but letting them know their jobs aren't guaranteed if they keep it up?  They might not be happy about it, but it might spark a fire.

Gotcha, coach.  What do you think of possibly moving Leroy Brown in the slot on certain packages?  Think that could help the passing game?

Very well then.  Looks like we should have O'Rourke back for this weeks game.  That should be a boost to the passing game.  We will move back to the 65/35 ratio as well.  Other than the drops, do you have any other concerns about the offense at the moment?

Agreed coach.  Hopefully with O'Rourke back our offense can pick back up and take some pressure off of our defense.  Speaking of defense, how do you feel our guys are progressing so far on that side of the ball?

Thanks for your time coach, I will let you get back to practice.

Ms. Dossey, before we lock in can I speak with all of our receivers.

Gentlemen, I will cut straight to the chase.  Our drops are killing us on offense.  They are stalling drives, keeping us from scoring, and leaving our defense out on the field too much.  I understand that everyone has a bad game every now and then, but fellas, we are dropping the ball at an alarming rate.  I know you guys are all professionals and I am sure you all are just as disappointed about them as I am.  I'm not here to call out any individual, but as a group we have to improve and improve now.  I trust that you guys will work through the struggles and right this ship because if we can figure this out then our offense can really soar.

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?

-That's what I call a good ol' ass cuttin' right there.  Our guys came out and balled all game.  We had a tough run defense, put the pressure on the QB, and our offense was humming right a long.  We had quite a few fumbles, which we will have to work on, but overall it was a great game.  Unfortunately O'Rourke got hurt again, but Dak did an amazing job of stepping in and leading this team to victory and the HIFL Week 5 Offensive Player of the Week.

2. Talk to us about your upcoming game this week.  What will be the toughest thing to prepare for this week?

-We have Atlanta and though their record isn't too pretty, we will not take them lightly.  They have the weapons on offense and a pretty good defense to win at any given time.  We have to go out and execute like we did this week on both offense and defense and limit the turnovers.  If we can do that I believe we will be just fine.
