"Ah..yes, Mr. Wrong.  I appreciate the cover letter you sent to me directly.  I've tried to use my technology background to make this team a winner...but I have yet to create an algorithm that creates a winning team.  How can you make us better?"

To start with, we need a solid draft to bring in the one thing this team is missing which is an elite franchise player. You then throw in a foundation of youth and a little patience and you have yourself a team that will improve season after season

"Hmm...I like the sound of that.  I will see if I plug the code into my computer and see what it spits out.  In the meantime, what position do you envision this franchise player playing?"

An elite level center gives you not only a larger than life character to draw in the fanbase and a real physical presence on the court, but an elite level one can act like an engine through the entire court and and can raise the level of every other player on the court.

You give me an elite level center, and I will give you a successful franchise in due time

"GM Wrong it is my sincerest pleasure to meet you.  I am Ms. Stout, I shouldn't have to tell you how I got the name, but in case you don't get it just take one look at me.........like what you see?  Don't look too hard, Viv might not like it.  Anywho, Mr. Abrams has offered you a contract for 2 years and $2mm per season that can be used in the off-season for scouting.  The league is currently finalizing certain details, but in the meantime feel free to reach out to the coaching staff.  And of course, if you need anything let me know.  Just remember, you can look, but not touch."

"Got to tell you Mr. Wrong, you have a pretty good coaching staff here.  Myself, player development is my calling.  I shape and mold men both on the court and off.  With that being said, I work well with Coach Calloway as he has an eye to spot talent.  Coach Thomasaon is an offensive guru and Coach Smith is our defensive guy."

"Burleston, Williams, and Morrison were starters last season and all three averaged double figures in scoring.  We don't have a big-time scorer or rebounder for that matter.  If we are going to change our luck we have got to address those two issues."

Hello agent of Brent Williams...

Brent is a veteran here in Boston and part of the furniture here and as he reaches the autumn of his career, I'd like for it to be here in Boston for life. To maintain and to benefit and to future proof the franchise though, I need to financially stabilise the team and I need Brent to help that. I'd like to restructure the contract and to make it certain that he's here for the long haul until he chooses to retire.

Is that something that Brent would be willing to do?

I'm looking at 4 years of 4 million per season.

It sees him in certain gainful employment for a much longer time and will see him earn more in that time than he would with one year and then uncertainty thereafter

"Mm....that's a little steep. I've talked it over with him and Brent is willing to do a two year deal worth $6.5 million per season.  That would stretch his current salary over an extra year and would allow him the ability to evaluate whether or not he wants to retire at that point."

How about we meet in the middle...

3 years, 5million with a 50% payout should he choose to retire after each complete season... So if he completes year 1 and retires, we pay out 2.5mm for each remaining season should he retire
