This should work for you. You could use VBA if you wanted to make it neat (if you've got a large number of students to process then use Microsoft Access for this and just use SQL) but this is the easiest way to follow. You'll just need to add in the VLOOKUP for each student to the GPA calc column but otherwise you should be good.

Ok, so I need your help again.  I'm on the right track, but know I'm missing something.  I've attached the spreadsheet.

In the cell labeled "Total Projected Quality Points" I'm trying to add the total quality points for the courses in the middle of the sheet (used VLOOKUP) and add it to cell E2.  The issue I am having is the VLOOKUP is adding only the points for the grade and not the total quality points (which is grade times # of credits).  So it's giving me 51 instead of 81.

Where's the number of credits for each course? I'm assuming the code to the calculator has it hardcoded as 3 if so make B16

=SUM(VLOOKUP($B10,GradeControl,2,FALSE),VLOOKUP($C10,GradeControl,2,FALSE),VLOOKUP($D10,GradeControl,2,FALSE),VLOOKUP($E10,GradeControl,2,FALSE),VLOOKUP($F10,GradeControl,2,FALSE))*3+E2

and that should give you 81 as total.

You proper teachers have it hard. I basically just pluck random grades out of thin air. If you're a student I like, you get a good grade. If you've pissed me off, you're screwed.

Then they have clearly been paying attention in class and get top marks.
