Agreed. Even though we lost 2 of 3 I was happy with the effort from our guys. Travelling to London and playing a quality squad isn't easy. Do you have any thoughts about our play during the series?

Like you said, we lost close games against the best pitching staff in the league. London is the one team you don't want to fall behind on.

Agreed. I think we know we need to win games from here on out, so I'll let you get to work.

-------------

Let's talk to Bill Moore.

-------------

Bill, great start on Sunday. We needed to come out of London with at least one win, and you led us there. That was a hell of a performance...

1. Discuss the latest series. Did any player suprise your team or the opponents team?

Tough series loss. I thought we'd get at least 2 wins, but we only got the one. The extra innings loss was especially tough, but we need to move on from this and make sure we're a playoff team. As for surprises, I have to tip my cap to the Jacksonville bullpen. After giving up 3 in the 7th in game one they went 7 scoreless innings in the rest of the series. That was a big reason why they got the last two wins.

2. Talk about at least one piece of news.

The Virginia Beach/Brooklyn situation is humorous to me. No one is harmed by the "Johnny Suck It" and it shows the world that this league can have a bit of fun. I hope Brooklyn doesn't take the situation too seriously.

3. Talk about your Week 15 opponent.

We're playing the team with the worst record in the entire league. Winning all three is all I'm focused on...

With Mexico City playing in Boise this week, we have a chance to build a lead back on them in the division this week.

GM Gravedigger walks up to the podium to address the media...

Good evening. I'd love to stand here and talk about the series sweep that put us in solo first place, but obviously another issue has arisen. I understand Josh's frustration, and appreciate the effort he gave all season to this team. But he and others haven't been happy for a while now. I haven't pulled everyone out who has minor injuries, I haven't spoken to them enough... it seems like there's a disconnect between myself and the team that is threatening to derail this team for good. That's why I'm making the decision to resign from the Austin Drillers effective immediately.

I honestly believe that the talent exists in the Drillers' locker room to make noise in the playoffs. But if this level of discord continues this team will absolutely not maximize it's potential the rest of the season. So I feel it's better for this ballclub if I am no longer a part of the process. Clearly we're not going to see eye to eye and I don't want to be the reason this team isn't at it's best.

I want to thank Mr. Goober for the opportunity to work with this team, and wish him and the rest of the organization the very best going forward. But I can't continue with this job with the way things are going. I'm going to continue to keep a close eye on the games and hope these guys rally around each other and win a championship, but a change is needed at this time for them to be at their best.

Does anyone have a question before I leave?

I would like to be a part of this league, but I'll need to make sure I'm on the same page with any franchise before taking another job. I do not want a repeat performance of this season. I think I'd prefer to work with a rebuilding team, but I will check out any potential openings to see if they're a good fit.

THE MEDIA LEAVES

-----

Well, you stepped down, did ya? That makes this conversation we were going to have pretty much pointless, but I accept your resignation. I hope you learned a valuable lesson here son. You cost me a lot of money, but you also made me a lot of money, so I appreciate your service with this team. Good luck, son.

Nice to speak to you for the first time Mr. Boras, I'm Henry Stark. First I want to say, I'm glad to have Robby on the team. He's a character type of guy and I think that's something I envision this team wants to build around. Based on the rookie wage scale, we're offering Robby $1.5MM for 3 years. Will he accept that offer?

Well, first nice to meet you Corey, I'm Henry Stark. Secondly, I wasn't planning on doing that, on the contrary I wanted to offer you a 3-year extension for the same amount you made last season. I just wanted to get to know you a bit better and understand what your philosophy has been since coaching the Drillers.

I was not expecting that and I'd be honored to return under my same salary as before. As for my philosophy, I run a balanced, conventional approach here. I have a fiery personality though and I'd be lying if I told you all my players are receptive to it.

As long as you have your player's back during those moments I have no issue with you on that. Guys respond better if you show them that you've got their best interests at heart, that's what makes a good skipper and if that's you I'm glad we got you back here. I've got another meeting I need to make, but it was nice speaking with you face to face for the first time and I wish you good luck this season Mr. Yeager.

Ms. Gold if you can, is there a chance we could see if Ryan Tyson's available?

I would agree to those terms, however I am holding out hope for an opportunity to manage at this level. I feel I have what it takes to be a great manager and just need the opportunity to show that. So while I would be happy to return, if someone does offer me a manager position, I just want you to know up front, I plan on taking it. I do my best work with finesse style pitchers, but I think I've shown the ability to coach up any style.

PR CAMPAIGNS

Tom Upson, Shawn Rogers, & Josh Barry - “The Magnificent Three” ($1.5MM)

The promotional package contains starting pitchers Shawn Rogers and Tom Upson, alongside Reliever of the Year Josh Barry in a commercial sponsored by the PBL. In this campaign for the three, Tom, Shawn and Josh will play the roles up sheriffs in an old western town. In this town, the outlaws are causing the local saloon some trouble. Tom Upson calls this group of bandits out. When the men come out, Tom tells them that they aren’t welcomed in the town anymore. The bandits laugh at them and brandish baseball bats and threatening the three men. The three pitchers then brandish baseballs and gloves.

The townsfolk gather around and cheer as the outlaws line up and try and hit their pitches for home runs. Each pitcher gets a chance to strike out the entire side, showing off their pitching abilities. Some scenes will cut to some of the locals dressed in old-timey western outfits doing modern things, like “The Wave”, wearing face paint with the Austin Drillers logo, wearing foam fingers, and the town band playing “Old Town Road” in a folksy tune.

After the bandits are done, they are run out of town. The camera gets a hero shot of the three pitchers with the PBL logo coming onto the screen. Along with this commercial, billboards around Austin will show the group of pitchers standing tall in with their sheriff outfits on holding baseballs. This commercial will also appear during breaks during the innings in the stadium.
