"And what approach would you use to help a team that is slumping pretty much up and down the line-up?"

Spent time in the college ranks and spent three seasons as the head coach of the Bend Fire Ants of the folded PAAA, which was the feeder league to the PBL. As for a gameplan... it's the same as any hitting coach, making sure the players are putting in the work to improve their craft. Looking at your team, it'll be a tough task to quickly make them all hitting machines, but I'd do my darndest to see that it happens.

Lifetime minor league player, never got the call up unfortunately. Was a power hitter that even hit for average, but parent club thought I was too small to produce the same at the professional level. What I bring to the table is something nobody else has. The Placko Wacko hitting tool. I invented it myself and it works wonders, especially in the power department.

Was the manager of the Bangor Blue Claws minor league team of the now defunct PBL minor league system. Did that was three seasons before moving to the college ranks where I currently coach at University of Maine. It's all about repititions and making sure guys are getting adequate time in the cage, working on their swing, elping with their plate vision and discipline.

"I will send that contract to the league office. I'll see you when you arrive in ABQ."

---

"Sweetie, could you ask the team captains to come see me? Thank you.

...

Gentlemen, thanks for coming up. I wanted to talk to you about a personnel change we made. I let Coach Pvan go. It was my understanding that he was very well liked by a lot of members of this team, and for that I'm sorry. The change was not one I made lightly, and with our overall struggles, I felt a change was necessary.

I brought in Matt Sanchez, he formerly coached in Bangor and the University of Maine. I know mid-season coaching changes are tough. I wanted to ask if the three of you could lead the team in embracing the new coach nonetheless. This season has been tough I know, but I want to start winning again. Can I count on your help?"

"Thank you for joining me this week. We didn't have a great outing this weekend, but we also ran into a buzzsaw in Virginia Beach. It was a tough series overall, and we were outclassed. We have the worst record in baseball now. The list of things that don't need improving is a lot shorter than the things that do. I'll take questions now, yes?"

"What are your thoughts on the punishments the league handed out this week? Fair, or unfair?"

"Fair or unfair as compared to what? We'd have to have a baseline to compare to in order to make that determination. I'd say what would make punishments unfair vs fair, would be the consistency. I think so far, the league has been very consistent in handing out punishments for rule breaking. I think that is worth something on its own. Next question?"

"Can you comment on the reports that your team captain called out your most productive hitter?"

"Well, our players had a discussion that got leaked to the media, and that's that. As far as I'm concerned, the situation is resolved. Players, even teammates, are going to have disagreements. And then they are gonna move on. We've moved on, we're on to our series against Brooklyn. Next question?"

"Speaking of Brooklyn, can comment on the series?"

"I think Brooklyn is a great series for us to go in and win. We match up well against them. Our pitching staff has been better this season, and while they have had better success at the plate overall, our numbers are fairly similar. This is a winnable series for us. Our hitting slightly improved this past week under the new direction of Coach Sanchez, and I think as he continues to implement his vision on the staff, we'll see better results. Despite our record, we don't give up in Albuquerque. Every series matters, and we're going out every series to win.

Any further questions?"

"Tough team to run into when we're trying to turn things around. We have a much better math up for us against Brooklyn this time.

I'm thinking at this point of the season, let's see what we got with the youth in our system. We had some young talent in house, and we traded for a few more. We have a new hitting coach, so I'd like him to get to work with the young players as well. We'll do it in stages. A couple of players now, a couple of players in a few weeks. I'm thinking I want to take a closer look at Armstrong and Messina first, and then work in guys like Fitzpatrick, Peak, Osborn, and Hallford at a later point in the season. I still want to go out there and win some series, so I'm not willing to overall the roster in one go."

Sounds like a good idea, we can always do it game by game if you want to go that route instead of series by series. I'm fine with whatever.

Appears to be water under the bridge with them, but Ruiz on a few occassions failed to hustle down to first. Think it's just frustration as whole on the season.

"I want you to pull a player if it happens during a game. I hadn't given that directive before, so I don't want to apply a retroactive punishment to anyone. Going forward though, if you feel someone is not putting in effort on a play, whether its running out a ground ball, or making lazy errors in the field, I want that player off the field for the rest of the game."
