The following is a public service announcement.

Dear Peoples of HIFFLE!

Shut up. Like seriously, once you have your team shut up. You're distracting Talon from actually getting the game started and he'll give you all this shit anyways.

Sincerely,
The offices of Metro and Marvin

I'm not sure you can have a banner on your profile for a championship you didn't actually win.

In my case the image was given to me with those banners on it by the mod, who created the image.  While hesitant initially to use it for that reason I wanted to display my team in a manner similar to everyone else plus the mod was kind enough to make it for me without me so much as even hinting at asking for it (Thank you for that Talon, btw :) ).  So I intend to use it, at least until there's another championship banner added to it when I lead the team to winning one myself and he changes it.  Aside from that you're more than welcome to take the matter up with the mod privately as ultimately it's his image and his decision to make in regards to altering the image.  Should he choose to remove the banners I would respect that decision and take no offense.

In your position, I might have thanked Talon for the banners but politely suggested that they might be better placed on the first page of the team thread... along with the rest of the club History. I think I would be embarrassed to have them before I had earned them. Perhaps that's just me.

Perhaps it's team credentials and not individual.

This is how I was interpreting it. I kinda think of it like the wall of the GM office or the team's Hall Of Champions.

We're taking over in S5, not S1. The teams have history that we're becoming a part of and that we have to accept and work with. I personally like the fact Talon has acknowledged that in the Alabama banner by giving them the championships (I also think Kirk's sig-banner should have one for the S2 IB victory as the NJ boss).

If you're going to argue about someone displaying their team's history, then you should also be complaining about being given the vast majority of your team and insisting on a draft that'll take the next year to complete.. Because picking the team is something you didn't do either.

The simplest solution to me is to accept the current banners as belonging to the team (the office wall/HOC above), and to have a separate collection of banners/bars that can be added to sigs as & when people win seasons as a GM (or the more basic form of just a list of achievements).

I thought the salary cap was 100 million... The two sheets up make it look like 125.

It was changed to 125 because the sim currently has most rosters over 100MM without a full roster.

So I upped the cap, and rounded down on salaries.

Also a general note.

The "Morale" section is simply the players jersey number, on my mod sheet the players morale will be displayed their in color.

Just a heads up for you guys as not to cause confusion.

In your position, I might have thanked Talon for the banners but politely suggested that they might be better placed on the first page of the team thread... along with the rest of the club History. I think I would be embarrassed to have them before I had earned them. Perhaps that's just me.

They are on the first page of the team thread.  They're also in the image.  As TJ said it's not like I'm going around parading that I'm a three time champion.  In fact I've already pointed out in the shoutbox that I've yet to win anything at all.  I didn't earn them, but the team did.  They're a reflection of the team's previous history.  I'm simply reflecting that in my sig.  So is pretty much every other GM.  The only difference is that mine has banners and most of the rest of yours do not.  I'm not embarrassed by it.  The previous success of the team is one of the things that drew me to Alabama in the first place.  It's my intention to build on that success and add championship banners of my own to it just as the rest of you no doubt want to do with your teams.  When others come along and play not knowing the original beginnings of the game I'll be more than happy to inform them that we started as GMs after Season 4 and I'm technically only responsible for the possible championships earned from Season 5 onward.  In the meantime, as I've said, I'm keeping the image in my sig until such time that it would be updated to reflect future championships and really anything further should be discussed privately with the mod as he is both the creator of the image in the first place and it's his game.

On an entirely different note I thought those were jersey numbers all along and didn't even notice it said morale at the top lol

If anyone notices duplicated jersey numbers on the sheets, please let me know.

The sim lets folks were the same numbers even if they are on the same side of the ball, which is just dumb.  I've been manually changing the numbers as I go, but I might miss some.

Alright, the sim wants to do the draft before free agency, so for this first season, all free agency will come AFTER the draft.

You will get free scouting for BOTH free agents and rookies, so stand by for that information in your team threads.

I will get the defensive free agents done ASAP, busy and have Halloween stuff going on tonight.

Be advised:  Film study and Scouting Trips are the only events that get you feedback from your coaches, combine and personal workouts are purely grade or skill reveals.

Considering I haven't even been able to sign all of my coaches yet, I'm feeling rather rushed with this sudden combine deadline. I'm going to be pressed to even get a DC signed with the way I've been constantly missing Talon. That's likely to get worse when you change your clocks.

I am on the road all day with family, but to clear up a question for everyone, the combine is an event, you pay to attend, you can not dou left up. You pay the 2 and you watch 5 players. You must also decide on your interviews at the same time. Pvt. Workouts can be submitted after the combine or at the same time If you want. Film study can be unlimited number of people to watch.

So basically at the very bare minimum right now before the combine we just need to send you by PM the names of the 5 players we want to watch and pay the 2 million (which I'm guessing needs to be future dealed as well)?

Also I'm guessing by "you can not dou left up" that you really meant to say we can't double up the combine and watch 10 players at 4 million.

Aye. Correct but you also need to list which combine kids you want to have your coaches interview (500k ea.) If any. The rest can be done after the combine.

To do an interview...

Does it have to be one of the 5 we scouted at the combine?
