Indeed Coach, the signs were there though that we were improving, everyone kept on task and we're looking good! I feel like we are now in a position where the majority of teams in the league are going to have to adapt to beat us, which is a fantastic position to be. We clinch that division title and that position becomes even stronger.

Now with all this in mind, I have been looking at contract extensions, and I of course want to keep this coaching team in tact. I'll have to speak to everyone individually, but first I had to see what you felt at the moment? I'd prefer to get this resolved prior to any post-season action so we can focus on the task at hand.

In terms of a contract offer, you were part of the re-build here in Miami before I joined, and I feel you have been integral since I have been involved. I'd be looking to keep you here as long as I could, I'd be willing to go for a four year contract, with a $10mil salary on the table.

I consider myself better than some of the other "great" defensive coaches in the east like Blitzer, Crowder, and definitely Farmer.. All of them are making 10.5-12MM per season, so I would expect the same.

I'll sign for $12MM now, with the promise that when we win the impact bowl later this year, I won't be expecting to tear up the deal to re-do it to make up for the Championship on the resume.

I can agree to that Coach, I feel you have proven yourself worthy of such a raise. I'll have the paperwork arranged shortly for a new four year extension with the pay rise coming in place this season. In regards to the game against Charlotte, tactically, do you feel we are best maintaining our man on man coverage to nullify Sullivan?

Excellent, Happy to sign on and stay here in Miami.

...as for Sullivan and the Crowns, I do think our man coverage is the way to go, I think our defense should be able to stifle Spurgeon, or at least hold him in check to force them to throw more than they'd like.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks Coach. Can you ask Coach Patricia to come see me please.

Coach, we want to keep our coaching staff here in Miami to continue the progression we have made together. We have negotiated a new contract for Coach Rhodes, and we'd love to do the same with yourself. We'd be looking to offer an over 50% pay increase for a three year contract at $5MM.

We can discuss it in the off-season, I'd rather focus on winning the championship right now.

Understandable Coach, we'll talk then.

Selina, can you ask Coach McNeil to come see me please.

--

Coach, we have been looking to handle our staff re-negotiations early, are you open to these talks now or would you prefer to wait until the off season?
