A quick once over of your team tells me Howell is definitely the key piece on this squad, and King will be an important player as well. What I like on the hardwood is a past paced team that looks to put up as many points as possible, while playing tough, pressure defense. I see a roster that definitely needs upgrades at a few positions, preferably younger players we can develop and count on for years to come. A playmaking point guard is a key to the modern game, and an athletic big who can defend the paint and give us some flexibility on offense...

I like to be aggressive in roster building. Drafting, free agents, trades... doesnt matter how you get there, just that you find the right talent to bring home a title.

"Good evening GM Digger, I look forward to working with you and building a legacy together.  I think we have an overall talented roster thus far.  We got scoring, we have a sixth man, our biggest issue right now is rebounding.  We don't have that one guy who you know is going to grab ten plus boards a game.  We need that."

"I wouldn't lose sleep if you amnestied Dickenman.  He's on the down slope of his career and is nothing more than a rotational guy at this point.

Murphy is a wildcard.  He's 32, but as a starting point guard he can produce. Biggest question is if we extend him...how much would it cost us?  We'd have to do a good ol' fashioned cost-benefit analysis."

1. The start of the season is upon us, what are you most excited about?

I want to see this team in action. Our coach told me he likes the makeup of our squad, and I concur. We are a definite contender for the title, so I want to see us take the floor and get to business.

2. What grade would you give yourself for this offseason?

Incomplete. I won't know how well this offseason went until I see how this season shakes out. Time will tell how well I did.

3. What do you feel like is your team's biggest strength and biggest weakness?

I feel we have a good amount of depth on our team. Our overall talent level is high, so we should be in contention to beat anyone in the league. If we have a weakness, it might be the SF position. We're relying on a PF to play the majority of the minutes, so maybe we could be better at that spot.

4. Who is the most important player on your team?

Simmons. It was a big move for us to get him back to Detroit, and his talent and veteran leadership will be a key piece of our success this season. Howell is probably our most talented guy, and I expect big things from him, but I think Jason will be the guy that brings it together for us.

1. Talk about your first two weeks of the season.

We didnt play, so I havent gotten to see the squad in action yet.

2. What as your biggest takeaway of your team?

Same answer as #1...

3. What player stood out the most to you around the league?

Willie Wilson has a great couple weeks. He makes plays all over the place.

4.  What do you say to your team to get them ready for the next two weeks?

That having extra time to prepare is a bonus and well be good and ready when we finally take the court...

1. Talk about your team's performance the past two weeks.

Up and down. Rough game 1 vs Boston. Being a bit shorthanded made it difficult and we couldn't overcome. Also can't shoot under 30% and expect to win many games. In game 2 against the Irish, we rebounded offensively, but just gave up way too many points. Wilson was an absolute beast for them. We finally got things together against Ontario, but winning one of three won't get it done. We need to be better on both sides of the ball.

2. Address your team's news and what do you plan to do about it?

It's a shame that Jason missed curfew. He's a vital piece of our team, and a guy we need to have the success we're looking for. As for any plans to deal with the situation, I think Coach Crenshaw handled it well. I don't see the need for any more consequences.

3. Through the first four weeks, how are you feeling about your team?

I'd rather see us at 2-1 or 3-0, but the three games showed me we have a talent base that can win and that we just need to put it together.

4.  What areas does your team need to improve in?

Consistently playing at a high level on offense and defense. We can't be streaky. We need to be on our game all the time.
