ELAUHHHHELAUHHHHHHH!

-----

Starr, let's get to work. We have a a offensive coordinator to hire. Can you put me in contact with Garry Fedora over at the University of North Carolina for an interview? Thank you.

-----

Coach Fedora, this is GM Jon Hallquist with the Seattle Lumberjacks of the HIFL. I am contacting you about our open offensive coordinator position and first wanted to know if you'd be willing to jump to the professional level as coordinator or not?

Well that would depend GM Jon, what's the money looking like.  I've got a nice extension on the table back St Chapel Hill, but since I haven't had any offers to come to the league before, I think I may have to settle on starting as an OC first. Despite the fact I do nothing but produce HIFL-ready talent on both sides of the ball.

So what did you have in mind?

With your ultimate ambition to be a head coach, how about a 2 year deal worth $8MM? This allows you to get your feet wet in the HIFL and work with Coach Graham, maybe even pick a few things up from Coach Murdoch too if you want. I think you'd solidify our coaching staff and get us back on the track to bringing a championship to Seattle.

(PLAYER NAME) (Campaign Theme/Tag Line)

Elias Ibrahimovic: "Ibra-cadabra"

750K: National commercial; Scene starts with Elias on a stage wearing stereotypical magician garb with a wand in his right hand. He takes off his top hat with his left hand and says... IBRA-CADABRA, waves his wand and a poof of smoke fills the screen. As the smoke fades, you see Elias now on a field playing in a football game, he takes the snap, looks to throw deep but pass rush is coming. He spins away from a defender... stiff arms another before sprinting out of the pocket, still looking downfield. Another player approaches and he throws a pump fake, getting the defender to bite and jump in the air. He then takes off down the sideline. A defensive back approaches and he jukes him so hard, the defender falls before sprinting into the endzone for a touchdown. Then with the football in his hand, he does same magic wand manuver and once again smoke fills the screen. It's back to Elias on the stage in his magician garb taking a bow, flowers being thrown on the stage, as he looks into the camera and winks.

250K: T-Shirt; The t-shirt will come in either Seattle green/blue combo or black/white combo and will be in the style of the Barrack Obama "Hope" poster. Will be sold in the Seattle Lumberjacks team store called "The Axecess" and at participating retail stores.

250K: Local Commercial; Scene opens up to Darren Pierce hosting a cooking show featuring a knife set. He has a chef hat and everything. Darren pulls out the first knife and on the cutting board is a piece of fence, shaped like the letter D. As Darren cuts the fence with ease, it cuts to highlights of Darren Pierce... piercing through the defense's of other teams. After a long touchdown play by DP in which he makes multiple defenders miss, it cuts back to him as he holds up the now two pieces ofthe fence before tossing them aside as he gives a smile. It fades to the Seattle Lumberjacks logo and season ticket information for the upcoming season.

250K: T-Shirt; The t-shirt will come in the colors of black, white, Seattle blue, Seattle green. On the front will be his number 13 with the Lumberjacks logo on the upper right side. 250K: Local Commericial; Scene opens up to a bully stealing a football from a kid and takes off running. Then you see a poof of smoke and a flash of light that goes from left to right on the screen, followed by right to left. The smoke clears and the kid has the ball back in his hands with a huge smile upon his face. That scene fades into a women yelling for her dog that has ran off from her at the park. You see the same light going both ways and a poof of smoke. As it clears, the women has her dog, leash in hand as she waves thankfully. Another scene now where it's Martin Back in his football uniform, helmet in his right hand. He looks back at the camera and says... "Be back in a flash!". He straps the helmet on and a poof of smoke again. On the scoreboard in the distance, you can see it say Touchdown, Martin Back. The flame lights a few sparklers as it fills the screen in bright light before fading into highlights of the Seattle Lumberjacks season and most notably McKenzie Lightner. After a pick 6 highlight of Lightner, we fade the sparklers back into view as we see Lightner appear, the sparklers fizzle out, leaving only the flame of the lighter. Lightner blows out the flame as thousands of sparklers behind him ignite. SEATTLE LUMBERJACKS
PRESS CONFERENCE

SEASON 12 - TRAINING CAMP

1. Use three words to classify how your off-season went and explain.

"Challenging: Anytime you go into an offseason with some important contracts to negotiate and players to re-sign, it comes with a challenge. Would've loved to bring back Hagan for another season or more in Seattle, but we were delighted in being able to workout a deal to bring in Matthews. Despite losing Hagan to free agency, we did well on bringing back key and essential personnel back to the team for this season and beyond. Guys like Ibra, Arreola, and Lang. Then in free agency to also bring in guys like Neuman, Seal, Schofield, Pullen.... just really help round this team into better depth on both sides of the football. So while it was challenging, we also feel like we succeeded.

Ready: Over the last two season's we've seen a slow and steady progress that has seen us reach new heights within this organization. From making our first playoff appearance to winning our first division title. This season, we're ready to not only win our first playoff game, but to also make that jump to truly compete for an Impact Bowl championship. We have an offense that can put up points and a defense that can slow down the opposition and create turnovers. We're ready.

Deep: Last season, one thing that hampered us late in the year was injuries. With the expanded roster additions, we were able to strategically build our depth chart to avoid running into some of those same problems that plagued us. We really love the depth that we have on this team and while losing a core player would undoubtedly hurt, we also feel like the next man up can come up and get the job done."

2. Coming out of training camp, where do you rank your team in the division, in the conference, and in the league?

"I think we rank right up there with the best in the league. If you look at our roster in comparison to the rest of the teams, I think you'll see a team that can go out there and be competitive against anyone each and every week. The goal is to be the best in our division... the best in our conference... and the best in the league. But to give you an honest assessment of where we rank in each, I don't have a real gauge on how the other teams really look yet. In the offseason, so many changes occur between staffing, players, new rookies, rule changes, etc... I'd be just spitballing for the sake of answering a question that really has no meaning at this present time. Like I said though, I do think we're a top team in this league and we'll be ready to prove that each and every week this season."

3. Do you have any position battles planned for the preseason?  Which jobs are up for grabs and what do you hope to gain from the preseason games?

"We don't have a lot of position battles, but we have a few that we'll be tracking on during the preseason games. On the interior defensive line, Kyle Davis is locked as the starter, but playing time behind him on the depth chart could be Hale, Black, or Trapp. And with our quality depth at linebacker, anyone can rise to the occasion for more playing time. It's never a bad thing having too much talent. As for what to gain from the preseason games... the first is to remain healthy... the second is to shake off a little bit of that offseason rust that accumulates so that when Week 1 is here, we're ready to go."

4. List one victory and one failure for you personally this off-season as the GM of this franchise.

"For me, my failure would be sending James Duong, who doesn't exist, to a specialized training and wasting a valuable opportunity to send James Luong. That's on me though and I humbly apologize to James for the mix up when sending in that information. I pride myself on not making silly mistakes like that and I stand here pretty foolish after allowing one to happen. As for my success, I think it was bringing in our new offensive coordinator, Gary Fedora into the staff. We're excited about what he adds to Coach Graham's style and really feel like he's a perfect fit for this team."

"Do you have any comments on the budding on and off-field rivalry between Elias Ibrahimovic and Keenan Daley?  Their Yacht adventures this off-season did capture headlines, what is your take?"

I think it's great for the league and for our teams to have a healthy rivalry. Both Elias and Keenan are fantastic football players and let's be honest, these guys work hard all season long and deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labor during the offseason. Elias was here for training camp and is prime and ready to take this team to a championship this season... so I have nothing to worry about.

What do you think of playing back-ups mostly?

Makes sense to me. We'll just set the playing time to mostly backups and deal with the playing time that comes from it, yeah?

That’s my thoughts exactly. Plus with the expanded rosters, it allows us to see what we have in our depth. Excited about this season. Anything you wish to go over before we lock it in for the preseason?

SEATTLE LUMBERJACKS
PRESS CONFERENCE

SEASON 12 - PRE-SEASON

1. Who stood out to you from your two preseason games and did anyone fail to impress you?

"It was great to finally see the team back on the field and seeing the season underway. A lot goes into the offseason and as a General Manager, the preseason is our first look at the teams we were able to build. I am pretty happy with what I saw from our team and our depth being showcased. I noticed a few things I'll need to do a little different next preseason, but all in all, I enjoyed watching our team perform. As for who stood out, I have to say Quan Black for sure. The rookie showcased his ability to make the tough yards, use his speed to gather big chunk plays, and also have that nose for the end zone. No doubt he has the potential to be a special player for us this season and in the future of this franchise. When you say who failed to impress me, I don't have a name for you there. Like I said, I was pleased with the effort our team gave out there."

2. We saw a lot of big plays in the pre-season, do you think this is a case of starters playing against back ups, early-season rust, or do you predict a season of explosive plays?

"I think it's a little bit of both in the case of starters against back-ups and early season rust. A lot of guys are trying to stay as healthy as possible, while also maintaining that competitive edge. It's a tough balance to manage in a preseason game, because you don't want your season lost because you did something that was in the grand scheme of things, unnecessary. But the explosive plays is also a product of the HIFL athlete becoming more and more athletic. Many college programs are all about big plays and that philosophy somewhat gets adopted on the professional level. Will we see as many per play like we did in the preseason, I highly doubt it. But I'm sure each week, you'll see your fair share of them."

3. Did anyone earn or lose a starting job in pre-season?  If so who and why?

"There were a few positions I had checkmarked entering the preseason, but I'm not going to unveil who gained or lost a starting position to the press before I talk to our coaching staff and the players involved first."

4. Has your opinion changed of your team after pre-season?  Care to make a final prediction on your teams regular season record?

"My opinion has not changed, if anything, it has strengthened. We're excited to take the field for our season opener and see what this team can do for the full 60. As for a record predictor, I will say that I firmly believe we are a double digit winning ballclub here."

5. Discuss your week one opponent, and what you need to see from your team to insure a win.

"It doesn't get much harder then opening the season against a quality opponent on the road. That's exactly what we have to do when we travel to Michigan to face the Monsters. Once again, GM Powers has assembled a quality team lead by a strong coaching staff. What we'll need to do is prevent the big plays from happening. Gio Hill has a lot of playmakers around him and we'll need to contain and make them work for every single yard. I can't wait for kickoff, it's going to be another great year for Seattle football. Go Jacks!"

Michigan is a tough first game, but it gives us a chance to make a statement right out of the gates.

It’s definitely going to be a measuring stick game to see where we stack in the league. I wanted to talk to you about a few things on the offensive side of the ball before we lock it in for Michigan. What is your thoughts on Finch? Do you think he’s good enough to jump Chriscoe in the depth chart or do we keep things as is?

I guess it depends on what we want to lean on?  Chriscoe has a track record of 3-4 catches per game for 50 or so yards, and he's got a knack for making catches at the sticks for a first down, but he's also showing his age at 32.  Where Finch has the surer hands and upside.

I think they're about equally rated overall, so it just comes down to what we want.

Appreciate that info Coach, I guess we'll roll out with Chriscoe to start the season and depending on how things go, we might try Finch as the WR3 at some point. On to my next question... Jamaal Seal. No doubt he has the ability to start for most teams in this league and we have him at a bargain price for the season. In your opinion, is he worth shopping around to see what we can get in return? The counter arguement to that is if we have an injury, he'd be an instant replacement without losing too much. But it was just something that I was thinking about, maybe try to shore up one of our weak areas like, defensive tackle. Thoughts?
