hola, señor Garcia, mi nombre es Francisco Bien.   I represent señor Huerta.

We are looking for a 4 year contract, valued at $4MM per season. That can be spread across signing bonus and salary, of course.

Hola senor Bien. We were looking to match the contract we just signed with a player drafted higher than your client. However, we could look to increase this to the $3.5MM mark if we got a longer contract on he table.

I understand where you are coming from but Eugene is unlike other players in this round.  He has a lucrative contract on the table to play on the International Circuit with the Spanish National team that is actually 4 years and $8MM..

So if you want him, you'll need to give us the 4 years and $4MM he wants to stay in America.  Bien?

We like Huerta and want to see him here in Miami, so we will agree to the contract on this occasion. Hope to do business with you again, and keep this conversation in mind when we do. Adios.

--

Selina, can you get James T Crain on the line please. Thanks.

--

James, I know you are a busy man this time of year but I am calling about your client Carl Long. With our acquisition of Herzog, Longs role would fall to a backup role, but with his contract we are looking at potentially having to cut him from the team. I don't want to do this though and wanted to chat to you first to see if you were willing to re-negotiate his contract to $3MM so he can have a role with our minor league team next season but also act as a back up in case of injuries to either Williams or Herzog.

There is only one year on the contract thanks to that incompetent pedazo de mierda in Tulsa..  But if you want to make it a 4 year deal, fully guaranteed we can restructure right now.
