Just a reminder that Ortega finished with 51 total TD the most out of any player, threw for less INT than Daley, was top 10 in QB Rating and was 2nd in RB yards

Do with that info what you should

I'm going to abstain. With the new baby and related issues, I haven't paid any attention to the season outside of my own team. I'd just be voting for stats leaders (and not Ortega). Also, I'm a bad loser.

I just want to add that Darren Pierce...

Had a RECORD setting season in receiving yards.

I'd still pick Ramos over Pierce. More TD's, playing on a weaker team with a weaker QB.

I'mma throw Crews name in the hat for MVP. Lead rushing yards, decent passing yards without a drop, was an all star MVP, leading Punt return TD's.

I have a few players who played extremely well. KJ Henry had terrific numbers for DROTY, Patrick Owen should get some love for OROTY, maybe OPTY and MVP, but I'll pound the table for Coach Larry Wright being unanimous coach of the year. Took a team "rated" 19th in both offense and defense and got them 10 wins and the 4 seed in the West, all while helping develop a QB who came off the Michigan practice squad into a MVP candidate. It really shouldn't be close for that award.

The only Portland guy I voted for and only one I can make a shout for is Michael Briggs for DROTY. 65 tackles, 23 PDís and 3 INTís all his Rookie year is extremely impressive. Thatís more tackles, PDís and interceptions than Juan Kirk

Stephen Basham was the most targeted player throughout the entire season. His 58 pass deflections set a single season record but on top of that, he was amongst the players on defense with 5 INT's, has 9 sacks to his name, 3 forced fumbles and 89 tackles to go with it all.

No other player on defense has been challenged to this level and risen above that challenge, so to me, this is a Defensive Player of the Year right there.

And a much weaker schedule.

Missing the playoffs isn't MVP worthy for the most important player on a football field. Going from 15-1 to 8-7-1 isn't MVP worthy.

Had a RECORD setting season in receiving yards.

I know the talks between him and Ramos are something a lot of people are going to have.

Pierce had less drops, the extra yard, played tough competition and he also didn't have a costly fumble at the start of the season that lost his team a game.

...I also don't want Max Ramos to necessarily have nice things that'll validate Aaron Kitchen and St. Paul's existence, so maybe it's my rivalry bias talking. >_>

So still not an argument for your guy just bashing mine.

Also donít confuse an individual award with a team achievement. Considering the suspensions and injuries I dealt with Ortega is probably the main reason I even got to 8 wins.

I don't need to argue for my guy. His resume speaks for itself. If people choose to ignore it, that's unfortunate.

And a much weaker schedule.

Doesnít necessarily change anything about what I said, but you could make a stronger argument for Pierce with it. Iíd still lean toward Ramos. Plus I already voted!

Gordon Goulet was 2nd in Tackles, 5th in TFL, T8 in Sacks and T1 in Defensive TD's - if he's not unanimous for DPOY ya'll are insane.

I think he's a top candidate for sure, but I don't think he's necessarily "unanimous" as Cotter had a season that was equally as good at the linebacker position. More tackles. A few less TFL's and sacks but more PD's and equal DTD's.

Is Goulet deserving? Undoubtedly. But he's not the only one.

While that's all true, fuck Cotter.

Cotter?  The guy wasn't even an All-Star!
