Mr. Ames I plan on doing a bit of that this evening just need to speak to you on a certain matter before hand. We're trying to avoid going over the cap here in Music City and in order to do this I need ask a player or two to restructure their contracts. Now, Mr. Ames we're in a special situation where as though I may be asking the player to restructure their contract in terms of salary I am fortunate enough to make up that money lost in salary in bonus money so it's practically as if they aren't losing anything.

In this case I am calling to see whether or not Mark Prince would be up to doing just this. I see that he is on the final year of his contract here which we had all hope of resigning him next off season but we can perhaps delay that for another year. Here's my suggestion Mr. Ames. We extend Mark's contract for another year maybe two even. And for this we take up to $2MM or $2.5MM out of his salary and transfer that over to his bonus money. So with that we'd be looking at Mark having one or two additional seasons here in Music City at either $8.75MM or $8.25MM per year in salary and $3MM or $3.5MM in bonus money. I'm even open to throwing in an additional $500K for Mark for doing this.

As for you Mr. Ames I did say I planned on showing you the money. I have about 4 (5) spots left on my roster and I plan on using the remaining funds to sign some more of your clients to join our Kingdom here in Music City.

I know this may be a big ask for yourself and Mark but this would be something greatly appreciated.

Well Mr. Leventhal I was wondering if he'd be willing to take a 1 year deal for the veteran minimum of $500K. I'm not exactly sure why any of the other teams thought to bring him in but I would love to have him here. With this one year I'm sure he'd be able to get a bigger deal that he deserves elsewhere next season if we aren't able to keep him here.

PR CAMPAIGNS

Michael Meek - Kingdom Come Pt. 2 - $250K
After his breakout season in his sophomore year MTV/Viacom decided to go ahead and renew Michael Meekís web series. Meekís season came to an abrupt ending once he went down with his leg injury and thereís no telling how much of an impact that injury has done. The season will pick up from that moment he got hurt, showcase his recovery while watching them make the playoffs and etc. Fans will witness the grit and determination of a young QB who took the HIFL by storm last year by submitting himself as one of the best QBís in the league. Just like the first season of the show fans will be able to not only see Meekís life as a professional football player but as well the man himself which fans seemed to really enjoyed as much as they did watching him as a football player.

Alfred Maggard, Jackson Havlock, Michael Montero, Charles Bishop and Rafael Caldwell - Dungeon Incorporated - $1.25MM
Last season including the playoffs our secondary proved just how outstanding they are. They were able to shut down various aerial assaults to about nil and void. In some cases it surprised other teams and their GMís alike once seeing how formidable the Kingsí secondary is. We want to honor our Kings of the Air by giving them a moniker that quite suits them and their approach to the game ...Dungeon Incorporated! Keeping up with the theme of medieval times, it was only right that we give these lock down defenders a name like Dungeon Incorporated because not only are they lock down defenders but they are apart of our kingdom and every receiver corp must take a trip down to the dungeonís when dealing with these men. To honor them our marketing team has made adís to go up around the state of Tennessee whether it be print ads, billboards or even on the web! On our official YouTube Channel youíll also get to see exclusive highlights from games or practice; interviews before and after games; detailed video breakdowns with a member of the crew; video tips for kids who aspire to become as good as the Kings who run the castleís Dungeon! There will be exclusive merchandise sold at home games & team gift shop as well.

Dale Bright - Bright Future: From Knight To King - $250K
To welcome the defensive lineman to the Kingdom, we will have several ads (print and digital - includes billboards) around the state of Tennessee and even neighboring states to welcome the man who was once a knight who rode his Stallion with prestige but has not risen to new heights as after fighting in countless wars and has now become a King! Downtown Nashville on Broadway will see countless celebrations of the new found King of Music City welcoming him home to the Music City. If you head into one of the famed restaurants on this famous street you might even find a menu item named after our new king!

Melvin Pugh - The Man, The Myth, The King. - $250K
There will be commercials throughout the season along with advertisements (print & digital) that go along with them that has to do with some kind of known mythical story that has gone on around history yet to be proven. With these myths come a person in history who is said to have been the hero of each one. In these commercials it would be none other than Melvin Pugh that is the hero of these mythical tales. People speak as if he doesnít exist, as if he isnít one of the best running backs in the world. Letís use that to our advantage turn it around on them. Pugh proves heís one of the best RBís in the league but heís constantly looked over. Why? He is The Man. He Is The MythÖ..He Is The King.

MUSICAL LICENSES

1. Use three words to classify how your off-season went and explain.

Determined. Risk. Reward.

Determined because coming into the off-season we were determined to keep some key players as well as improve on both ends.

Risk, we put our money where our mouth was when signing Dale Bright. We took a risk on trading a bunch for draft picks during the draft. We've taken these risks because we feel we were placing ourselves right where we wanted to be successful this upcoming season and the beyond.

Reward, we made one of the biggest off season acquisitions in Dale Bright this off season. We brought in a lot of great talent and the includes our new defensive coordinator. With the moves we've made this off season there's no doubt about it, the music will be playing a bit louder going forward.

2. Coming out of training camp, where do you rank your team in the division, in the conference, and in the league?

To be quite honest I see ourselves as 2nd or 3rd in the division, 5th or 6th in the conference and I have us somewhere in the top 10 in the league.

Yeah I don't give a shit what some of these GM's might think or some people in the media might be telling themselves each and every day trying to convince themselves that whatever crap they're saying is true. We got us a strong team this year and we're only getting better.

It's such a shame some of these people have yet to learn not to doubt us.

3. Do you have any position battles planned for the preseason?  Which jobs are up for grabs and what do you hope to gain from the preseason games?

There's a few I can see.

I want to have a definitive 2nd string at QB so we'll see Owens and Alicea contend for that spot.

Hans & Julian will compete for the 2nd string TE spot

Wanna see how things develop between McDonald, Lavar Jr. and Rosser. That's gonna be a fun one to watch.

Gotta huge battle for all three slots at the guard position. We're not yet set on that line up just yet but we do believe Seal is primed to start. So we'll be seeing who will be playing along side em in terms of McClung and Donnelly.

I think we're pretty much set in terms of position battles else where. We'll make the appropriate adjustments after the preseason.

4. List one victory and one failure for you personally this off-season as the GM of this franchise.

The obvious victory for us was the signing of Dale Bright. But one failure I see for us was losing out on Chris Blevins. We thought we'd see him retiring this year and I hoped to retire his jersey number once the season began but that just wasn't the case. If we knew he was going to play another year we would've brought him back for sure.

"Melvin Pugh has long been a vocal player who declares his greatness to anyone who will listen... yet he has only 2768 yards over 3 full seasons as a starter, carrying the ball 683 times over 48 games.  Going into his contract year, what type of numbers do you want to see out of him before you reward him with a big contract?"

Melvin Pugh is one of the best running backs in this league. We've seen some great improvement in our rushing core and we have no doubt that Pugh will have a huge impact this season. We don't discredit Pugh's greatness and would do some of you some good not to either, to be honest.

Yes we have a committee when it comes to our rushing core and that's how we like it. All three of our running backs are special. They all have a significant purpose in our offense. We know that each one of them will be making a huge impact this season as much as they did last season if not more. This include Christopher Sanchez who is in my honest opinion the best full back in HIFL.

With that said, when it comes to contracts I want to say this now. This goes for everyone on our roster that is on their contract year. We will do everything in our power to keep them in our kingdom...Sorry I misspoke..THEE Kingdom. If they want to stay here we will do right by them if we are absolutely capable of doing so.

That's all I will say on the matter when it comes to our players and their contract seasons. Our focus is on this season and our team's success.

THE MEDIA EATS UP "THEE KINGDOM" AND GOES ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS.

Think you handled that question really well.  Any questions coming out of camp that I can help with?

Thanks Coach, didn't really appreciate what they were trying to imply.

Would like to know your thoughts on what I said about the position battles. Also I think we should move Leon Vitale to SS3 and James Milton to SS2.

I think Milton would be the better SS2 too.  I like the position battles you listed, hopefully the competition forces guys to step up and not make us choose from two mediocre performances.

Great minds think alike, am I right?

I'll let you get us prepped for the preseason Coach. We'll meet up again to see who won out these battles.

Before you got Coach, do you know if any of the players need to speak with me at all?

1. Who stood out to you from your two preseason games and did anyone fail to impress you?
From what I've seen in the two preseason games everyone impressed me a bit. There are some who stand out a lot to me one of them being Leland Creamer, that's for damn sure. Love that kid. As for others I'll keep the rest to myself for the time being.

2. We saw a lot of big plays in the pre-season, do you think this is a case of starters playing against back ups, early-season rust, or do you predict a season of explosive plays?
I think this is going to be an explosive season for all teams despite whose playing or not to be honest with you. We have a lot of guys who were kept from the minors that are finally getting a chance in big leagues to showcase their skills. Sophomore players are even better than they were last season and there's some rookies that you have to keep an eye on this season. It's gonna be a wild ride, I guarantee it.

3. Did anyone earn or lose a starting job in pre-season?  If so who and why?
I rather not answer this question to the media at this time. There's a lot to discuss in my meeting with the coaches on this matter and I rather have that talk with them on what is best for the team going forward.

4. Has your opinion changed of your team after pre-season?  Care to make a final prediction on your teams regular season record?
No, not at all. I don't know what our record will be but we'll be supplying the music in the playoffs.

5. Discuss your week one opponent, and what you need to see from your team to insure a win.
We got a tough Bruins team to take on week one. I believe we have the tools to win the game in every aspect. We just have to be sure to protect our kingdom. We plan to do just that, but we know how good Kansas City is. There's not a team in this league we are taking lightly. Some of these other teams and GM's might like to doubt us, but we won't lower ourselves to that kind of thinking here in Nashville. We respect our opponents and won't second guess their talent or the challenge they present. It's on them to respect us...The Kings. And if they don't already? Well....They will by the end of the game.

Loving the way we ran the ball from a YPC perspective.  Shows we can control the tempo if we choose to.
