Historic season by Waylon Hagan makes this a pretty easy pick IMO... and ya'll know how much I love Larry Stevens.

Biggest question is does he go unanimous or does someone stiff him.

If anyone votes for anybody but Hagan, it's just to be different and not make it unanimous.

You're all wrong. 177 tackles, 20 pass disruptions and a defence full of rookies around Stevens. Hagan was on a team that was massively over cap and much of that pumped into the defence. When Hagan wins the award there needs to be a * next to his name.

I think it's funny you change your stance on Stevens when you didn't give him any S7 DPotY love. Just goes to show that you don't think logically, you're just a homer. So anything you say holds zero weight in these discussions.

3 points to make here Jon:

1. I never argued against Stevens in S7. My argument was that interceptions were more important than sacks or TFL.
2. In S7 I voted for Glass despite Taylor being from my team.
3. S7 was 3 seasons ago. Of course my view on players is going to change.

I actually agree with the point you were making in S7. This shouldn't just be about the stats. I'm not saying Hagan is undeserving. It's a historic season for him so I can understand the award going his way. I just think that Stevens does more for his team. He's not just a tackler but he's a leader and the heart of that team, as well as the heart of the all-star team.

1. You never argued for him either, like you have here. Why? Because he's on your team.

2. No proof of that, and honestly I'm not sure I can take your word for it. You probably voted for JT. The arguments got deleted because of the tie and nobody responded after that... but I remember you propping up JT that season quite a bit.

3. True, views do change. As do the the teams you GM for. You've made that apparent here.

Says the guy pushing for Lai in the rookie thread simply because Lai plays for Seattle, even though his stats are inferior to Burger.

You yourself said Interceptions are more valuable then sacks. So are they really?

That would be a great argument for an MVP discussion.  However, we are talking defensive player of the year, not MVP.  Two completely different style of awards my friend, and being the heart of a defense doesn't really factor into this discussion.

Changed my vote from Hagan. He deserves it but Jon's attack on Dazz sucks. Rivalries are fun, but personal attacks are uncalled for. Dick move.

How does Dazz and Jon's spat mean that you need to change your vote from the player you think deserves the award?

Guilt by association. Unless Hagan releases a statement deouncing Jon, I have to assume that he supports his actions.

Good point!

I'm going to agree with Gooch. You don't see any of my line backers up there because all 3 had 100+ tackles (or pretty close) and each had rate stats counting. If Goulet played linebacker in DC he'd probably have got 200 tackles.
