All eyes are on me whenever I'm flying high above the sky, They call me The Baron, Carmine Barone is the name... Stunt aviation is my game!  I'm looking for a GM who can build a flashy in your face football team that gets as much attention as I do when I'm out there in my planes..

Are you the one for the job?  Step right up, you're cleared for take off!

Mr. Barone, thanks for the taking time to speak with me. I'm GM Strike Guy, it's been a while since I've taken flight in the HIFL myself and there is something about your initial pitch that has me quite curious to take this interview.

I'm open to any questions that you have.

That Strike Guy! I used to listen to your podcasts when I was flying over the Pacific Coast for the big air shows out that way...

I want a flashy team, high scores, big highlight plays, splash moves at the trade deadline and in the off season... I want people to be TALKING about the Milwaukee Barons' and asking what we will do next..

I want big stats, record breaking moments.. I just want flash and pizzazz.   I want to win of course, but what is winning if nobody cares because its a 10-3 victory with 100 punts?

Is this something you can handle?

I believe it is something that I can handle and quite frankly, something that can generate a lot of buzz and do so in a quick manner for the city. It’s one thing to be considered an expansion team and people expect growing pains but I do think we can be competitive and exciting right off the gate with the proper moves.

I like the way you think kid.. Tell me something, if you had EVERY player in the HIFL at your disposal in a draft, who would you pick with your first choice?

If we’re talking past and present, hypothetically? Jose Mackey. Now there’s a guy that could do just about everything on offense, do it effectively and do it with style!

I'm saying that if every current player was in the pool, not retired guys.  I'm curious who you'd build your team around today, if we could get any player we wanted.

Ah, I misunderstood. In that case, I’d go for somebody I was incredibly impressed watching during my time in Lincoln and that would be Jeremy Martin of the Rapid City Inferno. Skills, intangibles and as of recent, championship experience? Couldn’t ask for a better piece to build around on the offense.

The job is yours if you want it Mr. Strike Guy, we'd be happy to have you as our wingman here in Milwaukee.

Guys in that position have some of the toughest work in football...hard not to respect it. Even more so when some of them do the impressive things they do.

I'd love to come on board, sir. Thank you for the opportunity.

First off, ouch. That's unfortunate to hear on the plane crash.

That said, let's get Coach Garry Fedora from North Carolina on the line.

---------------------------------

Coach Fedora. GM Strike Guy here, sir. Congratulations on the success you had this year with the Tar Heels. If you have a few moments, I'm starting the interview process for our head coaching position here in Milwaukee with the HIFL next season and wanted to ask you a couple of questions. If you have some time, I'd like to start off by knowing what kind of offense you like to run and your coaching philosophy as a whole.

Well we run a pure spread offense!  single back, 3 WR, TE... VERY FAST pace... Shotgun, Under center, tempo tempo tempo, always looking to get the ball down field in a hurry!  3-3-5 defense to play fast and versatile without having to have a lot of sub packages, just let the boys go play ball.

The kind of offense that's both exciting to watch as well as effective with the right personnel. I getcha on that. How many years have you been doing this at the college level, Coach? And during your time coaching, what accomplishment would you say is the one you are most proud of?

Hey dude.  Dad asked me to give you all of the following information.

- Once the Expansion Draft goes live we're expected to make some flashy moves...

- We will have $7MM in PR for film study, $4MM for the Combine, and $2MM for combine interviews and stuff... use it wisely.

- You know we have to hire coaches...

- Remember that our scouting direction is also the head coach of our Minor League affiliate, so hire well.

I've been coaching college ball as a head coach for about 7 years, started out in DII, then got the gig at Carolina about 4 years ago.. My biggest achievement came this year, getting the team to the ACC Championship winners circle and then into the college football playoff..

Definitely a hell of an accomplishment. Now, the team we are looking to build here is one that is flashy in its offense and able to score points. My next question to you is this one, Coach. If we could get any player we wanted in the present HIFL to build an offense around, who would it be and why?

I see. One final question, Coach - when it comes to your staff, outside of coordinators that would fit within the schemes you like to run, do you have a particular preference out there as to who comes onboard with you or no preference whatsoever?

I appreciate your time, Coach. I still have some interviews to conduct but we’ll be in touch.

————————————

Carmine, let’s get Coach Kelly Spuds on the line.

————————————

Coach Spuds, GM Strike Guy here in Milwaukee. Congratulations on the national championship. I wanted to see if you had a few minutes to interview for the position of head coach here with us. If you have the time, I’d like to start off by knowing a little bit more about the spread offense system that you use, what positions you emphasize the most and your overall philosophy with coaching.

Hey there GM Strike Guy! Now Sorry I can't video call with you right now but it's been busy since winning the championship!

My offense is complex.. a lot of moving parts a lot of motion, and a lot of tempo.  Very fast, Very fast, VERY Fast.  I like to rotate a healthy crop of receivers out there, the running back isn't a big weapon on my team outside of working as a pass catcher when we need a checkdown, hell I'd pass every play if they let me!

I want to light up the scoreboards until they run out of digits.

With the media and all else, I don’t blame you one bit and the audio works just fine. To cut to the chase, got kind of offense is the style we are looking to run here in Milwaukee - flashy, high tempo and scoring at any given opportunity. We’ve talked offense but what about your style defensively - do you have any particulars you like to do on that end or was that something you defer to whoever your defensive coordinators have been over the years, Coach?

I don't have a favorite defense, I'll let the DC handle that business and trust him with making it work. I'm not ignorant to defense, but I just do a lot of work in the offense and need to work closely with it.

Hello again Coach, there’s one more thing that I’d like to ask prior to making a decision here. With you having just won a National Championship, is there an interest to make the leap to the pros or do you see yourself still looking to defend the throne in the college ranks?

-----------------------------

Carmine...let's get good old Jay C on the line.

-----------------------------

Jay, it has been a long time. Let's talk cheddar. Michael Hodge is somebody we want in the blue and orange next season making the kinds of catches he's known for and getting into that end zone. We'd like to sign him to 3 years, 11.5 MM and 2.5 MM in PR to promote him accordingly. What do you think?

The unfortunate nature of expansion, it seems. That said, I don't mind taking care of him for his inconvenience. We'll shake on it, Anthony. Thank you.

--------------------------------

Carmine, before we get back to our guys being taken in the expansion, let's get a hold of Jackie Andrews, the defensive coordinator over in Florida.

---------------------------------

Coach Andrews, GM Strike Guy in Milwaukee. I wanted to see if you had some time to talk about the defensive coordinator position here with the Barons. I know that the description that comes to mind when it comes to the kind of defensive your Gators have played is "utterly aggressive," but tell me a little bit more about the schemes you like to use and what your philosophy is as a coach.

Well I really am comfortable in any defensive scheme. I ran a hybrid system at Florida, and I've played in just about every system out there, so I really can tailor my defense to the talent on my roster.

Most people ask about coaches and their strengths, but what do you believe to be your biggest area of opportunity as a Coach and how do you believe you can improve on that particular aspect of your coaching?

I'm still learning to be a well rounded coach, so experience is what i need to do to get better.

I see. I appreciate your time, Coach. I have another name on my list here to interview, but we will be in touch.

------------------------------

Carmine, please get me DC Anthony Stevens on the line, over in Baylor.

-------------------------------

Coach Stevens, GM Strike Guy? Still coaching your men that you play to win the game, I assume? Listen, I am interviewing for our defensive coordinator spot and wanted to see if you would possibly be a fit. You've had your time coaching all over on both the pro level and the college level, including your recent stint with Baylor...is a return to the HIFL something that would interest you? And if so, with an expansion franchise like this one, what do you believe are some of your strengths that you could help bring to whatever defense we are to build here?

Hey there man. YES you know I am looking to get back into the HIFL coaching gambit.  That's the goal. Always the goal.  Top to bottom, bottom to top, you play to win the game... you coach to win the game at the HIGHEST level.  Period.

All day.

So now talking about what I bring to an expansion team?  Experience.  Stability.  No-Nonsense approach. A WINNING attitude.  That's what I bring.

Then I'd like to see about getting you brought in as our defensive coordinator. 2 years, 4.5 million work?

Deal. Good to have you on board, Coach Stevens.

--------------------------

Carmine, one more coaching spot to fill. So, let's get Coach Danny Ball from UCLA on the line.

---------------------------

Hello Coach, GM Strike Guy with the Milwaukee Barons. We are looking to fill in our offensive coordinator position and I'd like to ask in regards of your coaching experience altogether plus the offensive philosophy and approach to the spread that you have run during your time there in UCLA.

Thanks for your time, Coach.

------------------------------

Carmine, let's get Peter Jingle on the line.

------------------------------

Coach Jingle, GM Strike Guy here in Milwaukee. To put it simply, we're looking for an offensive coordinator that is able to run an exciting, fast-paced tempo offense and we're looking to build the pieces around that with some of what we've done in the expansion draft plus the amateur draft that's coming and free agency. Do you believe you could work within those parameters and if so, I'd be happy to discuss a contract with you.
