SEASON 14 - TRAINING CAMP
1. Welcome back, lets talk off-season. What was your off-season like, what was your biggest addition to your team, and who is someone you wish you didn't lose?
Our off season was busy but productive. We had to make sweeping changes and I think we have. Offensively we have made huge strides in terms of offensive improvement with Ulysses Jacks and Roy Chandler bringing rookie enthusiasm. Then we have a homecoming in terms of Big Zeke coming home. I know he has had his critics in the past few seasons but this year this team has a point to prove.
Defensively Ah Sam and Sanderson are vital additions with the rookie Linebackers looking to make huge strides going forward.
2. Discuss any news that stood out to you from the off-season.
Peerless Adams needs a strong arm around his shoulder to encourage his off field antics while keeping him focused on his on field performance. I have done it before with some great talent in the past and I wonder if GM Bennett is a strong enough character to do the same.
It's always nice when there's a friendly rivalry between teammates and I hope Welker's positive attitude is maintained if the upstart rookie outshines him at their competition. I would also hope that this is a competition that doesn't end with a hostage situation.
I'm hoping Mr Obaje has kept his harddrive clean after being a victim of cybercrime.
Now I'm going to have to be forgiven but how is the term Warrior or the use of headdresses in any way offensive? I'm wondering if the large hairy gay community are offended by using Bruins instead of bears... It's being offended for offended sake and no part of the Warriors logo or imagery is offensive...
3. How many wins should your fan base expect this year, realistically and how far can you go?
It's a rebuild and as I said last season, it's not going to happen overnight. What I would like to see is the team getting the first of a few wins under their belt within the first couple of weeks. With Michigan's QB injury and then a game with Cancun, I can see a few wins coming to Atlanta this season.
4. If you were to improve one position on your team with a trade before the season starts, what position do you target, and are you looking to trade picks or players to get a deal done?
I'd look to improve the offensive line if anything. Tommy has the targets but he needs the protection and while I think the boys are capable, it's the one place I'd like to improve on. What I'd trade for that piece though is subject to the piece in question.
5. Are there any official position battles as we enter pre-season, if so, which ones?
We have depth in a few places so it's especially important to see who is going to take the premier positions especially at WR, LB and CB.
