SEASON 9 DRAFT CLASS RELEASED!

Premier Baseball League announced the Season 9 amateur draft pool today, a scant 160 days in advance of the actual draft. For scouts, it is the toughest challenge of the season, trying to come up with an educated guess as to what a young man in his late teens or early twenties is going to do at the professional level a good five years down the road, at best. Some will go on gut instincts; some will rely on years of experience; but most will find it disconcerting how much their team is beholden to Lady Luck. Choose well and they are geniuses; choose poorly and they are unemployed.

PBL TRIPLE A PLAYOFFS KICK OFF...

LOS ANGELES- The inaugural season for the PBL Triple A has come to the final turn as the playoffs begin to crown the first minor league champion under the current structure. In the Coastal Conference, with the best regular season record by a decent margin, the Atlantic Division champion Portland Hydra (London Griffins affiliate) will square off against the Pacific Division champs, Spokane Valley Apple Sox (Boise Elk affiliate). In the Inland Conference, it was a close finish for the division crown in the Badland Division, but it was the Fargo Roughriders (Omaha Explorers affiliate) who emerged to face the Midland Division champion Huntsville Hoots (New Orleans Krewe affiliate).

One of these four teams will earn the right to be called PBL Triple A Champions and once the season concludes, as per Commissioner Hallquist's announcement, players from the minor league teams will be given the opportunity to play on the major league teams as rosters will expand.
