Changes to player contract terms
« on: August 22, 2016, 09:24:49 PM »
EFFECTIVE AFTER THE S8 DRAFT

From this off-season on, Teams will have a new option for getting out of contracts without the long term ramifications of previous years.

DURING the ERFA period, teams will be allowed the option to release players from their contracts and only be obligated to play 50% of the players salary for the upcoming season.  The remaining years will be voided and 100% off of the teams books.

You will not be able to take advantage of this option for players on guaranteed contracts.

Any players released during the pre-season, regular season, post season, or before the draft or after ERFA during the off-season will still fall under the same rules of 50% for the life of the contract to cut a player.
