Hello Mr. King, I had heard word that this team here in Nashville was lonesome tonight without a General Manager to guide its hand and thus, I have come here to offer my humble application into the fold. My name's Chris Strike, I've made my name mostly as a General Manager in basketball and as a candidate, I would be looking at it as a way to make its arrival in the HIFL with an emphasis on youth, a few solid veterans to serve as captains and teach the younger ones the ways of the football world and an experienced staff to bring the best out of everybody - with an extra emphasis on a passing attack.

I do apologize for barging in on the interview, but I wanted to make my interest known. I can wait until you're done with GM Justin before coming back in.

whoa whoa fellas, let's take a minute to settle down here.

Obviously one of you will be spending the off-season at the heart break hotel without a job here in the HIFL, but I believe you both have bright futures here.

...GM Strike, I admire your work in  Champaign, but your vision seems to be a little off from what I am seeking.  I appreciate you coming here to the end of Lonely street to apply, but I believe we are going to give GM Justin the blue sued shoes, naming him the General Manager for season 6...

GM Justin, welcome to Graceland!

Hi there, I'm Princess Twang and I'm your connection to the rest of this here team, I am the secretary here in Music City and I love my job, lord knows. Bless your heart, you're late to the party but luckily for us Coaches around these parts are hungry to get paid so we can probably poach a coordinator or two if we don't find anyone on the market who we like.

Now just so you know dear, we have 135MM in salary for next season and 40MM in PR  These are the caps for next season set by the league and we can not violate them.  We have until we lock in for the regular season to comply with the cap numbers, but once the regular season starts any violation of these caps will result in immediate penalties, so please do be careful.

The league has generously blessed us with scouting to help us prepare for the expansion draft, free agency, and the amateur draft.
We have:
- 16 Free Veteran Film Study Reports from League Scouts
- 10 Free Rookie Film Study reports from League Scouts
- Free Trip to the Scouting Combine where our coaches will evaluate 3 positions and give us their opinion on the top players at each position along with information they collected along the way.
- 6 Free Combine Interviews
- 3 Free Rookie Private Work Outs

Let me know what you'd like to do next and we'll get right to work sweetie.

Bill, as you know the Kings are an expansion team and I am looking for a head coach to lead our team. I notice you have 20 years of coaching experience. Can you please tell me where that 20 years comes from and break it down as to how much was as a coordinator and a head coach.

Well I started my career as a DE at NC State, went to the pros in the seventies and then retired.  I became the DC in Pittsburgh in 80. Coached their until 87, went back to NC State to become head coach until 90.  Got the Wolfpack to the Orange Bowl and won it, and then got brought back to Pittsburgh to be their head coach from 91-2010. I retired for a few years and came back last year.  I didn't get an offer to head coach so I took a job with Alabama as a DC just to keep sharp.  People were fools to over look me last year, and even more foolish to forget about me this year.

Suffocating defense, hard nosed players, and a ground game that will make defensive coordinators piss their pants.

I like a traditional pro style offense, I want a solid slot receiver for when we do run from the shotgun or spread, but I'm primarily an old-school pro set guy.

On defense I have always succeeded most with a 3-4 attacking defense, one that gets to the QB with great rushing OLBs and big space eating defensive linemen.

As long as you don't hire some wack job who's wanting to run the spread all day or some pansy DC who thinks they are who we thought they were, I can work with anyone.  I'd prefer a veteran OC, one who can function without me looking over his shoulder. DC can be young or old, as long as they understand the 3-4 and aren't too conservative.

I was  record setting QB in Miami but I never won a title... it's too bad, some called me the greatest QB of all time.

I've had a few OC jobs here and there, but my best work was helping Giovanni Hill be such a force last year in St. Paul.  I'm a passing guru and I think he made some strides this year towards being a championship winning QB.

Hey man, here is my story... I was a back up RB all my life, played some WR too but wasn't ever given a fair shot.  I went back to Davidson and coached the past few season in the NCAA...

I like a balanced style of play a little run and a little pass.

I believe the back ups deserve a shot, they get no respect man.

Hell son I spent the past 10 years making FSU a defensive powerhouse. Before that I spent 10 years in Denver and 5 years in Washington all as the head coach.  I've had great running backs in my past, but defense is what I hang my hat on, a 4-3 defense with a strong pass rushing front four, so that my linebackers can help the DBs in coverage...

Well you'll need to get a coach who's already got a job then...

LeBlanc, Louis, Freese, Barbour, Beast, Carpenter, Seau, Ridley, King, and Graham are all 3-4 users.. or are at least open to it. Ted Collier too, but his is a hybrid.

I play to win the game, nickle base set with the ability to fluster QBs with great safety play is my game.  I spent most of you career in New York but then moved to Kansas City later in my time. I was a starting safety for the super bowl champion Bears back when they were shufflin' to victory.

My career was going great, in S1 I played for Tombstone and had 108 tackles 3 forced fumbles a sack and a safety in 16 games as a team captain and starter... but then I got a concussion and didn't play in S2, I retired and became a defensive assistant for Alabama for their Season 3 and Season 4 championship seasons. Last year i was the DC for Missouri and I'm still under contract. I'm still learning, but I am great with training DT's to eat blocks for the linebackers to get into the backfield.

I like to attack on defense, I'm a blitzer at heart.

Well, this last season I didn't have a dominant pass rush, might have been the personnel we had in Missouri, but for as well as my secondary played, I didn't see a threat to the QB on my defensive front seven.  I would say I need to do better at developing an edge rusher.

Thank you for the honest response Coach.  After speaking with you I am interested in offering you the defensive coordinator position with the Kings.  Now I know we are an expansion team, but the opportunities are abundant.  First and foremost you will get to work under our head coach Bill Crowder who is a 3-4 guru and will be able to help mentor you and help you become an outstanding defensive coordinator.  Secondly, the three of us can work together to bring in guys who you feel will fit in with your system and allow you to mold a dominating pass rush and hard hitting secondary that you currently envision.

Are you interested?

Hey sonny, I'm Leo Sanders. Innovator of Michigan's spread offense.  I've been a college coach for all my days as a head coach, but I spent 6 years with the greatest show on turf as a WR coach. I like to find talented youngsters who are ready to play, I'm not big on project players.

If I have a running back who can use his speed to gain the edge, I'll use him as long as he can also contribute to the pass game as a receiver out of the backfield. I'd say I run the ball overall about 35% of the time, but with the right back I'd move it up to 40%.

I will have to think about that for a little bit.  THanks for your time coach, I will get back to you.

Can I speak with Steve Brigham please.

Steve, I understand that you're the offensive coordinator in Alabama, but was wondering do you have any interest in possibly leaving?

Good afternoon sir, Cameron Hollingsworth here. I was interested in your offensive coordinator position.

I'm the HIFL's all time leading rusher with 5197 yards and 40 TDs over the league's first four seasons.  I served last year as Las Vegas' offensive coordinator and now I'd like to be the OC under Coach Crowder. I am only in my second year as a coach, but I believe my pro style balanced approach to offense would benefit an expansion team, especially one that has hired a coach like Mr. Crowder who has always been known for his dominant defenses.

What would be your run/pass ratio as far as play calling?  Do you prefer a feature back or a committee approach?  What is your feeling on running out of the I-Formation?
