Veterans tend to gravitate toward me than younger guys, probably due to my age.

Good answer. I'm going to interview some other candidates and I'll get back to you if you get the position. Thank you for your time.

Just called it an end to my career a few seasons ago in Japan, looking for an opportunity to get started in the coaching ranks.

Thatís good. I like that you have an international playing background. What is your coaching philosophy when it comes to pitching? Is there a certain type of pitching that  you feel would be a good fit for your coaching style?

Man, that's a tough question because every type of pitcher can bring something to a team and on a mound. So I'd say you need a nice balance of everything to be successful, but my goal is to be able to teach them all up.

Spent time in the college ranks and spent three seasons as the head coach of the Bend Fire Ants of the folded PAAA, which was the feeder league to the PBL. As for a philosophy... it's the same as any hitting coach, making sure the players are putting in the work to improve their craft. As is, it's going to be a tough task for any coach to come in here and back this team a great hitting team, but I'd do my darnedest to make that happen.

I like what youíve said so far. Do you feel you work better with younger players, with veteran players, or a combination of the two?
