Yeah I wanted to make sure everyone got a look, but we can always trim it down once the season starts proper. Who knows maybe there will be a gem down the bench that we can give some more run to.

I say we give it 6-8 games to see how things are going and we can reassess at that time.

"Your team has a great combo, but early on it looks like the bench might be an Achilles heel, what are your thoughts?"

That our bench didnít play as well as Thurston and Ferguson did. Are they the Achilles heel? Well, they likely are for everyone. If you donít have bench players who can spell your starters and stars or fill in for injuries then you arenít going to go as far as you hope. In our case, itís been a few games. Maybe we cycle back to
This conversation a bit further along.

What else do they have to do? If they arenít stirring stuff up they arenít doing their job.

With that said, I think it might be worthwhile to shorten the bench a bit. I know you had tossed the idea of not giving so many minutes to the bench and I think we should explore that idea. Give the guys who are performing well the time.

Yeah, I think we definitely need to keep Flye and Brandon on the court longer.

I agree. Both should see more of the floor. I also liked what Green did those first few games.

We had a few bench players have good moments, but nothing too noteworthy. Probably going to slide Elder to a DNP type spot, leave him as an emergency player in case of injury.

We won a game and lost two. All in all, an okay week. We still have some work to do to find our right fit, but we are getting there. Ferguson had a great two weeks for us, posting constant double doubles. Heís an amazing talent.

Our plan for the new two weeks is to keep getting come chemistry in practice, keep working together soo that it will translate onto the court during games. It will come and when it does, we will be flying with the best of them.

I mean, thereís always that worry, with any star player. Especially in weeks when we have 3 games. But it is something we will monitor going forward and see how he is as the season goes along.

Itís almost like they think heís the only one on this team worth talking about.

Our last few games didnít go the way weíd like. Do you think itís time to really shorten the bench?

I don't want to shorten it too much because I want to try and keep our guys fresh.  However, we could tweak some minutes here and there and see if it helps.

We've won a couple in a row, but I think it's worth looking at our minutes ratio at this point.

Based on what I e seen we need to keep Ferguson and Thurston put more...seems like they are the straw that stirs the drink.

Beyond that Iím not sure what your thoughts on, but Green has kind of disappointed most of the time...is there a point to leaving him there or should we make a change?

I've been looking over some of the stats and I'm thinking that Jason is shooting a little too much compared to Jones and Green.  We only have two players scoring in double figures and our shooting guard and small forward are only shooting the ball seven times a game on average.  I think we might should look at altering our offensive sets a little.

Will changing it do anything? Iím all for having other guys take more shots, but if those shots arenít going to amount to anything, Iíd rather have guys taking them who can actually sink them.

Ferguson, Green, and Jones are all shooting around the same field goal percentage.  I think it's worth tinkering with our sets to try and take the ease off of Ferguson with the focus of keeping him fresh for the playoffs.  We could give it a try and if it don't work out we can always go back.
