Why do people always use these things on day 1, when we have no information?

As night falls in New York, inside the bare IBF offices, Nixon Kennedy-Johnson sits in a large leather chair as the door opens.

Nixon Kennedy-Johnson:  Highway, what can I do for you?

Highway Dunn: Well, I got a job, which I like. Thank you, but I need some thrill. You left me a good, disciplined, team. Ain’t no challenge. Give me a challenge friend.

NKJ  slides him an envelope, which Highway  opens.

Highway Dunn: Thanks.

He leaves the office.

---

At the airport, Justin is waiting to claim his bag. He is approached by John Meeks, who greets his with a punch in the face. Justin is knocked out on his feet and falls forward, his neck landing on the edge of the baggage claim, snapping. Blood start to come out of his mouth as his assailant walks away. Amini Fatu comes “running” in in shock.

Amini Fatu: KISH! NO! KISH!

DEAD: JUSTIN - RIKISHI USO - TOWN NEIGHBOR

---

As sun begins to come up we see Jorge Chacon walking out a building wearing a NAMBLA shirt.

Jorge Chacon: Adios Timmy! I’ll see you next week. Awesome slumber party!

He walks out into alley and trips over something. He looks back and he sees….

DEAD: JON - CLOVER FIELDS - 1x TOWN VIGILANTE

To me, the write-up seems to suggest that Highway was given a contract by Nixon. I think it's possible that we will see a kill during the day phase or the following night. I can't think what else that red conversation was about. I don't know if Digger is scum or not, but I don't think it's quite as cut-and-dry as Metro makes out.

Perhaps so but Digger was your joke vote and not something that was derived from gameplay substance.

I understood your question Doug - I don't have a policy on Digger that would span in to day 2, he's just my normal day 1 vote.

I mean, I did just see this happen with Metro and Knuckles in another game.

Another reason I don't like to policy vote the same person all the time, then if you get info on them early it is hard to sell.

And Knuckles was scum -- you don't have to like the play but everyone alive has weighed in today. Is Kirk correct that there could be another reason yes - but does anyone have anything else to go on? I want someone else to present a case but until then I vote with my info today.

If nobody counter claims you I'll unvote, Im not saying you're lying, its just tough clear you in my view.

Tough spot. On one hand we don't have any other information to go off of, but on the other Diggers claim might be true and if it is and he's town then we're already going to be up a creek very early on if we lynch him.

I don't see the value in a Digger lynch. There's not enough evidence to say he's scum and if he's town we don't learn anything because Metro's info is a perfectly reasonable excuse for voting Digger. With three town down already, I'm not inclined to vote for someone just for the sake of getting a lynch. If it had some value, I'd be on board. I don't have any other case to make, though.

I gave you a chance to sell me on this lynch. You failed. I do not want to vote Digger. It doesn't have to be info based but "I was right before about Knuckles" does nothing for me.

I believe Digger. So I might actually vote Metro. Or Talon. Probably one of those two.

I don't understand, so enlighten the group....

Normally when there's a town "faction" they are referred to as masons. Normally when you see "neighbor" it means that not everyone in the group is town. The fact that you've said it was just Justin and yourself, and Justin came up town using the normal neighborhood would mean you are scum. Couple that with the fact that there was no night kill last night despite red showing in the write up leads me to believe there's a reason and that likely I am that reason.

Those 2 combined to me lead me to believe you are mafia. I accept Kirk's response that other scenarios are plausible but in this game we can not just rely on 100%. Mafia wins an unusual number of games on this board because town is too paralyzed to act without a concrete 100%.

Ignorance - I think you felt that neighbor/mason was the same thing. You outted it because you thought it would give you town cred.

Again - I'm not basing my vote solely off of this - it's kind of just the icing on the cake.

I'm not sure I buy this neighbour thing as being much of a clue, either. If we're to believe that a neighbour pair is usually one town and one scum, wouldn't that just be the mod giving the town the name of a mafia member? I think neighbours are there to create doubt and even things up a little, but it doesn't necessarily mean that one of them isn't town.

Vote: Talon

I think he's intentionally twisting "evidence" to get a town lynch. He can easily fall back on Metro's info when Digger flips town.

You're not typically told your neighbor is scum when it happens.  and the scum typically has a safe claim.  I've unvoted because after a second read it doesn't make sense for Digger to be scum, he's clearly Amini, since Amini was upset when Rikishi died.

I was going off of role more than flavor and have since seen my mistake, I just don't like the use of "neighbor" to describe what would clearly be a mason group.
