SEASON 13 WEEK 7

LONG BEACH UTILITY WEAPON DJOKOVIC PETROVIC SHINES AFTER FLU RAVAGES MERMEN'S DEPTH, FORCING PUNTER TO KICK, RETURN, AND PLAY MORE ON OFFENSE AND DEFENSE!

PEARL HARBOR --- After a travel nightmare which saw several Long Beach players come down with a nasty case of the flu, the Mermen turned to their Punter, Djokovic Petrovic to fill many gaps in the depth chart this week as they took on the Pearl Harbor Predators.

Acting as the starting kicker, 2nd kick returner, fullback, sub wide receiver, and also rotating in at linebacker and safety in different defensive packages, Petrovic logged three catches for 33 yards, kicked 5 successful extra points, dropped one of his 4 punts inside the Pearl Harbor 20, and also managed to log an open field tackle; but his greatest performance came in the final minutes of the game.

Pearl Harbor dominated the second half scoring 24 unanswered points to tie the game at 28 with 3:33 to play, that is when Eugene Huey's kick to the unlikely return man Petrovic changed the game.

Racing out of the end zone from 2 yards deep, Petrovic found blockers and made tacklers miss in route to the most unlikely 102 yard kick return touchdown in league history.  Fans of the Predators lamented the shocking return, some excited to see such an amazing play, but the majority of them being crushed that after a dominant comeback the game had once again come down a stunning finish.

Petrovic, a fan favorite in his home country of Kosovo, has quickly become a fan favorite in the Long Beach area.  He is highly likely to become an All-Star selection due to his versatility thanks to his unprecedented stat line.

  • 28 punts, 43.5 yards per punt, 8 inside the 20 (63 yard longest)
  • 6/6 on Extra Points
  • 5 Kick Returns, 188 yards, 1 TD
  • 17 Catches, 207 yards, 1 TD, 2 drops
  • 4 Pancakes
  • 5 Tackles

"Agent 19" has said that he hopes to become more and more involved in both the offensive and defensive side of the football games, reminding viewers that in Kosovo he was an offensive player of the year twice and holds the record for interceptions in  a single game in the Kosovo Football League with 3.  GM Gooch has been both praised and criticized for his usage of Petrovic coming into this week, but after winning the game with a 102 yard touchdown those critics are sure to be a little harder to find, if only for this week.

SEASON 13 WEEK 10

BREAKING NEWS: HIGH IMPACT FOOTBALL LEAGUE MOURNS THE SUDDEN PASSING OF CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING HEAD COACH, GM, AND TEAM OWNER JOHN McFADDEN!

ST. LOUIS --- The HIFL universe lost an iconic name this weekend.   84 year old John McFadden, the first head coach of the Alabama Nighthawks and a two-time Impact Bowl winning coach, passed away unexpectedly.  While his family has declined to release details, the rest of the league has quickly taken to public forums to send condolences and to share their memories of one of the most influential names in Football.

McFadden coached teams across various pro leagues prior to the formation of the HIFL in 2010 having taken Los Angeles to the Championship in the 70's and 80's before retiring and partnering with Electronic Arts to create the McFadden video game franchise.

Coming out of retirement to join the HIFL due to his connection to Alabama Nighthawks founder Bear Woods, McFadden brought immediate credibility to the league and his two Impact Bowls and tutelage lead to future head coaches like Bo Action, Bill Crowder, and many many more.   McFadden retired once again after Season 7 after serving as an assistant head coach in Orlando under GM Eddie Phoenix and Head Coach Harry Bryce.

During his time with Orlando many will remember the scare McFadden had when it appeared he was suffering from some sort of mental illness during the end of his time with the Stampede, but after an undisclosed medical procedure McFadden returned to his normal self prior to his founding the expansion St. Louis Stallions franchise.   While McFadden never found the success he had hoped for in St. Louis, his legacy will always be that of the first head Coach to win an Impact Bowl and while he has not yet been inducted into the HIFL Hall of Fame, many feel it is only a matter of time before that happens, two years ago McFadden collected 50% of the votes and last season he nearly made the cut, falling 3% short of the required 75% to gain induction.

With McFadden's passing the team will be sold sometime before the start of Season 13, meaning uncertain times are ahead for a franchise that is already operating without a general manager and without a single win.

BREAKING NEWS: LEAGUE OFFICE REJECTS STRANGE ST. PAUL LYNX CONTRACT EXTENSION

A contract for a player simply known as "Daniel" per the language on the contract submitted to the league office has lead to a backlash from Agent Drew Leventhal.   The deal, which was rumored to be a record setting 4 year contract for cornerback Daniel Maxley, has since been completely called off by the Leventhal camp who has insisted that the cornerback will not sign a deal with any team until unrestricted free agency this coming off-season.

S13 WEEK 11

HOME ICE: ARCTIC FOXES SEAL BIG WIN WITH LATE ACROBATIC DEFENSIVE PLAYS IN BLIZZARD-LIKE CONDITIONS!

WINNIPEG --- On the frozen tundra of the Winnipeg Arctic Foxes home field, the defending Impact Bowl Champions and their leader Christian Sullivan suffered one of their worst performances in recent memory.  Dealing with the frigid temperatures, wind, and at times blinding snow, the warm-weather Killer Whales turned the ball over three times and had a punt blocked leading to a big home win for Patrick Owen and the Winnipeg Arctic Foxes.

While Owen and the Foxes were out gained offensively by 188 yards, the turnovers proved to be the difference, especially the final one.

After Miami's defense forced a three and out with three minutes Sullivan and the Whales took over at their own 27.  Driving down the field on the back of laser precise passes to Smitty Smoke, Larry Herzog, and a big 23 yarder to Daniel Randolph, Miami appeared poised to complete a great comeback drive but after a holding call against Gary Fenton drove the Killer Whales back to the Winnipeg 45 followed by a frustrating false start against Daniel Randolph Miami appeared flustered, burning their last time out as Christian Sullivan gave a rousing rally-speech in the huddle.

On the very next play, Sullivan connected with Randolph on an amazing sideline pass that gained 40 yards and stopped the clock with 19 seconds remaining.

With a fresh set of downs and 10 yards separating Miami from a win, The Arctic Fox secondary came up big.  Without the luxury of running the ball due to their lack of time outs, it was Sullivan vs. the Winnipeg D.

On first down, Sullivan attempted to scramble due to great coverage, but with the defense sealing him off from the sideline and no room to run, the veteran fired the ball out of bonds to stop the clock.

On second down Sullivan fired a quick pass for Matthew Grover as he and Smitty Smoke ran a quick combination route to attempt confusion, but Daniel Bannister would save the day, launching himself backwards at just the right time, managing to break up the pass despite his misread of the play!

With two downs to go, but only 9 seconds to work, the Whales went back to the well, trying the same route combination but this time pump faking for Grover and instead going over the middle to Daniel Randolph!  The pass was on target, but a deflection from Clancy sent the ball over the hands of Randolph, who also got a piece of it, and as both players dove into the snowy turf below it was Clancy who emerged with the football, sealing the victory for the home team!

After the game, Clancy spoke with the media saying: "We don't get the same respect as other good teams in the league.  Let this be a wake up call to everyone that we're no joke. We're not a flash in the pan, and that we're comin' for the ship."

While Winnipeg's season has been one riddled with offensive line injuries, the team has played well and finds themselves with a share of first place in the North Pacific North Division at 7-3 along side Seattle.

Meanwhile Miami falls to 6-4 and finds their division title hopes slipping away as the 9-1 Nighthawks of Alabama continue to surge.  Miami currently sits tied with Milwaukee, New Jersey, and Music City for the second and final wildcard spot with Orlando holding the other wildcard at 7-3.

SEASON 13 WEEK 12

A BRIDGE TOO FAR?   GM REBEL'S PRESS CONFERENCE GAFF COULD HAVE SIGNIFICANT RAMIFICATIONS AS "THE GENERAL" MERV PATTON NO SHOWS PRACTICE!

ORLANDO -- This week started as normal for most teams around the HIFL, each teams' general manager meets with the media, typically not much is said at these press conferences typically just cliches and double talk, but a strange comment from GM Johnny Rebel of the Orlando Stampede made huge waves this week and will go down as one of the biggest gaffs in pres conference history.

"Patton is overrated in this league both as a player and as a leader."

Patton, typically a calm and collected customer, was said to have not appreciated the comment from GM Rebel and has not been seen at the Stampedes training facility for the first day of week 12 practice.

Losing Patton would be devastating for Orlando who would be forced to turn to utility-player Alesana Tuilagi as the teams starting quarterback if GM Rebel cannot repair his relationship with his now ostracized quarterback.

BREAKING NEWS: IMPACT BOWL 13 LOCATION ANNOUNCED!

BATON ROUGE -- The famed Tigers Stadium, also known as "Death Valley" of the Louisiana State University Tigers was announced this afternoon as the host of Impact Bowl 13!   League Commissioner Talon Wilkinson spoke during the post-announcement press conference saying that he and the league office were hopeful that the Impact Bowl could break the stadium's attendance record of 102,321 which has been set and tied eleven times in stadium history.

"LSU has produced some amazing football talents over the years, especially here in the HIFL, that combined with the South East's rich football history, the reputation of this venue, and the the support of the HIFL fans here in Louisiana made Baton Rouge a candidate for our championship game several times over the last five years.  We're excited to be apart of the Louisiana culture and to bring the HIFL Honors weekend to New Orleans and the Impact Bowl here to Baton Rouge, and if all goes as planned we could see a new attendance record when its all said and done."

Along side Commissioner Wilkinson sat LSU alum and recently retired quarterback Carl Bloom who spoke on the significance of bringing the impact bowl to Louisiana for the first time.

The league revealed the Impact Bowl logos and graphics along with several key dates for the lead up to the Impact Bowl including the "HIFL Honors" Awards Banquet, Live All-Star Game announcement show, and many other events.

MIND CONTROL?  GM JUSTIN, OAKLAND SILVERBACKS BEING ACCUSED OF USING MIND CONTROL TACTICS ON COACHING STAFF AFTER RASH OF STRANGE "FACE TO FACE" MEETINGS LEADING TO HOSPITALIZATION OF HC AND OC!

OAKLAND --- Just days before their week 12 showdown with the struggling Sydney Stringrays, the Oakland Silverbacks find themselves down two coaches.   Head Coach Darren Hall and Offensive Coordinator DeAngelo Neuman have both been hospitalized this week over what their representation has called "strange mind control practices" from GM Justin P.

"One minute we're talking and the next he's got me saying exactly what he wants me to, back at myself, like I'm talking into a mirror man, it's crazy" said OC DeAngelo Neuman.   "I stood up to run away, because honestly I thought I was going crazy, and I ran right into a closed door, fell back and cracked my head on a chair so, so yeah.. a concussion, a broken nose, and a bruised ego all got me laid up.. I thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me but when it happened to Coach Hall too, man then I knew something was fishy."

Coach Hall, who has left the hospital after being evaluated and tested for "Havana Syndrome" an illness found in US Embassy workers in Cuba who accused the Cuba government of using microwave weapons to cause illness and brain damage.

Hall, who has worked as the head coach in Oakland for the past several years says that his week was normal until just before the team locked in, when suddenly things changed and GM Justin appeared before him, as himself [Hall], giving him commands for the week.

"It is all a blur, but the fact that it happened to DeAngelo this week as well makes me think something is going on in GM Justin's office.  He's always been straight with me, maybe its the Mermen playing games, or maybe the Alien Rapture is finally coming, but yeah, I'm not going back in that office... I'm not letting nobody turn my brain into a bowl of spaghetti-o's."

With Both Coaches sidelined and potentially exiting the organization, Defensive Coordinator Matthew Alvarado  will step into the role of interim head coach with assistant coaches and former Silverbacks players John Crowell and Eric Saylor will work as offensive and defensive coordinators in the interim.

S13 WEEK 12

GENERAL MANAGERS FEELING THE PRESSURE AS LATE-SEASON MISTAKES LEAD TO WARMER SEATS!

While the sting of the gaff made this week by GM Rebel was made less painful by a first-class blowout of the Alabama Nighthawks in front of a wildly satisfied home crowd this week, the long term ramifications could still be damning.

Meanwhile in Oakland, team owner Koba Caesar has reached a settlement with head coach Darren Hall and Offensive Coordinator DeAngelo Neuman after the two coaches were hospitalized due to significant mental trauma that has yet to be explained.    As a result of the settlement both coaches will part ways with the team while being paid their full salary for the remainder of this season, with Hall agreeing not to pursue any financial compensation beyond this season.

While long-term this leaves Oakland with more financial flexibility it does put GM Justin in a difficult position to hire a new head coach and offensive coordinator with only $6.75MM in the bonus pool to do so.

Clearly both GM's hurt their job security last week, but insiders believe both can recover in one way or another.

BREAKING NEWS: FIGHT CALLED OFF BETWEEN SYDNEY TIGHT END MICHAEL KILPATRICK AND KANGAROO

SYDNEY --- Moments after signing a new contract with the Sydney Stingrays that will see him remain down-under for the next two season, TE Michael Kilpatrick announced that he would no longer be boxing against the notorious fighting Kangaroo known as "Kanga the Destroyer"    In a statement released by Kilpatrick on his twitch stream, Kilpatrick simply said "I can't fight during the season, its in my new contract.  Big Bad Kanga can still catch this right/left combo in the off-season, unless he is busy stuffing babies in his pouch."

The entire situation has raised eyes around the world as man vs. beast events have been frowned upon more and more over the past several decades.  Meanwhile PETA has petitioned GM Gates to terminate Kilpatrick immediately if he ever lays a hand on a Kangaroo in any sort of fight.

S13 - WEEK 14

SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE AS FORD SPUTTERS LATE FOR STARS!

SAN ANTONIO --- After seemingly vanquishing his late game kicking woes, rookie Stars kicker Eddie Ford found himself in a very familiar position this week.  With the score tied, Tucson called on the 20 year old to attempt to put Tucson in the lead from 53 yards out with just over 30 seconds to play in front of a raucous San Antonio fan base.

With the stadium shaking from the crowd, Ford pushed the kick wide right leaving the game tied and giving Keenan Daley a chance to pus the ball down field.  After a quick 18 yard scramble to avoid a sack and then a perfect throw to Tim Collier for 12 yards, the Knights brought rushed Bami Ortiz onto the field for his own 53 yard game winning attempt, and Ortiz's kick was true sending San Antonio into the win column on a game that was clearly closer than they would have liked it to be.

After the game Ford said "I missed one earlier in the game left and I just over compensated.  It's on me, again, it's just hard to miss a kick I know I could have made.  I prided myself on being labeled a clutch kicker in college, but this has been a rough start to my pro career."

Despite the amount of high profile misses Ford has suffered this season, his overall conversion rate still sits a 80.6% and this weekends missed 53 yard attempt was his first miss from 50+ this season.  in 31 overall attempts this year Ford has converted 25 and is 30/31 on extra points. Tying him for 12th in FG percentage while converting 30/31 XPs.

TEMPERS FLARE AS COACH BRIGHAM IS EJECTED AND SUSPENDED ONE WEEK, AFTER CONFRONTING REF OVER NO-CALL ON "DIRTY" HIT THAT INJURED ARTHUR PRINGLE!

LONG BEACH --- In a game full of special teams plays that made a major difference, one that doesnt appear in the box score also resulted in Long Beach losing their head coach.

Just before halftime, after Trevor Lawrence connected with Cyrus McKenzie for a 25 yard touchdown pass, Arthur Pringle kicked off to Aaron Cahill of the Cobras.   Cahill fielded the kick at the 2 yard line and began his return, as the special teams unit moved to pursue the return man, the kicker [Pringle] was blown up with a wicked block from RB/FB Tank Mixon which decleated the 26 year old kicker and left him on the ground clutching his plant leg.

The referees did not flag the hit, but head coach Steve Brigham clearly felt the no-call was unacceptable as he rushed onto the field to demand an explanation from side judge Neil-Lee Blynde.  The conversation turned heated when Brigham  was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct which then led to an ejection after Brigham picked up the flag and threw it back at the official.

In a fit comparable to an old-school baseball manager, Brigham continued his rant and tirade as his coaching staff worked to get him off of the field.    The league office quickly announced a suspension after the game, which Brigham has agreed not to appeal.

As for Pringle, the kicker went into the locker room early ahead of halftime and attempted to play through the pain but after one successful XP and kick off Pringle did not return, leaving rookie sensation Djokovic Petrovic to handle kicking duties.

Pringle has since been diagnosed with a partially torn Achilles tendon and will be out for the remainder of the season.

FAN FAVORITE DOVER TURNS INTO SCAPEGOAT AFTER OVERTIME HOLDING PENALTY NULLIFIES GAME WINNING TOUCHDOWN!

CLEVELAND -- In a continuation of the 5-quarter draw between the Monsters of Michigan and the Cleveland Mustangs, fans were not surprised to see these two evenly matched bitter rivals continue their season-trend and take their second contest to overtime.  What was a shock was following a huge defensive play from Linebacker Dennis Hatley where the young backer leveled a bone rattling hit on receiver Omarion Green-Beckham to force a fumble at mid-field, Quarterback Shaun Day rolled from the pocket to his right, avoided pressure from a pair of Mustangs defenders, and then took off down the right sideline, tip toeing his way down the boundary and diving into the end zone, avoiding a diving Earl Kopp in the process.  The game appeared to be over as the Monsters players swarmed the field to celebrate the victory but a yellow flag on the field 20 yards back was quick to end the celebration.

The call of holding against receiver Rory Dover set the drive back and stifled all momentum as a false start call on rookie TE George Sprouse on the following play set the team back even further and eventually lead to a punt.   A handful of plays later Justin Fields ended the game for the Mustangs leaving the Monsters and their fans fuming.

After the game frustrated Monsters fans lashed out at Dover and the team via social media, adding additional insult to injury.

S13 - WEEK 14

DARK VS LIGHT :  SUSPENSIONS ISSUED FOR ROY LEMKE AND SCOTT BERG AFTER POST-GAME BRAWL!

WINNIPEG --- A strange fight broke out this weekend after the handshakes and hugs began following the Lumberjacks 11 point win against division rival Winnipeg.  Controversial wide receiver Roy Lemke and equally controversial running back Scott Berg came to blows in a strange turn of events that sideline reporter Erin Andrews says started when Berg encouraged Lemke to "repent and save his soul."

Lemke turned and said something in what appeared to be a foreign language which triggered Berg into action.  Berg is said to have pulled a crucifix from his pads and began pounding Lemke with the religious symbol screaming "The Power of Christ Compels you!"

The scene, straight out of "The Exorcist" took an even stranger turn when nobody on either team rushed to help break up the fight.   Noises that some continue to dispute as "piped in" began to fill the arena as the lights suddenly blacked out and Berg flew backwards into a case of footballs that were being packed up by grounds crew personnel.

Lemke was gone in a flash and later showed no signs of damage when seen leaving the arena many hours later.

Neither player was made available for comment, but the league office has suspended both players for 2 weeks following the incident.  GM Jon and GM Cory are expected to address the situation in their upcoming press conferences this Monday.

In other news, The Seattle Lumberjacks could also be without Starting Kicker James Edwards after the team announced that Edwards was request bereavement leave after his three cats were found dead outside his Seattle residence.  Rumors indicate the pets were slaughtered and nailed to makeshift figures similar to those seen in the 1999 film "The Blair Witch Project"

LAS VEGAS --- The XFL's first championship game as a minor league for the HIFL took place this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada as the Akron Acorns and the Death Valley Gila Monsters went head to head to crown a new league champion.

After taking a 16-10 lead into halftime, the Gila Monsters found themselves trading leads with The Acorns four times in the second half before Richard "Richie" Rinaldi (no relation to the Pearl Harbor GM) capitalized on an Anthony Chau 37 catch and run from QB Cody Northstar with under a minute remaining on the clock.  However the Gila Monsters were not finished, and with only 19 seconds left on the clock Death Valley QB Ross Baker dropped back for a hail mary pass.  Baker connected with stud wide receiver Grady Ashby who used his 6'4 frame to elevate in a pile of defenders and catch the football 50+ yards down field. Despite the amazing catch, Ashby was still 6 yards from the end zone and that is when legends were born.   As Ashby turned and churned towards the goal line to win the game in spectacular form, Akron Cornerback Brant Newell made an amazing diving tackle that forced the football out of a reaching Ashby's hands, forcing a fumble that then rolled towards the end zone!

Players from both teams scrambled for the loose ball, as a recovery in the end zone would have resulted in a touchdown and a championship, but in the end it was Strong Safety LeQuan James who pounced on the ball at the AKR-2 to secure possession and end the game in the most memorable of ways.

The XFL's first season under the HIFL umbrella ended in exciting fashion and capped what has been praised as a very successful reboot of the minor league system, and with several players from the XFL that were not under HIFL assignment looking for a path to the major leagues in the off-season, it will be interesting to see what happens next as some dare enter HIFL free agency in the off-season.  One player sure to be on the UFA list this off-season is Grady Ashby, who despite his fumble at the end of the game compiled an impressive 393 yards on 17 catches for 3 touchdowns during the post-season along with 1678 yards on 94 catches with 15 touchdowns in the regular season.   The 26 year old former LSU product also scored three special teams touchdowns with 2 kick returns and 1 punt return score while averaging 32.3 yards per kick return for the Gila Monsters.

SKY SPORTS EXCLUSIVE: GM DAZZ ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE FROM DC COBRAS!

DC --- Breaking News today has shocked the HIFLverse!  GM Dazz has announced his resignation from the DC Cobras after a 9-7 season results in the team missing the playoffs.

After a hot 6-1 start to the season, GM Dazz made a controversial decision replace offensive coordinator Dallas Prince with spread-offense savant Colin McPhee and after the team's week 8 bye, the Cobras failed to win back-to-back games and suffered from a brutal 3-6 stretch that was marred by losses to expansion teams Sydney and Amsterdam.

GM Dazz spoke with Sky Sports and announced his resignation saying:

"This season has been nothing short of a catastrophic failure for this organisation and the responsibility for that has to rest with me as GM. The performances of the players on the field have been wildly inconsistent and not at all what anyone expected from this roster. My approach to this project has been one of evolution rather than revolution. However no change I made... be it to players, system or coaching... had resulted in any improvement. It is clear to me now that revolution is needed in DC but I am too close to it to be able to make the required sweeping changes. I am therefore stepping aside to give space for the fresh blood needed in the GM office in order to turn this proud franchise around. I would like to thank the coaches for their hard work, the fans for their support and Mr Kiss for the opportunity here. I wish them and the organisation all the best for the future."

GM Dazz leaves the DC organization with a 33-30-1 record with the team while missing the playoffs in each of the last three seasons.

The Cobras are expected to aggressively pursue a replacement with playoff credentials, but Herschel Kiss is also said to be set on having a GM next season and will not go the route of the St. Louis Stallions, who went the entire year without an official GM.

BREAKING NEWS: IMPACT BOWL WINNER BRANDON "SANTELMO" GARCIA SHOCKS THE WORLD WITH MOVE TO ST. LOUIS, CALLS RELATIONSHIP WITH COACH MAX RHODES "TENSE!"

ST. LOUIS --- Just one year removed from hoisting the Impact Bowl Trophy with his Miami, GM Brandon Garcia has announced his resignation as general manager of the Miami Killer Whales while simultaneously announcing his decision to accept a position as the new General Manager of the St. Louis Stallions.

Garcia spoke with ESPN the magazine today explaining his decision while also shedding light on his relationship with head coach Max Rhodes.

On Miami:

"Of course, it was a hard decision. We got our championship together, but now is the right time to leave and pursue another challenge."

"I loved my time there, I've built friendships that will last a long time and developed some fantastic talent. Maria Crews, Samuel Chow, there are multiple players I would love to work with again, and I hope they don't feel I am abandoning them, they done me proud!"

On Coach Rhodes:

"Me and Coach Rhodes have always had a tense relationship, but this season was a breaking point for me. Embroiled in that ridiculous Turtle nonsense that almost saw himself get arrested, of course, I did my best to help the man, but his loyalty toward me and the club became clear not long after. We lead the team to glory together, but he was distracted this season, and without Trevor Jose, he doesn't know what he is doing with an offense. I lost all respect for the man, if I'm being honest, no doubt his wife has as well, so if she evers want something else, she's got my number!"

On St Louis:

"I'm very excited about this project! I've proven I am capable of building a team into a championship winning team, and I have learnt from my successes and my failures at Miami. You are going to see a new Brandon Garcia, and lets face it, that division needs some talent in the GM'ing department. I made the Gulf Coast division what it is today. Dominated the Florida Cup and ruined Alabama, I made their GM's force a change that saw them improve. The Mid-West, along with St Louis, are going to massively benefit from my arrival. I can't wait to get stuck in!"

GM Garcia leaves Miami with a regular season record of  50-26-1 and a 5-2 playoff record, he now takes over a Stallions franchise coming off of a franchise-worst 3-13 season.   The team, which was formed in 2019 has yet to achieve a winning season, having twice gone 8-8 before going 6-10 in Season 12, and 3-13 this season.    GM Garcia will inherit a top 5 draft choice in the first round and will clearly have his work cutout for him moving forward.

The Miami organization was not available for comment.

BREAKING NEWS: GM JUSTIN OUT HOURS AFTER RE-SIGNING WITH OAKLAND, ANDERSON GINOBILI SAID TO BE HOSPITALIZED AFTER TRAUMATIC INCIDENT SOME SAY IS THE GHOST OF GM TJ HAUNTING FRANCHISE!

OAKLAND --- It was only a month ago that Oakland was in the headlines for strange accusations and shocking resignations as Coaches Hall and Neuman each resigned from the Silverbacks organization due to traumatic experiences during conversations with GM Justin.

Now on the same day that the Oakland organization and GM Justin agreed to a 3 year contract, the team is parting ways with the GM due to another incident, this time with new head coach Anderson Ginobili.

While Coach Ginobili has been admitted to a local Bay Area hospital psych-ward unable to say anything but "cambiaformas" GM Justin's secretary, Fine Dossey said that from her office she could overhear the duo conversing over QB Steven Hudgins when suddenly it sounded like Coach Ginobili was speaking to himself, which triggered a scream from Ginobili.   Dossey called 911 and Security Carl responded nearly immediately and stayed with the group until medical assistance arrived.

In the aftermath of the incident Koba Caesar announced that the team would nullify the contract and let GM Justin go into free agency.

While GM Justin's season has been marred with strange shape-shifting and mind controlling accusations his reported loyalty is an attractive trait to clubs looking to replace GMs who "cut and ran" after facing adversity, making DC and Miami two likely destinations for the veteran GM.

BREAKING NEWS: SHOCKING TRADE SEND SHOCKWAVE THROUGH THE HIFL AS GM GRAVEDIGGER SHIPS KEENAN DALEY TO OAKLAND FOR 1ST AND 3RD ROUND PICKS BEFORE SIGNING WITH THE SILVERBACKS-- LEAGUE SAYS LOOPHOLE ALLOWS THE MOVE, LOOPHOLE TO BE ADDRESSED DURING OWNERS MEETING DURING OFF-SEASON!

OAKLAND --- In what could be the biggest overnight surprise move since the Baltimore Colts moved to Indianapolis in 1984, the Oakland Silverbacks have found a sudden fix at GM and Quarterback going into Season 14 while the San Antonio Knights suddenly find themselves in danger of seeing their dynasty end before their second championship could be obtained.

In a move that no one saw coming, GM Gravedigger signed off on a deal that would send former MVP Keenan Daley to Oakland for a First and Third Round Pick, the deal was signed off on by Daley due to his fully guaranteed contract, but after the paperwork was approved by the league office as a deal to be officially completed when the league's off-season officially begins, GM Gravedigger then signed his resignation letter with San Antonio and agreed to a 3 year contract worth $5MM per season to join Daley in Oakland as the new general manager of the Silverbacks filling a hole left after GM Justin was fired early last week.

San Antonio owner Lance Allouette immediately filed a grievance with the league but Oakland reportedly had already addressed the controversial trade exploiting a loophole that has never been used since the GM Era began.   The clause known as the "GM Transfer Trade" is an instance where a team is a GM is able to make a trade on his way to a new team, so long as the team he is joining finished with a worse record than his former team.   The GTT is likely to be a hot topic at the owners meeting as many of the newer owners were unaware that such a possibility was even allowed.

The fan base in San Antonio is said to be in total shock.  Not only have they lost the teams first and only GM they now lose their Impact Bowl and MVP winning franchise Quarterback as well.  One fan spoke out on twitter saying "GM Digger is dead to me.  Keenan Daley is dead to me too.  He had to OK that trade, and that just smells like #OaklandCollusion This is wrong and GM Digger has burned a bridge here in Lone Star State!"

With Gravedigger and Daley now set to lead the Silverbacks in the South Pacific Division the San Antonio Knights join the DC Cobras and Miami Killer Whales as teams looking for a new General Manager, marking the first time in history that the two teams who played in the previous season's impact bowl have both left their team in the same off-season.

BREAKING: GM FRESH TURNS DOWN MOVE TO DC AFTER AGREEING TO 1-YEAR EXTENSION AND PAY RAISE TO STAY IN TUCSON!

TUCSON --- With the off-season slowly churning to life as the HIFL playoffs rapidly progress, teams are beginning to work to retain or steal GMs around the league.  With reports of DC beginning to reach out to potential replacements for the departed GM Dazz, the Tucson Stars have come to an agreement with current GM Doug E Fresh to remain with the club beyond his contract that was set to expire next season.

The deal, which is a new two-year contract worth $3MM per season, will give Fresh a chanced to develop talent around rookie of the year candidate Thomas Maldonado and turn the Stars back into a playoff contender.

At a joint press conference with team owner Al Crowley, GM Fresh said:

"Mr. Crowley was the first person to give me a chance. With all respect to DC, I made a promise to bring stability to the Tucson franchise and work with ownership and coaches to build something special here. At the end of the day I don't feel like I've accomplished that yet and I want to be here to see it to fruition."

With GM Fresh turning down overtures from DC and with GM Dario being rumored to have done the same, the Cobras could turn to a currently unemployed GM such as James Franchise, Justin P, or Black Death once the off-season begins.

BREAKING NEWS: KNIGHTS PART WAYS WITH HEAD COACH FOSTER DIAZ AND ANNOUNCE HIRING OF GM CHRIS STRIKE - STEALING GM FROM MILWAUKEE AFTER NEGOTIATIONS ON NEW DEAL STALLED!

SAN ANTONIO -- The forced face-lift in San Antonio is in full effect.  Just days after losing GM Gravedigger and franchise QB Keenan Daley to the Oakland Silverbacks the San Antonio Knights' owner Lance Alloutte took advantage of a contractual breakdown between The Milwaukee Barons and GM Chris Strike and made a deal to bring the GM to San Antonio on a three year contract worth $3.75MM per season.

As a part of the deal, The Knights have parted ways with Head Coach Foster Diaz who resigned after a face to face with Mr. Alloutte.

GM Strike is set to inherit an offense that while now lacking a franchise QB boasts one of the best WR duos in the league with Shawn Simon and Rickey Lackey as well as promising young running back Julius Robles while featured several high quality defensive pieces that should see the Knights stay in the hunt in the Southwest as long as the team secures a quality quarterback during the off-season.

Foster Diaz now finds himself in a coaching free agent market that could heat up as seasons end and coaching changes begin to come to light.
