Good thing we're on the same page then because I don't want or need you to kiss ass.  I want and need you to punish quarterbacks so go ahead and get to practice so you can do that.

Ms. Dossey can you get me in touch with George Britt please.

George, how you doing big fella?  I spoke with your agent earlier in the season and he said you guys were in no rush to sign an extension, which I understand.  But I wanted to speak with you directly to see how you like it here in Oakland and this team?

This is the only pro-team I have ever known.  GM Rebel took me number one overall in 2014 then he quit out of nowhere.. Then it was GM TJ.  He was loyal to me, so I was loyal back.  I played through a broken hand for 6 weeks, I've given my all, made it to the last 4 pro bowls, and I've never complained. Hell, I've never given up more than one sack in a game, and I've made every start since I was drafted.

I love this franchise, but at the same time I feel like I've done it all, given it all, and ever since I got to play in the Impact Bowl against DC back in Season 7, we've been going down hill. GM TJ left, came back, and left again.. Then we get told you're the new boss, and you've been dedicated, I respect that, but I just can't help but wonder if I need a fresh start.

I respect the hell out of your loyalty to this franchise. As you said, you've done it all.  I want you to know that I respect you and appreciate all that you have done for this team thus far.  I'd love to sign you to a new contract, but understand your feelings about how things have gone and the thought of possibly playing somewhere new.  I appreciate your candor and honesty and no matter what happens, you will always have my respect and utmost appreciation.

All that I ask is that you don't offer me during ERFA, let me test the market.  I'll give Oakland a fair shot to bring me back, but I want to hear from other teams as well.

I can do that George.  I will let you get back to this week's preparations.

Ms. Dossey, can you get me in touch with Richard Taylor from our minor league affiliate.

Richard, wanted to let you know that we are calling you up to the main roster for the rest of the season.

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?

We were able to get back into the win column with an all around solid game.  Our defense gave up more yards than I would have liked, but we also created turnovers and got to the quarterback a lot. I was pleased with the accuracy of our passing game and the fact that we limited the drops.  That was definitely key in having extended drives as did our solid running game.  Barbour and Brown, the Killer Bs, have been running the heck out of the football.

2. Give us an evaluation of the first half of the season for your team, who has stood out both good and bad?

We're currently 4-4 and 3rd in our division.  We've lost a couple of games that we should have won.  We've run the ball very well with the Killer Bs and John Young has done a great job of getting us good field position on kickoffs.  We still have to work on getting the passing game to reach it's potential and limiting drops as much as possible.  Our defense has played great at times and has struggled at times.  Our defensive line is stout and we got young guys like Roy Roberts and Alan Molina who have shown flashes of how great they can be.  Our secondary has struggled and we know have to keep working to get better.  All in all, we have our struggles, but I am excited about this team and our potential.

3. With where you sit in the standings, how do you feel about your chances of meeting your owners expectations and how do you grade your performance as GM, what about your job security?

-Based on where we are I believe I'm meeting most of the owner's expectations.  Our record is already better than last season, we're ahead of Long Beach in the standings, our fans are feeling more optimistic and I believe we are stabilizing the franchise.  We are falling short with the winning home record, but a strong second half push will help with that as well.  I believe I have done a solid job as GM thus far.  I've proven in the past that I know how to build a team through the draft and add pieces and I've done that this first season.  Wilkinson, Ortiz, Rainey, Roberts, Molina, Young, Brown, Collier...all rookies who are playing big roles for our team and they will only continue to get better.  I've made a couple of trades that I believe are a huge benefit for the team. Giving up a first round pick for Christopher Chandler was a no brainer for me.  Some may have questioned my trade of Schwartz, but Dalton has played great thus far, we gained a high round draft pick and two stud offensive line prospects.  I'm excited about this team and what we will accomplish.

4. Who is your league-wide Mid-season MVP?  Who has been the most surprising under performer?

-I believe the case can be made for Keenan Daley as MVP, the rookie has had a heck of a season so far and has the Knights in good position.  The Nighthawks get my vote for under-performer.

5. Which of your division rivals has surprised you the most? How and Why?

I'd say Tulsa.  I thought they would make strides this season, but they have struggled to score while giving up a ton of points.

6. With the Trade Deadline coming up this week, Do you see yourself as a buyer, a Seller, or do you plan to hold fast with what you have?

-My job is to make this team the best it possibly can be, so I won't be actively looking to do anything big, but if I get a call I will listen.

7. What is your opinion on the league's newly announced luxury tax rule, do you believe it is fair, and do you believe it will benefit the league?

-I think all in all it's a good rule that will cause teams to be more strategic.

8. Talk about your game this upcoming week, what do you need to focus on most?

-St. Louis is playing some damn good football.  We will need to pressure Barnhart and make him uncomfortable.  We need to limit the big play on defense and keep running the ball on offense the way we have been and build on the momentum in our passing attack.

YO! GM Justin!  My man.  I was worried when we lost GM Whats-his-face AGAIN, but you have been a revelation for us. You're making moves that make sense and deals that are paying off the right ways, I dig it!

The only goal we're struggling with right now is the winning recrod at home, but hey man... win games anywhere and I'm happy.  We just want the fans to get rewarded for coming to the stadium, so lets work on that my man!

IF we can shock the world and make the playoffs, I'll reward you with a nice little PR booster for the off-season!  LETS GO!

Their run defense has been middle of the pack at best, but their pass defense is in the top 4, so they are definitely a tough team to play against.

Got it.  I am going to talk to Coach Rhodes about offensive strategy so I will let you get back to practice coach.

Ms. Dossey, can you get Coach Rhodes for me.

Coach, I want to talk strategy with you for our game against St. Louis.  I know you love to pass the ball, but they are mediocre at best against the run and quite frankly, pretty damn good defending the pass.  Are you open to mixing in a little more run this week?

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?

Inconsistency...we came off a strong game last week and then this week we struggled moving the ball.  3 of 17 on third downs is not going to cut it.  The drops reared their ugly head once again.  We have some playmakers on both sides of the ball and they had their moments, we just have to continue to build on them.

2. With the All-Star Rosters being announced this week, what is your take on the composition, any snubs or surprises from your own team?  (for Kirk/Jon, talk about the opposing roster, for everyone else, comments and talk about who you felt deserved to go on your squad etc)

The rosters are filled with bias, but I'm happy for TWII and George Britt.  But we have some other guys that could have easily made it.  I'd say about 3 or 4 of our guys could have legitimately made the team and should have.  Kirk left off Hagan....that shows you the bias that he and GM Jon had in picking these teams.  Ridiculous if you ask me.  They made a mockery of the game and the process.

3. What news stories stood out to you this week?

GM Pancho getting fired is a big deal, but I believe it proves that owners are wanting results and wanting them now.  Especially when a GM makes some of the moves that GM Pancho has and they haven't translated to success.

4. Talk about your game this upcoming week, what do you need to focus on most?

We have to catch the ball.  If we can catch the ball our drives will keep going and we can put more points on the board.  The Barons have a high powered offense so we are going to have to get to the backup quarterback and force him to try and make plays.
