HEY! I see most of you can't handle the heat, so you don't deserve to work in my kitchen! Unlucky for the rest of you, I went out and found myself a GM I know can handle that heat. GM Strike is going to light up the PBL and burn you all!

Thanks for all your hard work, Goldy. Looking forward to getting my feet wet into the baseball side of things. Is there any chance I could have you call hitting coach Blake Thorne for me, please.

Coach Thorne, good to meet you. I just wanted to check in first, seeing as yourself and Coach Nordby are the only two staff members on the roster - I know you've dealt specifically with the batters and such, but I was hoping to just get an honest assessment of the team from an offensive perspective and well, wanted to know a little bit more about you, your coaching style and if perhaps a move to the manager position might be right given that the position is empty at the moment.

COACH THORNE

The team we have here is solid boss. Not a whole lot of glaring weaknesses I personally focus on getting this team better at making good contact with the baseball, even though the results last season were less than stellar in that department. I would absolutely agree to manage this great ballclub though.

From a look at our stats on paper, that definitely is an area I would love to see their improvement as well and I'd rather keep a familiar face to manage the clubhouse rather than bringing in someone new. So, would you be willing to re-negotiate terms and do a 3 year deal at 4MM per season starting this year to become our manager, Coach Thorne?

HEY! While Ms. Cashwoman did a great job, we are promoting her internally to a position in the executive side of things. With that being said, I would like to officially announce our new GM, Tarquin Oldfield. No doubt he has the chops to orknin the hottest kitchen in the PBL!

Thank you Mr Curry for that delicious introduction, and thank you Ms Cashwoman for your heard work and the preparation.

I believe a job like this was just too mouth watering to turn down. Here in San Francisco I believe we have the right mix of ingredients to really make something special, and it’s up to me to find a recipe that will really roast the opposition. I can’t say my knowledge of baseball is quite Michelin star, and my knowledge of the players is raw, but with a pinch of hard work, a dash of shrewd business accumen, and a sprinkling of creativity, we can ensure the bayhawks aren’t undercooked.

Any questions?

Pleasure to meet you, boss. We have a really solid club here, led by Finkle and Laski in the hitting department. On the mound, we as good of a 1-2 punch in this league as anyone else with Medina and Sais. I think we're going to be a better hitting team then we were last season, and the pitching will be there too. We won 34 games last season, but I wouldn't be shocked to see us improve on that number. I really think we can do something special this season.

The fans are excited to see a winner on the diamond and that's what we have here. The only thing that needs to be addressed is how you want to approach spring training games. We could treat this as a small snapshot and work our starters, we could play mainly depth players to see how they play, or a combination of the two. Just let me know.

Well new GM, new chance for the squad to impress, and we need to make sure competition for starting spots is high, so how about 6 games mostly starts and 6 games using the depth players?

1. Talk about how you feel spring training went. Who impressed you the most? Who did you feel under-performed?

Ahhh spring, a time for renewal, rebirth, growth and unbridled hope. And what better way to bring in the delights of the season then with some friendly baseball. Did we set the world aflame? No. But did we disappoint and fail to entertain? Not at all.

Our first step onto the hallowed diamond allowed us to show of our power hitters, with Laski, Finkle and Cummings reminding fans and media alike what they can really do, while Medina gave glimpses of his pitching skill. I would prefer not to single out sub par performances so early, preferring to focus and hone our tactics prior to week 1.

2. Are you going to make any roster changes before the first series of the season?

No

3. As the season gets underway, where do you project this team to finish in the standings?

I believe we have the right weapons in our arsenal be competing for that top spot in the division.

4. Talk about your first opponent and the key to beating them in the three-game

Ahhh a local trip to San Diego and GM Gooch’s devilish dogs kicks off the season. They have the tools to hurt opponents, but I have faith that with our power, we can overcome this initial obstacle

Glad to hear your enthusiasm coach. I feel I’m being smart from staying away from any changes or trading. We look settled, we look in happy and we look ready.

In terms of our batting line up, my initial feelings are:

1. Mandy
2. Morales
3. Laski
4. Finkle
5. Cummings

Although 6-9 look a little less concrete. Anyone else really impress you with the bat?

1. Talk about opening week. What did you take away from it?

We started slow, very slow. Perhaps it was not enough game time pre-season due to my rotation, but we were punished for it. Luckily we shook of those cobwebs quickly, and showed in the third game what we can really do. San Diego, are by no means pushovers and will go from strength to strength under GM Gooch’s leadership. But it was good to finish the week with two weeks, and such a comprehensive one in game 3.

2. Any news stories stick out to you this week?

I must say I am disappointed by the online poll and the lack of faith in our GM, and implore all fans to give Mr. Thome a chance to show his what he can do. He has the experience, he has a style that focuses on doing the simple things well, and he has a winning mentality that I believe will get us over the line his season. Although he wasn’t my appointment, I am 100% behind him and can only ask fans do the same.

3. Do you think there is PEDs in the game right now?

I have ever faith in the governing body to prevent such a catastrophic outcome as PED’s in the sport.

4. Talk about your opponent this week. What will you have to improve to take the series?[/b

This week we host the roadrunners, who come of the back of 2-1 defeat to Tokoyo. I am excited for our first home games, and hope we can put something special on for the fans prior to the match. Media, watch this space!

Well considering I am playing Albuquerque this week, Tokoyo’s Potent offence hasn’t really come into my mind. I suggest redirecting that question to Austin.

Don’t worry, we are all fallable, we all make mistakes. I would never write awful things about you because of a simple mistake such as reading a ‘rn’ as an ‘m’ in a team sheet,

So a 2-1 series victory, a great performance in the third, and a worringly lacklustre start we got punished for. Lots to ponder, what are your initial thoughts? I was impressed with our Rookie Morales, particularly in the second game which almost got away from us.

Talk about the last series. What was the highlight of the weekend for you?

Our first clean sweep of the season, and our fifth win in a row. A perfect opener for ‘Googlepark’. Things have clicked into place early quite nicely, everyone knowing what is expected of them, and performing their role well. The highlight for me was our pitchers, only allowing 2 runs in the three games, with Medina shutting out in the first game.

Talk about the incoming draft class, do you feel it's too early for players to have to choose this soon into the season on college or the pros

It’s exciting to see the next generation of players come through. This early gives each team enough time to really get a feel for the prospects, assessing their character as well as their skill.

How do you feel about the potential changes the league is looking into?

The details have been sparse so far so it’s difficult to give an opinion, but any changes that make the league more exciting for fans will be welcomed by me.

Talk about your opponent this week. What will be the key to victory.

Week 3 represents our toughest week so far as we travel to Boise, on a hot six game winning streak. But if we do the simple things well, our pitchers use their experience and full skill repertoire, and we bat well as a unit, we have every chance of coming away with some wins.
