1.   Talk us through this week's game. What did you like, what do you want to see improved?
We came out and had a great first quarter and then they kicked the shit out of us for the next 3 and then lost in overtime. We’ve had this press conference so many times before and I’m really getting tired of it. I don’t know whether we banned somebody from bringing their goat into the stadium but it’s getting ridiculous.

2. Through two games this season, who's surprising you for the better, and for the worst?
I think Danny Edelman has continued to improve and has made plays for us. For the worst, I think Keenan Daley did a lot better against our defense than I’d have expected. We’ve made life miserable for opposing quarterbacks for a long time, rookies even more so and he had a good game out there.

3. Which one-part of your team do you believe is only going to get better going forward?
Ball security …

4. Talk about your news story this week.
I’m going to respect David’s wishes. We support our players.

5. Talk about at least two other news stories this week.
I think taking note of Lavar Jackson’s comments. SJAX has looked like a stud the last two weeks so as someone on the other side I’m all for him not getting the ball more than he has been already. And then Oakland getting off to our good start means a lot in our division given we’re now a game behind.

6. Talk to us about your match up this week, how do you rebound from defeat?
I think it’ll probably be a bit more civil than some of our previous outings on the sidelines, that’s for sure. It’s a good team and both sides are going to know each other given the players familiarity and then the schemes being close as well.

I don't know if it's Ju-Ju, the curse of Leo Apollo's Limousine, or something but this is probably it. I don't normally put much behind superstition but like I said. This is getting ridiculous. On to the game, Shelley's turnovers (even the recovered fumbles) hurt us and we've already addressed that we're working on that. I was surprised how little we were able to get going in the passing game though. Especially given the turnover in their secondary? Was it a function of situation or just poor execution.

7 drops and 4 pass break ups by the defense, leaves 8 passes that were just not completed in general. The drops killed us this week.

Pitts had 3
Zeller had 1
Ponder had 1
Saunders had 1
and Mackey had 1

New receivers ... same problems. Surprised too because a lot of those guys I targeted because of sure hands. It sounds amateur hour but between that and the fumbles maybe we need to have everyone walking around the facility with a ball in their hands ... Pop Warner style.

Not my style, but it might work..  One drop does not a pattern make, but John Pitts having a gaggle of drops hurt us, sometimes that comes from trying to do too much, sometimes not, but I've had to coach my fair-share of droppers like Crawford and Myers in DC.

I leave the decision in your hands. You've got more rings than I do as GM Pancho so eloquently loves to point out. Heading into Tulsa I don't think we change much. You know that team's offense better than anyone so I don't think I'd have much to offer.

Dante doesn't have the tools on that team to run his scheme yet, so we'll focus on stopping Allen as best we can, force their rookie QB to make contested throws, and we'll try to hang on to the damn football.   That should equal a strong performance.

Demi, David Ames please.

David, I wanted to have a quick chat about David Nutt. I'd historically speak with him but in this case I want to respect his ask for privacy. I think part of maturing is handling your business and dealing with the ramifications of those decisions. I wanted to let you know as his agent that we are here to support him if he needs it and that I am not ignoring this situation and not worried about him. Should David need, we've got added security beyond what the league offers, but other than that at this time if his wish is to handle things I don't see us getting involved. That is subject to change should this start to impact our football team.

Yeah - I've got all the confidence you'll rebound this week. You've demonstrated a ton of resiliency over the past three years here and I think that's a big credit to you as a person and your ability. Be vibrant around the team this week - keep your confidence up and they'll follow you to hell and back no matter what happens.

Well Ken, not the best game. One thing I've noticed the last two games is the number of tackles Mullins is making. Is that him stepping up in the run game or are the other teams having a field day throwing at him? I know we don't play a ton of zone so that's part of my basis.

This week 5 tackles on players he wasn't defending, the other 7 game from tackling his man after a catch.

I'm not expecting Alfred Glass but 7 catches allowed to me is a bit concerning. Is this potentially just a bad fit where he's more a guy in cover 2 and we play a ton of man?

He did play a lot of zone in Oakland originally if I recall, but it might just be a rough couple of weeks, I'm trying something different this week to see if he adjusts, working on his positional training to try and work something out.

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?
We turned the ball over again. That really could’ve been a big difference but our defense dominated when Kitchen got hurt and our offense moved the ball really, really well. We’d have easily torched 500 yards if we protected the rock and you have to think our playmakers on offense are excited about that.

2. How do you feel about the emergence of the Alliance of American Football and the XFL?
I’m not really concerned. Some GM’s will try and make shitty trades with them, others will try and make partnerships on development camps, and others will just outright try and poach players and piss them off. That’s how it worked with the APL. Me … I’m focused on Vegas.

3. Talk about something going on around the league this season that has interested you in one way or another.
How good Seattle has looked pounding the rock. Andy Graham is a helluva coach and you knew once someone that came in and gave him a roster that could compete talent wise they’d be good. I think teams looking at that and thinking about replacing their head coach next year would be wise to look at Ken Graham who’s done the same thing for our defense each and every year.

4. Talk to us about your upcoming game this week.  What will be the key to victory?
It’ll be weird not seeing Big Pussy in Oakland. I think it’s going to be my stock answer this year but if we protect the ball we’ll be set. We’ve got an incredible defense and a ton of playmakers. I’m interested to see TWII in action as well next week.

That was a win that didn't feel like a win.  Oakland is looking good this year on both sides of the ball, they have a drop issue, like this team is all too familiar with, but outside of that they don't have a glaring weakness on either side outside of inexperience.. The biggest difference is our defense has been stifling, #2 in the league at 16.7 ppg, and we're only giving up 320 total yards per game, so if we can keep them guessing on defense and Shelley can protect the damn ball, we should be in a strong position.

Yeah. I know drops factored into it again but I think at this point we are what we are. I don't think there's much we can do beyond what you're doing and expecting Shelley to progress as he gets more game experience.

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?
Any time you pitch a shutout you’re happy. Our defense had a great game as they’ve had all season. We could’ve executed better on 3rd down but we’re really happy with the W.

2. Which of your division rivals has surprised you the most so far this season?
I’m not surprised in this division. It gets shit on a lot by people but we’ve always had really strong defenses and there’s a bunch of aggressive GM’s who make moves to better their team and not rest on laurels. You look at what Keenan Daley has done in San Antonio as proof of that with Digger moving way up the board to get him.

3. With where you sit in the standings, do you feel it is a true reflection of your team? Where do you feel you should stand, and who on your team is most responsible for your current standing?
I think so. We’re a point away from being 4-0 and no one is perfect but we’ve played some good football to this point. We’ve got the league leading defense to this point and that really shows up but the hosses up front have done a really good job as well and kept our offense moving so I do want to give some credit to them.

4. What has been the biggest challenge for your team so far this season, and who would you say was your teams' most improved?
We’ve continued to adapt to Coach Saint’s schemes and integrating the new pieces on offense. Most improved I’d say is Robert Tyler. He’s had some real big performances and is a big part of our d-line.

5. Talk to us about your upcoming game this week.  What will be the toughest thing to prepare for this week?
We’re going to get a Tombstone team that’s looking for their first win. That’s always motivation right there.

Despite our record, I want to see improvements from our first half.  Offensively I pride myself on a high scoring system, and 19th in the league in scoring isn't satisfactory to me.  I plan on working hard to improve those numbers.

You're right, the Minor League Coaches/Scouts will get you the info about our prospects.   I see us beating the pants off of Tombstone, so I'm looking forward to the game.

Jamaal, how are Parker and Paige looking. Paige might be someone we need at some point this year.

Parker has shown great leadership qualities to go with his plus-arm strength.  His accuracy is developing but is ahead of his decision making, but currently I'd compare him to Aaron Kitchen in Tulsa, but if you want a more seasoned comparison the best I could do is a stronger armed but significantly less mobile Tashaun Pate. I think he's a better back up than Almanza and Bain, for sure.

Now, Ronnie on the other hand, he is not on the level of Mullins, Barkley, or Mojica which might be the best trio in the league; but the kid could start on a handful of teams in the league right now.  He plays the game hard and shows off a great competitiveness, he lacks great strength to jam guys at the line and he's still learning when to jump a route and when to play it safe, but his natural abilities make him a solid nickle option with an upside to become a 1 or 2.  He needs to refine his tackling skills but all in all I would compare him to a more athletically gifted Paul Camacho.

1. Talk us through this weeks game. What went wrong?  What went right?
Any time you pitch a shut out you tip your hat to the defense. They've been elite all year and it's great to see that unit firing on all cylinders. We had a bit of a rough go in the passing game with our efficiency but we did manage to move the ball through the air a bit early and then a big running game iced it on the ground. More importantly, we didn't turn it over. We consistently do that we're in good shape.

2. Talk to us about your upcoming game this week.  What will be the toughest thing to prepare for this week?
I think GM Franchise did a really good job summarizing Alabama in his press conference. We've got an elite defense and so a big game from our front seven gives us a chance. I think Stephen Shelley could really have a coming out party too.

I love that we haven't allowed a point in 9 straight quarters, but clearly we'll have our hands full this weekend against Alabama.  If we can shut them down like we have Oakland and Tombstone, then we're ahead of schedule.

Agreed - I don't think we change anything defensively but I was thinking we maybe put our balls out there a bit and up the pass ratio even more this week. I don't think they have anyone who can cover Pitts and he could have a monster game. Only concern I have is the increase in turnover potential. Thoughts?

You'll never hear me object to increasing the pass numbers.  Lets air it out and see if they can find a solution.

Sounds good - I think if it goes well it'd be huge for Steph too. I'll leave the percentage increase up to you but I'm excited. I really don't think there's much else this week Coach so unless you have something for me I'll let you get to it.

Stephen Shelley please Demi.

Steph, just wanted to give you a shout and let you know we're going to air it out this week. I know the coaching staff and I have a ton of confidence in your ability to move the ball through the air and this week gives a shot to show everyone that as well.

Anything you need from me?
