Great. Nice doing business with you

---
Ms. Watson, we got our guys signed, we have exhausted the ERFA hours. We have set up a great fan experience thanks to your quick math and research on those airline tickets. I am done with interviewing and now we let our coaches scout, investigate and come up with information to take with us to the draft.

(GM LUCAS SITS BACK)

I would like to finally get to know a little about yourself.

First, Do you like it here?

Second, What are your biggest pet peeves in this business. I think it's important that I now what I can and can't tire you out with?

Third, How many times can I ask for information on our economics? is that something I can ask of you every quarter of the season to avoid that dreaded question "How much do we have left?" I'll do my best to keep track but is that something you can do for me. I mean a wonderful compromise could be when we get down passed to around 2mm remaining in either bank you give me a heads up? Do you think either of those options is something we can work out. If so it can really negate me ever asking you?

Finally, working here under so many GM's, do you have any advice for a new GM like myself. What would be one helpful tip and one thing I should avoid at all cost.

I am happy with my job, yes...

My biggest pet peeves are tedious questions about things the GM should be able to figure out on their own with a little bit of research.

You /can/ ask me whenever you want, since you're my boss, but unless you want a lot of eye rolling, heavy sighing, and delayed phone calls in critical times, I'd keep track of your own finances and not rely on me unless its the start of the off-season or things like that.

..my advice is to not make crazy decisions or to call our beautiful city a state.

EYE ROLL

Thank you, that was very helpful and I will do my absolute best not to annoy you. As far as the State of Atlanta goes, I'm sorry, I haven't had time to sit and relax yet alone really let all this sink in. A Gm of my own team. Feels like yesterday I was writing a column about the tragedy in Seattle and interviewing GM Jon and "Here we are Now" Just a little in awe that's all. I'm a knucklehead, "State of Atlanta" (Laughs to himself) What was I thinking. Well I am glad I have someone like you to make sure that didn't hit the press. Georgia!, dammit, Georgia.

We might need to spend another $1MM in PR to fix it, so we dont end up only taking 2000 fans because the others dont qualify as "State of Atlanta" residents per your fine print on the promotion.

Go ahead, use the 1MM pr. A bone head mistake deserves a meaty price tag. Thank you Ms Watson. After you work your magic, I'll send it to the league office and you can take off and rest up. I wont be needing you until the combine. I'm going to head out to the Hotel across the street from the combine to make sure once the doors open I am there setting up. The Coaches and scouting director will email all the information when they are done. Thank you again Ms. Watson.

(GM Lucas looks out from his office window beyond the trees. After a few minutes he looks back at his desk at a small picture frame and grabs it. He looks at it and takes a deep breath)

GM Lucas mutters quietly to himself- I'm going to get this right.

(He puts the frame picture down on the desk and turns his laptop around as he prepares a memo to the league office with the correction)

Ms. Watson can you get me WR Kidwell please

--

Good day, I heard the news of your impending retirement. I traded for you knowing that would be the outcome. But I traded for you for your experience and what you can bring to a young receiving staff. Your fire and tenacity has no price tag. But I also have the intentions to move you to a contender mid season even if I have to take the loss. But I think your experience and leadership could go a long way here. I give you my word that come trade deadline, I'll move you to only top teams and I will do it even if I have to take the loss. You have my word. I'll talk to your agent and rewrite your contract with the writing saying I will trade you to a contender and if I am unable to find takers your salary will be guaranteed if you decide to retire at the trade deadline.

If I ain't gone before the draft ends I'm retiring now.. I'm not suiting up for this bum ass team.. And don't you dare trade me back to those punk asses in Oakland either, slap me with the franchise tag then pawn me off to this toilet bowl after ALL I did for them....

...na!  This is some bullshit. Straight up BULLSHIT.

Good luck in Rapid City Mr Kidwell.

------

Ms Watson, after a very up and down combine, trades, PR and salary being shifted my numbers show that we have 35.25 in Salary and 2.25 in PR left for next season. Is that correct. If not can you correct me please. Won't bother you again!

Ms Watson can you get me agent Hester

---

Mr. Hester, Let me start by saying I am not a GM that likes to cut players to save a few bucks. Every man in that locker room has a family or some type of responsibilities. With that said I ask you in because I believe in a mutual understanding between players, agents and the GM. You have a player on my roster Michael Evans, who when I look at their production didn't seem to have any impact last season due to either lack of playing time or the inability to find their mojo within our system. I would like to keep them on board and send him to our minor league affiliate the Savannah Heatwave where our scouting director is putting all his efforts in focusing on the defense. I think Mr. Evans can really blossom there in time to be called mid season to make an impact.

We have a long way to go. It would be premature to put that type of pressure on such a young man. There is already enough pressure of being picked as the QB for a rebuilding franchise. I can tell you this, he has a great opportunity to start and at that price, we don't tend to put 11 million on the bench but we also have a fine young man in Vega Del Rio that also deserves a shot in preseason. From what my coaches have told me, I know Mr. Mazza is up for the challenge.

---

Ms. Watson, why we wait for this undertaking to pick up haste can you get me our number one pick. Thomas Mazza

----

Thomas, Glad we could finally speak. I was going to call you right after the draft but I
felt with all the hugs and handshakes that I'm sure you had to hand out, I didn't want you to have a phone in your ear. But sometime has passed and I feel now that the excitement has simmered a bit, now we can talk. Let me first say regardless what QB was there, you were our man.

Absolutely, I would like to pick your brain. Just trying to gauge what type of offense I should be looking to put together around you. I have a question;

Would you consider yourself more of a gun-slinging passer who likes to eat chunks, move fast and throw down the field?

Or

Are you more of the patient, short yardage high percentage QB who likes to let the run set up the pass to avoid turn overs.

I feel like there are a lot of other options than that, I don't need the running backs to avoid turnovers, I can rely on my accuracy for that. I don't just do one thing. I want to take shots when I see them, but I also want to run plays that go for short quick gains.

And thatís why we drafted you. Amazing answer that only adds even more condifidence in our staff that we made the right choice. Your game will allow the flexibility we need to try and put a balanced offense together. Thank you Mr. Mazza. I hope your transition is smooth. With South Carolina nearly around the corner I know the acclimation should be easy. If there is anything you need please donít be afraid to ask me, if I can help I will.

Just to be clear I live in in South Carolina and the adjustment to moving to Georgia was simple so I know with Florida not to far off things shouldn't be much different.

AT THE DRAFT YOU ARE APPROACHED BY YOUR OWNER WHO PULLS YOU ASIDE OFF CAMERA, HE DOES NOT LOOK HAPPY

I would ask you what in the blue hell you are doing, trading away our assets for minimal return while eating salary AND trading away draft picks, but instead I will simply say this.

You are forbidden to make a trade without my blessing.  Any deal you want to do must now be sent to me via PM for final approval.  Period.

This is not what I had planned but one thing led to another and things stared unraveling. It won't happen again you have my word. My only focus now is to get recoup in these next few rounds. Thank You for pulling me aside. I do not intend to make any more deals that has us losing assets.

I'm trying to keep things balanced on both ends but I am concentrating on two things right now, running the ball and stopping the other team from running the ball.

We are pleased to have you here. One question before you go and get acclimated with the city. I like to ask all my players who have over 1m in in their marketing bank. How would you like your marketing bank spent;

Would you like things like Billboards, dedication days and Shirts?
.

Would you things like Charitable events and youth programs?

or a bit of both?
