I've been working in some broadcasting booths while I waited for a new opening to come calling.

Oh absolutely I still have the passion, I just didn't want to go back to the college ranks and deal with recruiting and everything else.  I learned more about offense than I did defense, I already know defense, but seeing how some of these teams scheme, it helped my game planning quite a bit.

He is a big strong guy who has done well in run blocking since he entering the San Antonio training camp in Mexico City.  He needs to work on his pass protection, but he's very strong and very hard to move.

PLAYING TIME: Mostly Starters

MINI-CAMP TRAINING:

OC Gordon Seymore - Pass Blocking

LB Michael Burger - Tackling
FS Rafael Caldwell - Football IQ
DE Kyle Smith - Speed

CAPTAINS:

Melvin Pugh
Robert Sapp
Mark Prince
William Davidson
Tony Stacy
Shane Barkley

PR CAMPAIGNS:

Michael Meek - $500k
"The Meek Inherits the Kingdom!"

Music City will partner with Lifeway Resources in downtown Nashville to put up a billboard with Michael Meek holding a football and the tagline "The Meek Inherits the Kingdom!"

Melvin Pugh - $1.75m
1m - “Pugh’s Power-I Academy” - GM Rebel’s snafu of adjusting the King’s game plan to phase out the running game, Melvin Pugh was hurt the most. Pugh has a wealth of knowledge to pass down to the next generation and to help rebuild his image as one of the premier running backs in all of the HIFL, Pugh will run a camp in the offseason for inner-city kids throughout Tennessee with a focus on teaching them the basics of the running back position while helping prepare themselves to get a college education using their football skills.

750k - “Pugh’s Pack” - A corner of the King’s Stadium will be designated as “Pugh’s Pack.” Before each game, arena staff will pass out crowns and t-shirts with Pugh’s likeness. Every time Pugh scores a touchdown, a member of the ‘Pack’ will be selected at random and receive the ball that Pugh scores with.

Erik Pitts - $3m
1.5m - “Pitts-Stop” - Perhaps the fastest man in all of professional football, Erik Pitts will join with the Nashville Super Speedway and NASCAR’s Kevin Busch to partner with a fan experience a ride along. Pitts will select 10 lucky fans to experience the Ride-A-Long with them as well as a backstage tour of Music City’s stadium.

1m - Erik Pitts will team with Rock-N-Roll Marathons that host over 30,000 marathon runners to sponsor the Nashville marathon. His name will be included on all of the promotional materials as the “Erik Pitts Rock-N-Roll Marathon of Nashville.”

500k - For every touchdown Pitts scores over 20-yards, a video will be shown on the big screen of Pitts outrunning a NASCAR car from the previous “Pitts-Stop” promotion.

James Van Driver - $750k
“Cover Man”
With Athlon Sports Communications being based in Nashville, it only makes sense that James Van Driver becomes the cover athlete for this year’s edition of the extremely popular “Athlon Sports HIFL Prediction” magazine. James Van Driver will be on the cover of the magazine and feature an article about his rise from a top high-school athlete all the way to one of the top up-and-coming HIFL receivers of today.

Mark Prince - $1m
“Heir to the Throne”
Music City will partner with HBO’s “Game of Thrones” for a special Game of Throne themed pregame photo opportunity with Mark Prince. Fans will have the opportunity to take pictures next to the seated and appropriately costumed Prince on the throne. In addition, every fan that participates will have a chance to win an extra role on the upcoming season of the show alongside Mark Prince.

Franklin Sanderson - $750k
“Big Frank”
There’s no doubt that Franklin Sanderson is a mountain of a man. Standing at approximately 300 lbs. and over 6-feet, he stands out whatever he goes. “Big Frank” will partner with AT&T, home of the biggest building in all of Nashville, to pose with fans and sign autographs at their AT&T Building in downtown. He’ll also be used a line of advertisements for AT&T’s new “BIG” data plan giving users the choice at unlimited data.

Tony Stacy - $2m
1m - “The Stacy Shimmy” - The two most exciting plays in football is when a big man scoops up a loose football and runs for a touchdown or when a powerful tackle slices through the offensive line for a game-changing sack. We’ve seen a tremendous amount of sack dances over the years but prepare yourselves for the grandaddy of them all with the “Stacy Shimmy!” Music City will work with Tennessee’s own critically acclaimed hip-hop group Three-6-Mafia to create a :20 second ‘hook’ to get the crowd up-and-moving every time Stacy records a sack or creates a big play.

1m - “Stacy’s Shortstacks” - Who doesn’t love pancakes? A new restaurant will open in the concourse of Music City’s stadium focusing solely on pancakes that are near and dear to our hearts. 50% of the proceeds from sales during Music City home games will go to a charity of Tony’s choice.

Chris Blevins - $1m
Chris will have the pleasure of introducing Tennessee’s own Justin Timberlake on his tour stop at Music City’s stadium. Blevins with partner with Justin Timberlake and Make-a-Wish foundation where 10 children selected from the Make-a-Wish program and their families will have the opportunity to get a backstage tour of both the Stadium and the concert.

Carrol Lang - $2m
“Clubber Carrol Lang”
Carrol will appear in a photoshoot with Mr. T as the iconic “Clubber Lang” from the Rocky franchise. Pictures will include Carrol in boxing gear as well as Mr. T dressed up in shoulder pads and eye-paint. Mr. T will appear at one home game during the season to take pictures with fans and Carrol Lang. Finally, t-shirts from the above photoshoot will be given to the first 7,500 people who arrive to the stadium for one home game.

Shane Barkley - $2m
1.5m - “No Fly Zone” - A commercial will be shown all over the Southeast of Shane Barkley swatting away passes intended for receivers in his immediate vicinity. After a brief highlight reel, the commercial will pan to Barkley sitting on the nose of an airplane and reminding fellow HIFL receivers that they’re entering a “No Fly Zone.”

500k - “Locked Down.” - Bobbleheads of Shane Barkley will be released during the first home game of the season of his likeness including a large chain necklace with a lock on the end of it … symbolizing his ability to lockdown opposing receivers.

Alfred Maggard - $2m
1.5m - “The Earl of Music City” - He isn’t a king. He isn’t a prince. His job is to patrol the sacred lands of Music City and destroy an enemy that comes his way - the highest honor one could have been given outside of the royal family: The Earl of Music City. Nobody gets by without his expressed permission … and he isn’t in any mood to negotiate. A billboard will by placed over the Southeast with Alfred Maggard’s arms-crossed and dressed in Medieval garb.

500k - With the partnership between Music City and MTV - the company will renew Maggard’s kid’s cartoon that was created several seasons ago … this time with a primetime time-slot and more of an adult theme.

SPECIAL MUSIC:

AFTER HOME VICTORIES: "How Do You Like Me Now?" by Toby Keith - Embracing Music City’s country roots, Toby Keith’s snarky ‘How Do You Like Me Now’ fits perfectly with a triumphant team celebrating a victory.

DURING PIVOTAL MOMENTS: “Jungle" by X Ambassadors and Jamie N Commons Ft. Jay Z - when those pivotal moments in big games appear, football can be like a gladiator stepping into the Colosseum, having to dig deep to walk out victorious. The struggle will be real, and this song is about fighting through it all.

Hello GM Rebel, Attached you will find our team report from training camp.

Locally fan support is "okay" but recently with the addition of the team in Charlotte and the massive draft class of Atlanta fan support has been shifting toward those teams as well, so we need to defeat them as much as possible to win that support back and solidify ourselves in the region.

"Coach Crowder, please."

--

"Coach, welcome back."

"What are your first impressions of Micheal Meek? You can't ever just replace a Hall of Famer like Trevor Jose, but it's no secret with our dynamic passing attack that we need a top-flight QB to succeed. As you've seen him throw a little bit in camp, what kind of season can we expect?"

"Defensively, I thought we made really good additions. Stacy, Lang, Burger and Caldwell are all upgrades. Do you see us lowering our allowed PPG this season?"

I think he is talented, tat is for sure.  He has great arm strength and advanced accuracy for a rookie, he has the occasional bad-read or decision making error, but he is far ahead of what you'd typically expect, although this draft was a pretty stocked pond, I think we made a great pick up.  There will be plenty of growing pains, but I don't see him as a liability nearly as much as I see him as an asset.

"Are there any position battles you'd like to see in the preseason games?"

We don't really have any major battles worth monitoring, the biggest thing is looking at our linebacker hierarchy, but they will all start regardless.

"I think you're correct, coach. I think Lang and Burger will certainly help bring a little thump from the linebacking core. But otherwise, we're pretty well set ... I think we're going to play the pre-season as usual unless anything else comes up between now and the time we get on the bus."

"I've got one more thing to discuss with you and I'll let you get back to practice. I've been accused of being too loyal to my coaches in the past and I couldn't agree more ... people seem to want to paint that in to a negative and I would argue. I like continuity and I like knowing what we've got instead of the unknown. With that being said, you're a free agent at the end of the season. Where are you on coaching beyond this season?"
